Cyrus' POV
How could I be so stupid to leave her alone.
Last night I was finally able to shift back to my human form. I walked into the joining bathroom to shift. When I did, my limbs were so sore from being in my wolf form for so long.
I turn to the mirror and as I stare at my reflection I realise I look like shit but I missed my human form. My hair was dark brown with long hair on top with the sides shaved. My eyes still a forest green. Tattoos covering my arms, back, stomach, chest and legs. I'm not as buff and bulky as I was before from loosing so much weight and not doing enough exercise.
After staring at myself in the mirror I finally walked out of the bathroom and into Ashley's room, she looked so peaceful and beautiful.
I tried to open her door quietly as I made my way out of her room. I went downstairs to use the phone that was in Ashleys dads study to call my pack.
The line was ringing for 3 minutes until my Beta Jake picked up. I told him what happened and where I was and that I found my mate.
He was over the moon for me and wanted to meet her but before I could respond I heard Ashley call out.
"ALPHA!!" She shouts. "ALPHA COME ON BUDDY! COME BACK TO BED!"
I told Jake I'd call him back, I shifted and walked out of the study and towards the back door where I heard Ashley yelling from.
The door was wide open and when I looked out I saw a rogue jump on Ashley and another rogue beside her in the middle of the backyard. I was furious. I ran out of the house towards the rogues but before I could get to her, the rogue that jumped on her clawed her back and she screamed.
My heart broke hearing her scream and it made me furious that some filthy rogue had hurt my mate. I tackled the rogue that was on top of her and bit out it's throat.
While I was distracted the other rogue tackled me and tried to bite my throat. I bit his leg and he yelped so I used his distracted state as my advantage and sliced his throat with my claws.
While he bled out I went straight over to Ashley. I found her looking at me, I didn't wanna scare her so I walked slowly towards her. I could tell she was about to pass out with her her eyes drooping and her short breathing.
I had to shift in front of her so I could pick her up and take care of her clawed back, so I shifted and walked to her.
I knelt in front of her as she layed on her stomach with her hands on the back porch steps. I hovered my hand over her clawed back and said:
"I'm so sorry I wasn't here sooner baby."
After I spoke she passed out and I immediately picked her up and brought her upstairs to her bedroom. I layed her down and went into the bathroom to grab the first aid kit.
While I cleaned up her wounds as she slept I couldn't help but feel guilty. If only I stayed in the room and didn't go downstairs to call my pack she would've been fine.
This is the second time she has been out in danger by rogues. If I could I'd kill every last one of them.
I swear to god I'am gonna do some serious groveling when she wakes up.
Please forgive me baby.
