Duncan.
I sauntered slowly to the direction where the scent was coming from, l took the next corner by the left and there he was, my feet were solid on the ground like l couldn't move again in the midst of all this his pale-looking skin is glowing, his hair is messy yet it making me yearn to tug it all backwards to see his face more clearly.
The wooden plate in his prison has filled up having the water flowed to the ground, his cloth is full of dirt yet soaked at the same time, he laid there without moving an inch like he didn't notice my presence, l clicked on the padlock nosily, l can't break-in l have to go in the right way, the key? I hurried back to the main entrance, there had to be a board pinned to the wall with a spare key and the cell numbers. It was done this way to make it easier for the cooks and cleaners. It was supposed to be a single master key if l could remember correctly.
"How long more do you need? " Audrey's voice came through our mind link.
"I haven't even talked with him yet, I'm------found it," l murmured as l saw the single key," Don't worry I'm heading to him now."
"Hurry up, Duncan."
I hastened fervently and got back to his door in no time, l jostled the key unlocking it calmly this time he finally raise his body to sit on one side of his thighs resting his both hands on the ground, l stepped in closing the door behind me, l could feel his delicious scent emanate the room fully, l could feel the fear oozing from his body.
"Hi, you don't need to be afraid, l just want to talk to you," l mumbled motioning my hands calmly although l was not certain if he saw it as his hair was all over his face, l went low resting my left knee on the ground as l surge my hand to touch his hair, how can he be so perfect even at this state, he heaved his body backwards resisting my touch.
"What is your name? I don't have much time to stay here, I'm sure you might be surprised to see me here or might have an idea why I am here but l just… you to cooperate with me."
"Del-mar."
"Delmar? " l chuckled gladly to his beautiful name," l want to get you out of here, to somewhere safe," l muttered softly which had him giggling and l was wondering what was funny.
"Thank you so much, My King but no thanks, I'm doing just fine."
"I'm not yet the King, you can call me Duncan."
"I'm sorry, l cannot do that, Thank you for visiting me, but don't come here next time, this is not a place for someone like you, My King," He said with no interest in his tone to talk to me, is he kidding? I knew he will surely make it hard for me and l don't want to use it the hard way because he is my only one, my missing piece, my mate.
"You can call me whatever you want, Delmar, but don't you think you are being unfair? I'm trying to save your life here."
"I'm meant to serve you to begin a new generation rather, l don't understand the part you said you are trying to save me, I'm an Omega my life belongs to you and my family."
"Stop saying nonsense and listen to me at midnight after the next shift a dead body will be replaced with yours and you will go with the one that brought in the body, they will take you to my private inn, l will meet you there."
"I'm sorry again, My King, l can't do that, l will pretend as if l have never heard anything you said today."
"Delmar? I need to–"
"You need to leave there in three minutes Duncan, l can't hold them off anymore, they need to return to their duty post," Audrey's voice came through our mind link.
"I will be out soon." I retorted, cutting off our mind link immediately.
"Delmar, l don't know if you feel what l feel or you are putting up this character on purpose but let me make it clear to you, look at me, l said look at me when I'm talking to you," l said gripping his neck and tugging his hair backward with my fingers, my anger subsided immediately as his green eyes were teary and full of sadness.
"You belong to me, Delmar, l won't let anything bad happen to you, if you wish to die so much then you shall die by my hands and mine only, do you understand me?" I grumbled sternly letting go of my hold on him as l stood on my feet.
"Thank you for thinking about me, the King of our people but l really can't do what you ask of me, if you are looking for one to warm your bed at your private inn, l don't have any experience l can't please you and am not meant to do that thing with anybody I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, l can't do it, l have never been outside all my life, l'm used to staying locked up, the life you want to give me his tremendously out of my league l don't have anything to repay you with." He said as he laid his back on the ground which had me turning my back on him quickly, how can he lay in such a tempting position?
I closed my eyes monotonously keeping my wrath in check, l have never had a subordinate talk to me in this manner or have someone of low-rank respond to me in a decisive tone, everyone will always respond feverishly and whimpering to their feet, does he feel good with me that he answered casually without thinking, l don't wish to impose my authority on him, l want him to accept me naturally, he is so different and desirable yet he is solely mine.
I let out a loud breath as l could hear footsteps from 19km away, l still needed to return the key to its position to avoid suspicion.
"Delmar, " l said, turning back to look at him as l placed my hands in the pocket," You know I'm being lenient with you right? Don't make me repeat myself, l only asked you out of courtesy and in respect of how l feel about you but l see that obviously, you do not need it so we will do it my way.
"I will see you back at the inn," l said as l step out cloaking my scent to lock the door and hurried out as fast as I could go in a pace.
