"Have you learned what an angel really is Alexander?"
He slowly shook his head.
"The only thing I know is that every angel has to have a divine spark. What the divine spark exactly is, I have no idea."
Good. Alexander knew basically nothing about angels.
"The divine spark is the manifestation of a divine law. In most cases, an angel wishes for a certain trait that the divine spark should incorporate and you will get the corresponding thing while it matures."
She took another deep sip. Thinking about what in the name of God Alexander had done with his own divine spark.
"You are brave Alexander. Brave and completely out of your mind stupid. Your divine spark is not a separate entity of you anymore.
The goddess of creation of the other world planted the divine spark in your soul. That in itself would have been okay if you had not foolishly nurtured it over its limit."
After drinking more and more tea, the bottle Freya got was now empty.
Lilia conjured more tea into the bottle, poured some into her cup and drank more.
"Your divine spark would have been more powerful than most because it is not physical. But it would stop growing after it matured and stay in the size of a football.
You on the other hand nurtured it to its extreme and even formed a core of pure essence and fused them with your divine spark.
That simply cannot be compared to any angel I created. You are far more dangerous than anything I ever created. And trust me, there are some terrifying things I created over the years."
Alexander did not know what to say. He just did the same thing the goddess did. Taking another cup of tea. But what Lilia conjured after the bottle was empty was not tea at all. It was strong alcohol.
She definitely needed that while talking about his divine spark.
Had he only wished for purity while nurturing his divine spark he would have been fine.
But no, he simulated a black hole, sucking all the mana into himself and then purified it.
This pure essence changed later as a third of the maturing divine spark entered the core and made it the base of Alexanders existence.
For anyone else this would have been unpractical. But for him as a soul, to be able to be a black hole when he wanted to have more mana was an amazing ability.
Lilia was stuck in her own mind for a while.
She was thinking a lot about the potential of Alexander.
He could do many more unexpected things that she did not know of right now.
"You know what Alexander? Just do your own thing. For when the people find out that the game choices is not actually a game, I give you full permission to do anything you want.
Either try to conceal it or go full out and tell anyone."
By now, the alcohol got to Lilia's head. Even gods got drunk. Good to know.
She was calmly mumbling something than neither him nor Freya could understand.
Freya lifted her up and princess carried her to the teleportation formation.
"I think we should stop here for today, Alexander. Sorry I was not of much help in the conversation.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to come to us.
All of the gods here can help you if you want."
With that, Freya teleported away with Lilia in her arms.
Alexander was suddenly left alone again in this room.
They left too fast for his likings.
Not seeing a reason to stay, he went to the teleportation formation he came in through and filled it with mana like Freya had done so.
It brought him back to the hall were the office angel had received him.
He relayed to her a bit of the information he was told about and as uninterested as she seemed the first time he talked to her, now she was even more deadpan than before.
"Just ask my manager Freya for more information. I have to work now. Please come back later.
If you want to leave heaven, just wish for it while using the aura of your divine spark.
You have already been given the power to do so on your own whim.
Now hush little angel."
Now completely focusing on her work, she started ignoring Alexander as if he was air.
He did not need to be told that twice.
Alexander felt shot down for no good reason. Everyone just went on with the day while pushing him away.
Summoning a gate that looked like a golden wooden door, Alexander walked right through it.
When he came out of the gate, Alexander found himself in an unknown location.
His map showed him that he was somewhere in the middle east.
Surrounded by nothing but a vast desert, Alexander was somewhat confused as he looked at his map and saw many red dots in a single location.
At first, Alexander thought the map skill he got from the goddess of creation was overpowered. Only to later find out, that it only marks enemies. Nothing more.
There was not a distinction between enemies. All were shown properly as red dots.
Alexanders problem however was that the map only showed enemies.
Allies or neutrals were excluded.
This was a great problem because neutrals could be angered and turn into enemies in an instant.
He learned that firsthand in the forest a few times while hunting goblins.
Sometimes when he was done killing a goblin, right as he was done fighting, another beast would jump on him.
That was the breaking point for Alexander where he would only look on the map for a general direction and after that completely ignore it.
The map only proved to be exceptionally useful when it came to terrain.
Its features of zooming in and out were great when traversing forests.
But why were there close to 100 red dots marked here in a desert?
Even the map showed that there was nothing in the vicinity.
Were the enemies somewhere underground?
As usual when seeing enemies on his map, Alexander clicked on the area expecting a quest window to pop up.
But nothing happened. It seemed as if the system did not work properly in his own world.
That meant he had to go in blind, without the system telling him what to expect.
Going in without a lead could be scary for anyone. Especially if one was not used to these situations.
Alexander however did not seem to worry. In the state his own world was in right now, few things could harm him.
Guns were practically useless on him. The same applied to poison.
The only thing Alexander still feared were nuclear warheads.
Just not for the right reasons. He was sure that he could absorb the energy of the blast and the radiation into his divine spark, but after hearing what had happened to the literal core of the world, he was hesitant when it came to absorption.
While he was creating his core, he went the slow route because of that reason. Measuring step by step how much he could take in without it straining him too much.
After ten minutes of observing the map, the enemies had changed position.
Whatever he saw on the map, it was an active compound.
"It would be fine to leave it alone for three days, right?"
Alexander spoke softly while ascending back towards heaven.
Activating his divine spark and rushing through the gate, he directly flew upwards.
Heaven was perfect for him to safely log into the other world and absorb as much mana as he could.
He wanted his divine spark matured for threats in his home world.
Going into the main temple, he sat on a bench a few kilometers into the great hall.
From here he had a beautiful view of the hall as well as a safe place to sit while not risking to be disturbed much.
He adjusted his pose to that of a praying man.
That would hinder everything else that came through here to talk to him.
After logging in through his soul avatar, Alexander found himself again in the desolate place that was one a forest.
Slowly but surely, the mana in the vicinity stabilized again and one could see a tiny amount of grass that was coming back.
It would still need a few years for this area to be beautiful again.
It was sad that he would need to repeat this whole ordeal again just to get his divine spark matured.
But he had no other choice. Raw mana worked the best for what he was using it for.
Beasts or evil things were walking mana bags for him, but their purity was even worse than the natural mana.
If one only grew by slaying beasts or for example goblins, that person would not be very powerful.
A prime example for that were the current players that hunted everything that came their way.
Sure, they would level up a bit, but they would not be strong.
Only after the continuous buffs that the leveling system gave them, would they be considered powerful.
It was not through their own effort, but through artificially inflating their power until their bodies and souls could not take anymore and would reach a ceiling they could never overtake anymore.
Power leveling such came at the cost of real progress.
As it was fairly early into the game, players were not at that level already where this would matter.
Only at the later stages of level 40 it would become prevalent that some players needed either much longer to gain exp and level up, or they simply could not level up at all anymore.
The other method Alexander thought of was strengthening the soul of the original, not the soul avatar.
The avatar would surely be better the stronger the original soul of the body was.
But everything that had to do with souls was confidential or simply an undiscovered field of magic that few partake in.
Messing around with souls could kill someone fairly easy. Alexander did not know what normal souls would be able to handle.
But increasing their density and power trough the constant use of mana would surely help.
His own family was doing well in that department.
Elly was fueled through fire. Even a lighter could keep her entertained.
A good way for her would be to be placed directly into a large star like the sun.
Not exactly because of the heat there, but the natural mana in a star far outclassed every normal planet.
Speaking of stars, that would be his mother way of using large quantities of mana.
Alexander did not know how exactly his mother got mana from the stars, but somehow it worked.
Only Alexanders father was special in that regard. He had to personally carry mana crystals over from the other world to feed on them with his own body.
That worked, but it was slower than anyone else in the family. It would surely be a taboo topic in the future to talk about the mana accumulation speed.
Through the constant use of mana, the souls of his family should grow to a considerable degree before even they reach a ceiling that they can only slowly overcome.
After thinking for a while, Alexander got up from the desolate forest and flew towards the next destination on his map.
The quests he accepted told him that his next stop would incorporate orcs.
They were perfect for what he was about to do.
So far, Alexander only fought as a wolf or in a sense with his absorption.
Now would finally come his chance to fight with his own body and especially with magic.
