"I don't know but I'm sure we're being watched we need a layout of the grounds first and foremost, so we can plan a route of escape. Erika will be meeting us for diner so we should wait til then to start planning. I'm sure she has more in-depth knowledge about this place than us." Van said trying to brainstorm different ways they could get out of the messed up situation.
"Alright, I'll make some phone calls and try to get information about this technology and see if there's a way around it." Max replied as he didn't like being idle especially in tense situation where his life could be on the line.
After Max said that Van stood up and nodded and walked back to his room, 'System do you know anything about this technology or planning escapes?' Van decided to go to the system because unlike Max he didn't have outside connections and unlike Erika he didn't have memories of all the people he can in contact with.
[I don't think it's exactly the same as the technology from my universe as it feels somewhat primitive but they still were able to make it work it feels like an energy pulling system but it's not pulling the energy in the air rather it's acting like a filter pulling the energy that's not normally there. Unfortunately I know nothing of escapes my only advice is be precise in your planning and have multiple backup plans. If you'd like I can disrupt this technology giving you access to your home planet and abilities again.]
The system replied, the system was truly a wealth of information and good fortune, how many people had a voice in their head that could give them the answers they needed and be an additional source of wisdom when their own life experiences were lacking.
'I don't know if you should do that, what if they find out and decide to come for us sooner?' Max replied to the systems words. He was walking back to his room this time his pace was unhurried, as his mind raced attempting to formulate a plan to escape with his system.
[I've already thought of this matter I believe with a large enough flux of energy I could make the entire machine stop working, and give you all the opportunity to get out of here without facing any hardship.] the melodious voice of the system sounded again this time eluding to an easy way out.
Van stopped walking and thought deeply as this was extremely enticing, 'Get out of here without any hardship, but what if one day I don't have an easy option and I have to figure it out on my own? What am I supposed to do when I couldn't have even solved my own problems when it's time to seize the will of the universe.'
The system silently nodded at Van's thoughts as this was more so a test of his own temperament. Like they say all good things come with restrictions and had he chose the easy way out he'd surely be feeling those restrictions.
'No don't I have to at least try if there's no other option when we begin our escape then do it but until we're cornered, we will make a way.' Van directed his words at the system as he started walking again.
[As you wish just let me know what it is you need from me until then…] the system then went silent.
Van walked for about eight minutes before he arrived at his room where he fell onto the bed thinking how they would even do this, if what Erika said was true escaping was impossible and with all eyes on them how were they even supposed to get out of the dormitories without being found out?
