Kimora sat up dramatically drafting her eyes mindlessly around the place like she got more nervous than Duncan who is desperately mindless.
"What do you mean? I mean what are you going to do?" Kimora said worriedly.
"At least you understand why l had to run away because that was the only thing that came to my mind, what would you do if you were in that situation?" Duncan muttered letting out a sigh.
"So what are you going to do? Who else knows? Does he know?''
''You seem more confused than me, can you calm down with the questions? You are making me more restless Kim." Duncan said, placing both his hands under his head.
"Do you even understand your situation? You are not planning to take him in, are you? Because we both know that is highly forbidden, it is impossible for someone like us to mate with an Omega, Father will surely disown us if he hears about this."
"Reasons why you should help me think of a sudden solution, l just can't kill my mate because he is an Omega, l will have to stay the rest of my life without a mate? I have to live like our forefathers claiming what is not mine, do l just walk up to father and say 'oh l don't like that Omega, l want someone else in place of him, does that make any sense?"
"But you do know that whether you accept him to be your sacrifice or not he is still going to get killed and you have to provide your reason to father, why you don't want him sacrificed?"
"There has to be a way, Kim."
"Does he know? I mean your mate?"
"I didn't think of that, l don't know, what if I'm the only one that feels that way? I mean he didn't seem affected by my stares, his face was as blank and pale as a white empty sheet with no ink."
"It will surely raise suspicion if you go to visit him in the prison, it is not weird to see their next King stroll around the prison but you can be sneaky about it, but then what if he doesn't feel the same way as you? Do you accept him to be sacrificed?"
"You don't understand Kim, whether he accepts me or not l want him, l will make him love me even if l have to force him to."
"You are not making any sense Duncan and I'm worried about you, this is more complicated than you see, what you're saying is easier said than done."
"Then what the fuck do l do? I want to see him again, I don't know what to do, do l take him and run away?"
"Where can you go, Duncan? Stop cracking lame jokes, you want to run away from the throne, you have been working hard to get to this point, and you want to surrender all that and run away with a Man? An Omega? Say something else please, my thoughts are messing with me already."
"I'd rather lose the throne than lose him, Kim and l mean it, l don't care if I'm clouded by the thought of him but l don't intend to follow Father's footsteps anyway."
"Why don't we fake his death? We can move him to stay at your Private inn, l know that this idea is even crazier because almost everybody in Pack saw his face, it won't be easier for him to stay alive either."
"That is why l need you in my life at all times, l wonder what l would do without," Duncan grumbled as he stood up decisively fiddling his sister's hair playfully," That idea is good, anything to conceive Father, l will make the plan."
"But you have to be extremely careful who you trust to do the job because for me this has to be the biggest secret l have to keep in my life, I'm scared at the thought of it, what if you can't handle it? What if–?"
"Let's head home, Kim, leave the rest for me. That Omega is my only concern, anyone that handles the job won't live to tell the tales anywhere."
"How long do you think you will be able to hide it for?"
"As long as l can help him escape death, everything else will be fine, I'm sure it won't take a lot from Father to find me another Omega for the sacrifice, trust me will you? Let's go back, I'm sure Father will rain hell on everybody tonight, he spent and offered alot for this ceremony but l messed it up with my uncanny destiny," Duncan said as he helped the sister stand on her feet and they both strolled back to the Pack.
It was still hectic and brisk, right from the main entrance all eyes were on Duncan strangely like he committed an unforgivable crime.
He walked fearlessly with his younger sister, his only siblings and also his favourite person by his side, he didn't have anything to be afraid of, they both walked into the living room, his father was waiting impatiently, his mother was sitting beside his betrothed, Delta Bien, the atmosphere was luminous and gloomy.
"I'm sorry Father, but-------" Duncan didn't finish his sentence as his face tilted to the side, he rubbed his cheeks annoyingly to the Father's slap.
"Father, you should take it easy and listen to what he has to say," Kimora muttered, standing up in defence of her brother.
"Get out of my sight at this moment, " King Mannix howled, having Kimora return to her room.
"How can you be so shameless? Do you really have no dignity or no sense of responsibility to the people of the Pack, was l mistaken to have a detrimental Son-like you rule my Pack, did you just prove me right to be as senseless as your Mother?" King Mannix snarled bitterly, causing Queen Merly to feel even worse and rejected even more.
This is one of the reasons why Duncan doesn't want to mate with anyone except his Fated Mate, be it whatever creature or being, rather than claim one and act like they don't matter later.
"Father, you can throw words at me but keep my Mother's name out of your mouth?" Duncan said firmly, which he had his face tilted to the right side this time, his Father had slapped him the second time.
"Father, " Duncan howled sternly, controlling the rage overheating in his hand to punch his father in the face.
"You are not allowed to leave the Pack for the meantime, reflect on yourself and organise a meeting to plead with The Elders and the head Alphas for wasting their time, l will pick another date for your Coronation, now get out of my face."
