Chapter 1 - Chapter One

" Aaaah!" Lina said, as she shielded her face with the back of her left hand. " Not again please." She was being bullied once again by her siblings, this time around by the youngest in the family. The one she had thought would at least support her. And here he was doing what she never expected.

" You have no right to tell me what to or not to do!" Daniel said, his eyes full with scorn for her. He had grown to believe what his elders and every others said about her. The called her the devil's daughter and like every other devil's, thy had no place in the world.

" Go back to where you belong. Go!" Daniel said, as he continued to throw the tomatoes at her. One by one the landed on her, without her making an attempt to stop him.

If that would give him joy, why not let him.

Slowly, her body drenched in the pool of the tomato sauce. Staining her beautiful dress in a way that a mad woman would call her mad. She did nothing but to look at him, thinking of how he'd suddenly changed. She remembered how she used to rock him, tell him bed stories and taught him a few things about life.

Now all that had changed, what was left was a bitterness that she knew was planted. She wouldn't blame him for choosing to believe everyone over her because she herself didn't know where she belonged. It was still a mystery.

" Where should I go to?" She asked, as she couldn't bear it anyone. No one supported her and the only person who did was her mother who had passed away when she was only eight. Now she needed to hear from him, know what he'd say.

" Go to the abyss. I believe that's where your lot's are kept." He said, before spitting on her. He cleaned his hands on the only clean spot on her dress before giving her a final look of disgust.

Lina continued to stand there, her body shaky by her brother's outburst. So no one actually wanted her alive, now she feared them more than ever. Even if she was the devil's daughter or the devil himself, they shouldn't have treated her the way they did up to this moment.

She wiped her nose with her palm as her dress was soiled all over. There was no one to run to, and no place to hide either. It wasn't a question of leaving, but rather the fact that she had no place to stay in other than where she was.

And yet again she wondered why her powers never disturbed anytime it was her and Daniel, because it mostly did with the others. Was it because they once shared a bond? Or because he happened to be a child still?

She looked to see the maids gossiping and pointing at her and immediately they noticed they had been caught, they lowered their heads. She had made it a duty not to cause harm thereby drawing her family more from her, so she left them and went back to her room.

Her hands suddenly began to form a mystific fire, glowing a bright color of red and the ground started to shake. It was her first time in forming a fire and earthquakes followed, Sending everyone to scatter to the ground.

She had come out with her two younger ones to play with them, but they denied her and called her the devil's daughter. The demon in her got angry and decided to show it's true color.

Her eyes which were the color of the wolves, turned to a darker shade and giving her a dangerous look. Her sister was the first to notice the change in her and alerted the attention of everyone. The maids ran away while the guards stood transfixed looking at the girl who was carrying fire, as if trying to proclaim her destiny.

The king and queens had by now heard the screeches and they came out to watch as Lina stood fixed to the ground, controlling fire that could burn down the whole palace. Her mother went to her and begged het to stop but she refused, but rather hid her behind her. Was later happened was beyond everyone's comprehension.
