Ashley's POV
After arriving home from the shelter my dad carried my dog up into my room and layed him on his new doggie bed we got for him at Petco and we also got a few other things like his collar, leash and some toys.
His back legs are broken so we put his doggie biscuits and water next to his bed so he wouldn't have to get up and hurt himself.
Finally reaching the top of the stairs my dad walked out of my room after laying my dog down. "Now when he needs to go do number 1 and 2, let me know so I can carry him outside."
"Okay dad, thank you!" I say while I hug him.
"Your welcome sweetie, now go get some rest you must be very tired after today." I nodded, then I walked into my bedroom and plopped down on my bed.
I looked at my dog now laying on his bed, his head lifted and he tilted his head in confusion. I sat up on my bed and looked towards him.
"I need to give you a name" I spoke to my dog, I know weird right.
"How about Blue?" He scoffed.
"Okay not Blue, ummmm how about Lucifer?" He whined.
"Oh I'm only just kidding...well maybe" I joke.
"OH I KNOW!!! How about Alpha?!" He howled.
I think that's a yes. He's got black fur and looks like a wolf and if he was he'd definitely be an alpha.
"Well then Alpha my name is Ashley nice to meet you" I said while going over to shake his paw.
"Okay then Alpha, let's watch a movie while I fall asleep, I'am knackered." I spoke tiredly.
After falling asleep to "Before I Fall" I felt my bed move and something move beside me. I looked behind me on the bed and realise it's Alpha.
"How did you get up here ya weirdo?" I mumbled.
He barked back. "Come here then" I moved his body closer to mine and cuddled him while I fell back to sleep.

While receiving chemo through my portacath, I was watching tv downstairs in the lounge room. I couldn't go to the hospital to get my treatment because my immune system has been very low lately.
I couldn't risk getting another lung infection, I almost died last time from it. So the nurses came to my house with the necessary items to do it.
They needled my portacath and hooked me up. I didn't bother with numbing cream, I just wanted to get it over and done with.
Cyrus' POV
I watched how they needled my mate, I was surprised by the fact that she didn't even flinch when they put it in. She denied the numbing cream they offered which firstly surprised me.
I was shocked by the whole thing, so I dragged myself to sit next to her on the floor while she layed on the couch watching tv. Every now and then she would put her hand down and pet me, I almost purred, well almost I couldn't let myself, she still is a human and a sickly one at that.
That night I heard her groans and whimpers, supposedly the chemo pain was keeping her up. I felt bad that she had to go through all this, no one deserves this kind of life.
I wanted to jump up there again and comfort her but I've been dragging myself around all day today and my front legs are sore. So I just layed there and watched her writhe in pain all night while my wolf whimpered.
*Next Morning*
I woke up to my mate laying on the floor at the end of her bed with her legs under her. I dragged myself over to her and nudged her.
"I'm okay Alpha" she spoke sweetly. "I finally found a good position where I can't feel the pain in my legs anymore." My wolf whimpered at her and she lifted her hand to stroke the fur on my back and head.
I nudged her again to get her to move, I don't like seeing her like this.
"Fine I'll get up and go for a shower" she growled.
She tried to shut the door but I stuck my head in so she couldn't.
"Okay fine you can come in, only because I know what it feels like to be lonely."
I eagerly dragged myself in and layed down while I watched her get undressed. Not gonna lie she had beautiful big well rounded breasts and curves that most girls would kill for, even in her skinny state. She had a small bum from all her bum muscles deteriorating over the years from just laying down all the time. I wonder what colour hair she use to have?
I watched her bathe herself while sitting on her bench in the shower, she looked like death from the little sleep she had last night.
