They walked through many corridors and passed a few people on the way that all looked shocked when seeing Alexander.
It was forbidden for normal people to enter this deep into the main temple. It was a simple rule that never got changed for over 4 millennia now.
Only every few hundred years was someone promoted to such a degree that he was permitted here.
And these people would apply for a promotion for many years.
For there to be someone new that came in without notice something big needed to happen.
The further they went into the structure, the less people they got to see.
Alexander and Lilia walked for a good hour before they arrived at the biggest door they saw so far.
"This is the heavenly armory. It sadly rotted away like the rest of the old war stuff. It only gets cleaned every hundred years or so."
Alexander looked through the room. If one wanted to find a weapon, this was the place to go to.
It was like a huge supermarket just for weapons. They were orderly placed into their own sections and even subsections.
"How am I supposed to find a good weapon in here? There are too many."
Lilia smirked at him. "This is just the front. The holy swords have their own section."
Alexander glared at her as he looked back at the entrance. There was an old but still pretty functional teleportation formation on the ground.
They could have teleported in here…
'Memo to myself; Learn how to teleport'
"Let's go."
Alexander wasted enough time. He needed to get back to the military base before they shut down for the day. He said 'be right back'… a few hours ago.
Walking through the shelves filled to the brim with weapons felt magical.
These were all weapons used in the old war.
As there was no need for them anymore, they got stored away.
A small room within the hall was their destination.
It was a sealed space that the goddess had to unseal for a solid five minutes before they could enter.
Alexander understood pretty well how he knew pretty much nothing about the magical world for now by just looking at Liliana doing her job.
He could maybe cast and solidify his mana a little bit.
But he had no substantial knowledge for now.
Everything he did must look like a parlor trick to the gods.
They've seen it all.
This small room did not only look bleak from the outside. The inside of it was only filled with a few swords that at first glance only looked to be extraordinarily crafted.
The difference to all of the other blades was not only the design.
They all had their own mana signature which signaled him that they had some kind of sentience.
"I will leave them to you. They will be exhilarated to be finally able to show their powers again.
Just talk to them and see which sword will accept your idea."
Did Alexander understand that correctly now? Talk to them…
In some stories these swords were able to talk. But certainly not in all of them.
"Hello holy swords? My name is Alexander the fluffy and I am here to copy one of your designs so that I can give a replica of you to a few thousand angels."
Laughter could be heard from the 100+ swords that were in the room.
A single sword flew up from its scaffold and hovered over to Alexander and Lilia.
"Lily, how come this boy tries to replicate a holy sword? He seemed to not even know that we were sentient until just now."
Alexander was more confused than ever.
This sword seemed to have a good relationship with Liliana.
"This is Exi, Alexander. The holy sword Excalibur to be specific. He just got to be the representative of all the swords here."
Alexander bowed a little bit for this talk before taking a step forward.
"Through a game called choices, mana from another world pours into ours to awaken the world core and break the barrier keeping you out.
A side effect of that is that the players who enter the game keep their abilities their souls get there even here.
To prevent chaos, I as a representative of both goddesses of creation, will mediate between the maniacs that misuse their newfound powers and the rest of the humans."
Liliana was furious. Not because of something Alexander said, everything was true after all. But he bowed before a god damn sword while he never bowed before her.
"Lily, where did you pick up this sweet boy? He sure knows how to talk, but can he even fulfill his promises? He doesn't look strong. Can he even wield one of us?"
Liliana was taken out of her stupor by this question.
Keeping everything professional was important even to her as a God.
"Alex, Divine Aura, now."
This sounded like a command. So, Alexander followed it without questioning her intent.
She knew what she did after all.
The clattering and the whispers of the swords stopped.
"HE IS A GOD? THAT KID? Liliana what the hell did you do?"
I am a God? Really? I thought I was still below that level.
Although the single requirement in his eyes to become a god were to fully fuse with a divine law.
His own law of purity was still growing, therefore he believed that he was still a step away from godhood.
"Young lesser God to be exact. And it was not my doing. The dumbass that gave him the divine spark planted it into his soul and he nurtured it until it got too big and he had to fused with it.
It was unexpected, but he became a lesser god more powerful than many of the old gods who did only rely on faith can you believe that?
Unintentional he only has 3 believers which are his relatives."
Excalibur could understand how furious Liliana was now.
To eliminate strife over resources, the old gods decided to only rely on faith for their power.
Most gods went that route and a power balance between the gods was established.
Only sometimes the natural and close to all of the evil gods used up resources to get their power.
But this kids aura was that of a righteous god. Even in the old war they were rare.
How could a new god have such a pure righteous aura?
"Lily, what is his domain?"
Domain was the law that a god claimed to be his own.
Under normal circumstances only one God would be in a domain so that the faith energy went only to them.
There was no rule to have multiple, but no one did it.
"It's hard to believe but his domain is purity and black hole."
Purity explained perfectly his unnaturally divine aura. It was just pure, not very powerful.
However what was a black hole law?
Was he an all-devouring god that was also pure?
That was contradicting in itself. How can someone live through the ascension of this kind of conflict?
His body would be shredded apart by the conflicting energies.
"How did he survive it?"
"That's something that I would also like to know. I can only guess what he did to quell the energy."
Alexander was left out of the conversation again. They did talk about hard topics that he had no knowledge of.
The meaning of domain was easy to guess. But they soon talked about his ascension.
"By conflicting energies, do you maybe mean the pulses of energy that my core gave off?"
Excalibur and Liliana looked back at him. Did he have an explanation for the process?
He was awake through it?
"Aaaaaaa~ God damn. I totally forgot. Exi, Alexander did not go through the normal ascension process. He had no corporal body to begin with and the divine spark already partially fused with him.
His race is now called Soulwalker. He could stay awake because he had no brain that got destroyed."
What were they talking about? What was the ascension process normally like?
"Please, before you continue Lilia, explain what the normal ascension process is like? You said something like corporal body and destroyed. Is it violent?"
'Shit' was what Liliana thought right now. If he knew too much about the process, he could replicate it with other humans.
She feared an army of new gods more than him.
"I cannot go into detail in fear you will copy it, but simply said, gods until they attain divinity are normal humans.
As they ascent to godhood. Their divine spark will become their center of existence. Everything else will be burned away. The spark will just do its thing while the god dies and gets immediately reborn.
That is the reason gods are usually unconscious."
She grabbed her head with both hands.
"You however fused your core, the former center of your existence as a soul with the still infant divine spark. It never had to burn away the rest as it had already fulfilled its purpose.
There only needed to be a strong push so that the different law you encompass plus your divinity law fuse into one.
As one of the laws got fully fused with you, the other tried to follow which led to the pulses you mentioned.
At this point you can see why normal gods just die here. How will they be able to defend against these conflicting energies?"
He could somehow understand that. If he wasn't able to calm down these pulses, the interference would have killed him even before he went into space.
To quell them, Alexander spun his core around to create the vortex again to control the interference waves.
Just like with the black hole…
He inwardly screamed at this point. There was a good possibility that he could have died there.
"I- I think I understand how I did it. Though I now know that I could have died at any point within my ascension. I got the conflicting energies under my control exactly how I control my black hole ability."
He did not want to go into further detail with that. To create a black hole was dangerous.
"You used your other law to get the first to fuse with it into one single law?"
Lilia was more confused than before. She did not even want to know what he did at fist. But now that she knew, thing were different.
This opened many paths for gods that were never explored before.
To combine laws into one sounded awesome to her ears.
She hadn't had this much fun thinking about magic in many centuries.
Excalibur took the conversation back to himself and the swords.
He also found this very interesting, but for swords like themselves, the ascension process was of no importance.
"You want him to copy on of our own to arm the angels with copies of his pure mana. Is this the plan you two follow?"
Both nodded in acceptance.
"Good. Take me then. From the standpoint of a normal sword, my design fits the needs of the angels best. My form is excellent to throw spells with it and my blade is sharp."
The other swords that were silent until this point were in an uproar. They also wanted to volunteer to be taken by this new God.
Why shouldn't they. It would only grow their fame and so the existential power they held.
Similar to faith, these swords drew their strength not only out of their own body, but also from the tales they were mentioned in.
No one could hear anything in the room anymore.
Meanwhile Excalibur silently floated into Alexanders hands.
Alexander could not resist copying it. He held the holy sword Excalibur in his hands.
If one knew only a few sword names, Excalibur was definitely one of them.
Exactly the same as he did with his soul avatars, Alexander copied everything the sword was.
Even the soul level was not spared by Alexander.
Although it was not his main intention, he could now also take on the form of the sword.
Still in his human form, Alexander conjured the blade out of his memory to be a perfect replica of Excalibur.
