It beeped for a little while like the mechanical part of a machine.
[My given code name is project mana. I was built by the last person on this planet that was capable of using mana freely.]
That was some interesting information Alexander came across.
The last maniac that managed to use mana made a slime capable of talking wait for gods to return.
"For what reason did your creator place you here? What is your mission?"
[This is the supposed cradle of the earth. Here is the settlement of the gods. That is why my creator made this invincible structure for.
You did not penetrate the borders of this facility, meaning you are already of a higher power.
Your divine aura just proved to me that you were in fact a god.]
What it said made sense. If this complex was really just meant to be a time capsule for a slime, then alarms were indeed useless.
[My mission is to bring mana back to the earth even though the planet went into deep sleep.]
'Hey. I heard that before. Was that like a common goal everyone came up with.
Come. Let's hear what this crazy scientist came up with as a plan.'
"How do you want to accomplish that feat. It is not easy because this planet will reject any kind of mana that originated from this planet itself."
[My master before perishing of old age, found a way to extract mana out of organic waste and void energy to release it into the atmosphere as mana.
The green everchanging cryo-tubes are a product of myself for that exact reason.]
At this point Alexander became suspicious. Some of the green slimes in the tubes were harmful for humans.
Going towards a green column where a marked enemy was inside, he smashed the column apart and just like the center column, the green slime flowed out and concentrated into a green blob.
"Now what. This little thing goes around eating the shit of other all day?"
[Everything organic can be eaten and be turned into mana. Waste is just what my creator intended our purpose to be.]
'intended huh?'
Alexander became suspicious as soon as the slime perceived him as a god.
It could clearly differentiate between angels and gods.
The only difficult thing was that Alexander was not a normal angel.
His power was greater than even angels of legends. At least in theory.
He was still bad at using this power, however if he had learned to conceal his aura, this slime would treat him differently for sure.
Alexanders map skill marked beings that were enemies to humanity.
A race of slimes in his world would be like an unstoppable plague.
Their cores were too small for guns or any kind of weapon.
Only fire could likely kill them for sure.
And that was only if they had no resistance against fire.
If they had something like that, his world would be doomed.
The more land they clear of 'human' waste, the more of them would be there until they would become the dominant species on this planet.
Not letting his suspicions show on his face, Alexander began talking with the slime again.
"Why were you waiting for the gods to get you? If you got out like three thousand years ago that would have been fine. So why wait?"
[Our master intended a safe world for us where we could feat at our hearts content without there being demons to obstruct us.
The gods seemed to be a reasonable factor our creator held in high regard.]
'Without demons? What a joke. I don't know any more what this slime is rambling about, but he sucks more at deceiving than Elly. At least she is cute doing it. This slime just feels fake in every way.'
"What do you intend to do when you get out of here. Keep the process simple."
[Find waste, feed, repeat. If no more waste exists; feed on mana until enough of our race are strong enough to traverse and populate different stars to bring mana to them all.]
'What the actual fuck was their creator on when he created these things???'
'I don't think I can wait anymore. I will burn this place to the ground. Absorbing such a thing is not to my taste.'
When creating a relatively large fireball, Alexander used a single drop of his essence.
To make sure that this place was burned to the ground thoroughly, Alexander used close to ten buckets worth of essence.
Imagining these bucked being poured into a single expanding flame, Alexander let everything loose.
An inferno suddenly gathered in his hands.
The slime realized what was going on as he felt the concentration of mana gathering.
[Gods and humans should just accept our superior race. Why act with defiance?]
The blue slime tried jumping at Alexander but suddenly found himself standing before a white sun.
It did not know but in trying to absorb Alexander itself got absorbed instead.
"You now try such tactics. I believe we are done talking now?"
The slime was baffled. He somehow entered the real body of the god.
It just wanted to absorb the soul avatar and break out of his prison.
How could the slime expect that this soul avatar would absorb it?
Infront of this huge white sun it felt inferior.
The sun was the incorporation of purity.
[Can we come to an understanding somehow?]
The slime stopped denying its defeat.
It went straight to bargaining.
"You already lost your life as you entered in here. I made a special rule for this place a while ago."
Alexander created a soul avatar in his own soul to walk around with and walked slowly towards the slime.
"Whoever will enter this holy space uninvited shall perish in my holy fire. That sounded pompous of me at that time, I did not expect to actually make use of that rule so soon."
Walking closer and closer, the heat surrounding the soul avatar Alexander created began to gradually rise.
There was only so much the slime could take before breaking out of its trance and trying to fight the avatar.
The slime shot an acid ball at the clone. Which was ineffective as even the clone had a divine aura of purity.
How could an impure acid damage this aura?
He could now more or less understand the meaning behind the words of the angel Haniel he met at the beginning of his adventure.
She shouted blasphemy as he received his divine spark.
Now that he had been mistaken for a god and fought as one, he understood why.
He and this slime were blaspheming the gods.
Alexander, in his role as just a too powerful angel deceiving this slime that he was a god.
And the slime, that did not respect and honor Alexanders status as a God.
The consecutive attacks that the slime fired were all for nothing.
They did deal no damage at all. Why was he even trying to fight the avatar?
He was already inside Alexanders soul realm.
Just to mess with this slime, Alexander created a few more soul avatars.
To not strain his mind to much, these avatars just followed his orders and acted autonomous.
All in all he created 20 soul avatars that now walked in on the fight with the slime.
[YOU CAN GAIN A LOT WHEN YOU USE ME RIGHT!!! I CAN STILL BE HELPFUL!!!]
The slime acted funny. When seeing no chance that he could either win or escape, he chose to talk instead.
For anyone that was susceptible to this kind of behavior, they would surely enslave the slime and make good use of it.
"You have only one chance to surviveā¦ Show me how you draw mana out of void energy. You can do that in here I believe."
The soul avatars all took a few steps back to allow the slime a little space.
"Do not try any funny business. I will know and kill you before anything you will do succeeds."
Again scared, the slime began his work.
It changed its color from blue to black and gained a constant influx of mass.
The void energy that seeped out of the rift the slime opened within its body was slowly turned into mana.
A little bit of admiration could be seen on the first soul avatar Alexander created.
This creator of the slime had a similar idea to his own.
But execution wise he failed before he was finished.
"You can stop now. You will just kill yourself and anything that happens to absorb this mana."
Confused the slime ended the process and slowly turned blue again.
[What do you mean I will kill myself? I don't understand.]
It was fairy easy to spot. The mana the slime produced was cleansed of the blackness and the feeling of it being energy of the void.
But it was still not mana. This was pure void energy.
"It's easy." Alexander laughed with all of his avatars. "Your creator made a mistake. You are faulty. Your reason to exist is to create mana, and even that is impossible for you through that method.
Feeding on humans would work I guess, but to think you can create mana through the void is stupid and will kill you."
"Even if you succeed with humans, do you really think that I will let a parasitic race loose on different worlds. Are you stupid?"
What Alexander said made sense. The slime could only blame itself and its creator for making such a simple mistake.
Would the slime only have said that it eats shit like Alexander wanted it to say, everything would have been fine.
Instead it stupidly told this God that it could feed on the void.
It was programmed to know how to feed on the void. But the end result was not mana at all.
Even as a slime it realized that.
All menace vanished within the slime. It just stood there doing nothing.
Purely in thought of what it could do right now.
[I arrived at a conclusion God Alexander. I am done talking to you. Just kill me already.]
After thinking it through, the slime saw no way to escape anymore.
It played its cards wrong from the beginning.
Even to acknowledge Alexander as a God from the very beginning seemed somehow suspicious to him.
To attack him while he was casting was the last mistake the slime made.
It was the enemy of a God. And it somehow got into the body of that God as well.
It simply could not win anymore after entering into this realm.
The only option left was to surrender.
Even if this God did not want to let it live. Maybe he would still spare him.
The chance was tiny, but it still existed somewhere.
"Alright."
Every soul avatar jumped at the slime and exploded into divine flames.
[Wai..]
Before the slime could finish this word it melted in the divine fire that alexander created.
It was especially effective because Alexander thought of this slime as an evil being.
The intent of the flames were to eradicate evil. A match made in heaven as they say.
The divine flames showed no mercy towards the slime.
It burned down until Alexander purified and absorbed the remaining energy.
He was done for the day. Only wanting to go home, Alexander finished his job by creating an inferno in the room and destroyed all of the remaining stuff in it. Walls included.
For the old times, these walls would really be impossible to break.
But for Alexander who just absorbed the structure as a dessert, it was nothing.
To return from the middle east to his home was faster than he expected.
He flew above his maximum flying speed with the help of wind magic.
This gave him a speed above the current limits of earths jets.
What he now desired the most was quality time with his family and above all, a warm bath where he could relax.
