Chapter 17 - Seven Power Houses

The Military's base and academy were both huge with secured defensive measures for protection, as the military academy was created solely for students, to help them train on a planet suitable for life inhabited by the military.
Leaving the main military base on earth, where the high ranking's were to attend to all earth related issues, and issues concerning the seven major powerhouses on earth.
just as the military academy, the military base both has different floors and sections for different purposes, while some floors and sections are accessible to lower ranking's officials.
in the military, there were floors strictly restricted to lower ranking officials, and can only be accessed by higher rankings in the military which were the lieutenants, commanders, and higher.
currently in a huge room, one could see the Military's crest on the strange brown coloured door with the sign "Meeting room", engraved on a golden plate as a group of people had gathered in the room a meeting about to take place.
there were seven chairs round a huge square table in the middle as these chairs weren't that ordinary they were dark orange in colour as five individuals sat on them round the square metal table.
"elsa how are you doing?" a man who looked to be in his late 50's, broke the ice as he had ruffled ash grey hair, he wore a grey beast gear on with stripes of blue lighting on it and had a bold bright blue lighting bolt symbol in the chest.
"oh! am good erle, just been busy with some things..." replied a good looking woman that had ocean blue hair who also had beast gear set on but her's was blue in colour.
"that's nice to hear..." erle said with a playful smile, as he turned to another direction.
"sunny you look rather tensed than usually." erle suddenly blurted to a man opposite his chair, with short red curly hair dark black and red beast gear on him.
his appearance was mean, as he had a deep frown on his face, with his head being bent down on the table until he heard what erle said.
"unlike you who is carefree and playful, am not and don't plan to be anytime soon, so if you don't mind i have better things at hand to worry about..." his voice had anger in them as he spoke.
"do you mean your worried about the dargons sudden attack on some members of your household?..." erle said with a smile, he had such a carefree attitude that made one think if he, really was the leader of the grail family.
"am not worried at their deaths, but why the sudden attack?..."
"how could you say you don't care about the deaths of members of your house, i know you still haven't recovered from shee-"
"shut up! how dare you mention her name. flames were erupting from his body, as his armour started to light up a fight was about to occur.
sunny she didn't mean-"
"you! your the cause of all this if you had came in time, i wouldn't have lost her." a vein was bulging on his forehead as the temperature, in the room was rising despite the air conditioner working at full speed.
"it isn't his fault sunny, his house was attacked by the dargons too, we all were! elsa yelled as water began spiralling in her front."
"fuck this isn't happening again..." said a green haired man, who had green beast gear on. green liquids floated in the air around him, creating huge balls of the substance.
"i hope you know, our ability's are pretty much no use, in this type of situation..." the pale man with black hair and weird eyes said, as he barely raised his head, to look at the green haired man.
"are you fucking kidding me Lucas!" you might accept death so naturally, but am still young... the green haired man said with all seriousness.
"ha! *cough *cough. you young?..." "you're 45 sace, even ol-der than me."
"well can't you at least, use your ability on them."
"as much as I'd like to, i don't think i want to interfere in their matters, why don't we see how this little show will end. Lucas said as his dark eyes stared in the others direction."
the door of the meeting room opened as a man with afro cut hair wearing a dark military uniform which displayed six golden stars on his chest entered the room.
"what the-"
the atmosphere in the room was so tense that it made the military personnel stumble a few steps back.
"w-what's the situation here..."
as he entered they all cancelled their abilities and sat down on their chairs but the ground had already suffered the effects scorch marks were visible on the floor.
"it was nothing, commander Barry, we were just having a little chat amongst ourselves. erle spoke with a calm expression on his face."
"but it seemed like a fight was about to brake out if i hadn't arrived on time." Barry had a frown on his face.
"it's nothing... now your here let's get on with this meeting i have more important matters." this time it was sunny that spoke.
"ok-ok judging that we six are here it remains Linda peace but i guess we can continue without her." Barry grabbed a seat as he continued talking.
"firstly i thank you for coming on the behalf of the military as i know you all have some important issues to attend to but there's this issue that's a thorn on us all which are the dargons."
"their appearance are like humanoid wolves but the difference is the hard scales running up their body and tails." "they are not beasts but have futuristic traits of savage beasts. they don't have a goal apart to kill and can't be bargained with."
"during the first war our leaders were able to fight them off killing a lot of their species, but humanity suffered huge blows too as we had more deaths as a lot of people were just too weak. but desperate times calls for desperate measures."
"after the first war the dargons and humans signed a peace treaty promising not to attack each other as the humans and dargons had been at peace for more than a century now until they broke the treaty by attacking our bases for the past few months now." he stopped there as he was waiting for a reply.
"but why would the dargons brake the treaty of centuries now by attacking us with no cause..." erle had his hand on his chin thinking of something.
"they're savage beasts, their motive is to kill and dominate that's all they know there's nothing more to think about..." sunny spoke as he leaned backward on his seat his arms crossed.
"erle might have a point." elsa said,. "why would they just brake the treaty after all this years when they had the chance to attack when humanity suffered a huge blow...."
"maybe they needed to regroup and come back when humanity was least expecting it." sace said
"what are you trying to say sace, do you mean their planning a second war..." elsa said surprised.
"the possibilities where just right what if they launched a surprise attack on humans now we would be destroyed..."
"*bang, then what the hell are we waiting for let's strike first before they do..." sunny was already on his feet as the metal table had a big dent in it.
"w-e c-cant just rush into things just yet sunny, they're many possibilities." Lucas chimmned in.
"what! you mean to watch while the dargons take us on aware while we had the chance to strike now..." sunny had a scowl on his face as he looked at Lucas.
"i don't but wh-at i m-ean is if we should attack now humanity can't take if even if all seven of us including the leader of the military were to strike now our chances of victory are not that high as the dargons are known for their viciousness and numbers..."
"Lucas has a point there sunny, i know how you feel but we can't just act now hot head and regret the decisions later." elsa said looking at sunny in his eyes.
"b-but if we strike now we could avert a full fledged war with our current strength we're sure to win." commander Barry tried to persuade the leader of the park family.
"*sighs, Elsa's right we can't be irrasional and act now, we have to first upgrade the human race to be sure we can defend ourselves for any incoming threat..."
"how're the students in the military academy doing, i mean their performance..."
"they have only been taught the basics, but they'll be going on a hunt in group's in a week's time, accompanied by their homeroom teachers and two luitenants..."
"we need to speed up the process a bit... "
"i think all non ability users should be given an ability after the hunt and a few more books to level up their abilities." erle suggested with a chuckle.
"i'll have to speak with the commanders on that.."
"then make it quick we don't have much time..."
"yes sir.." Barry then got up indicating he was leaving as the five major powerhouses remained.
"i don't know if it's just me but i have a hunch that something's not right. "
"what do you mean elsa?"
"well, when the dargons attacked my base it was almost as if they knew where to strike, at first i didn't think much of it cause it didn't make sense. but now that i think of it some more the puzzles are coming together slowly." she shook her head as she drank a glass of water.
"you know it was the same thing with me too..." Lucas spoke up as he straightnened his posture.
"me also, while i was away three months back they suddenly attacked my base." erle said nodding in agreement.
"hmmm... mine was five month's ago and i wasn't at the base also..." sunny said.
"is there anyone else which base hasn't been attacked yet?"
"mine was four months back." sace said gritting his teeth.
this is like a pattern they're attacking our bases within a month interval while we were away, but how could they have known we weren't there and why would they suddenly strike now unless they were told to.
they've attacked all our bases except for the Military's, we have to warn them their bases might be under attack right now as we speak. elsa said already getting up ready to to head out the door but was grabbed by a hand.
hold on Elsa we don't know for sure there under attack which i doubt but they wouldn't outright attack the military base here on earth that must mean..."
"the military academy?"
"it's the only place they would attack next, the military might think the students are safe on another planet there, but i doubt it i don't think those gates will hold them, and considering their current power, are not that much tho they are some high lvs in there...."
"then what do we do now sunny?"
"first, we have to contact our bases and checkup on them if there is any situation, and reinforce them then we head to the commanders to go check on the academy, as we would be trespassing without doing so."
"the dargons can't possibly pull all this stuff themselves, they may be smart species, but there must be an inside source feeding them information..."
"do you, have any suspects in mind?" Lucas asked
"no, i don't have anyone on my mind i could possibly think of, right now but everything will fall in place with due time..."
"guess we'll be seeing those kids sooner after all." they then got up and left on by one to their different bases but there was shadow at the corner of the door.
"their on to me, it's time for a change of plans...."
