Chapter 10 - The big problem

A tiring day for Abel. Only this time the office atmosphere felt like hell for the woman. Facing Kevin every day was like going to die. Abel had to control his heart rate at all times. Had to hold back from being too happy every time Abel passed Kevin. Especially when their eyes meet accidentally.

Abel hopes that Tristan will forever be placed in the branch office. Don't go back to headquarters again. Facing Kevin alone is already heartbreaking, especially if you add Tristan. He might die young.

So far, as much as possible Abel has to control her feelings so as not to overdo it on Kevin. However, Abel must defend Tristan, because he is her future husband. Remember! Future husband. Gosh, why is Abel not happy to know the fact that Abel will soon become his wife. This isn't what he's been waiting for. But why does it feel so normal? There must be something wrong with Abel.

Of course there is. But Abel again denied that there was nothing in Abel. It's just a feeling only. Abel loves Tristan. Abel is happy to be Tristan's future wife. Abel can't wait to get married to Tristan. So there is no problem with Abel. Everything is alright.

She kept chanting those words like a spell.

Everything-

Abel gasped when the intercom on his desk rang.

[Abel, please come to my room for a moment.]

Abel closed her eyes when the command was called by Kevin on the other side. Abel closed the intercom and stared blankly at Kevin's room. It turned out that all was not well.

Abel walked limply towards Kevin's study. Back tired when the woman had to know that when Abel started staring at Kevin's face, Abel had to defend herself not to overstep his bounds.

"What's the matter, Kev-em Pak Aiden?" Abel's voice choked almost misspelled the name. It felt strange calling Kevin's name as Aiden. Kevin smiled knowingly.

"Please close the door." The man ordered then walked over to his desk leaned his body there and crossed his arms in front of his chest while Abel closed the door. "Erm.. well," Kevin rubbed his palms. "I'd like to take you out tonight. Do you mind?"

"I-I..." Abel rolled his eyes. This is too fast. Abel thought.

"Bell," Kevin walked closer and then grabbed Abel's shoulders, then walked along his arms and ended up holding Abel's hands. At that moment Abel's body stiffened like a statue. "I know, during the eleven years we haven't seen each other, you must have felt awkward with me. Therefore, in order to improve our relationship, we need to have some alone time. Getting used to it between us."

"Erm but," Abel moved back and let go of Kevin's grip. Starting to feel uncomfortable. Then walk back and forth to relieve nervousness.

"Why? Are you busy?"

"Not."

"There is a problem?"

"Not."

"Are you sick?"

"Not."

"Are you okay?"

"No! Em.. I mean, I'm fine." Abel rebuilt herself to look ordinary.

"Then there's no problem, right?"

Of course there is!! The problem is I'm already with Tristan! And I can't go with you. It's like I betrayed Tristan.

That's what Abel wanted to say in front of Kevin. But his tongue seemed to be locked tightly.

But before things got messy, Abel had to tell Kevin that, before it was too late. Abel had to tell the man that she couldn't go with him because Abel had to meet Tristan. Her future husband. Remember! Future husband.

"Actually I.." And it turns out that Abel can't. Very difficult. "I.." Abel's sentence was interrupted by Kevin's hands wrapped around Abel's waist, embracing the woman's entire body in his arms, then Kevin leaned his head between Abel's neck and shoulders. Like deliberately exhaling there. It made Abel's whole body stiffen and the hair on his neck was perfect.

Jesus! it's even heavier.

"What are you really doing?" Kevin's voice sounded soft in Abel's ears.

"I-actually…I already have.." Just a little more. But his knee (pr) has been weak since earlier. "I already have-" Kevin turned Abel around instantly. So that their eyes can be aligned. Right in the man's eyes, Abel saw his reflection there. Abel and Kevin stared at each other for a long time, all Abel did was stare at Kevin continuously without any intention to turn his eyes in another direction. Kevin is like the most unfortunate object to pass up.

Ah no. Not. Tristan is clearly cooler than Kevin. Abel's mind was already raging.

"What do you have?" Ask Kevin. Again with a voice that sounded so melodious.

"Having.." Let's say Abel, don't be a coward like this. "Having…plans for both of us."

Oh shit! Why are these words coming out of Abel's mouth? Kevin smiled widely. Then pulled Abel's hand and hugged her body.

"So, you have plans for both of us?" Kevin chuckled and Abel nodded weakly in Kevin's arms. "I can't wait for your plans. So, when is it? Tonight?"

"Yes," Abel nodded resignedly. "Tonight. The two of you. With you." Abel continued weakly, his strength was drained. But deep down there Abel was feeling very, very happy. Oh, Abel isn't all right.

In the afternoon, before Abel came home from work and turned off his computer screen, there was an incoming email notification in the lower right corner of the monitor. Abel opened it, and was immediately surprised to find the inbox of Kevin's email. Kevin sent him a message saying that tonight the man would meet Abel in a park that used to be where Abel and her first date was.

This is good Abel, she has gone far, even Abel has exchanged cell phone numbers with Kevin. Come to think of it, Kevin was still childish. He really thought Abel was a teenager who had just fallen in love so he had to go on a date in a park.

But, well, Abel also doesn't want Kevin to pick him up at home. Because this is a secret date, so it must be hidden from anyone.

So, here is Abel, sitting on a park bench by himself, wearing a navy blue hoodie with the hood over his head. Take a look around. Like someone in hiding.

Abel sat nervously and impatiently. The thing was, Abel had to stay alert. Maybe Tristan just walked past the park and found him waiting for Kevin. A luxurious black BMW pulled up right at the edge of this park road. As soon as the driver got out of the car, Abel immediately recognized him. That's Kevin. That woman immediately got up from the bench and walked over to Kevin. Not. Abel is not aggressive. She just avoided the worst possibility that he would be caught red-handed.

As soon as Abel arrived in front of Kevin, Abel immediately grabbed his hand and asked Kevin to get out of here quickly.

"You look impatient, Bell." Kevin actually chuckled at Abel's movements.

"Oh yeah. Definitely. Isn't this what we've been waiting for? Time together?" Abel turned his head when she and Kevin were already in the car.

"Yes, of course." Kevin replied then drove the car. "Erm, what if your plan that you said earlier was canceled?" Abel turned his head quickly to Kevin with a frown. "I mean, let me handle tonight."

"Oh, yeah, that's all right. Take it easy." Abel said with a stiff smile.

Abel immediately breathed a sigh of relief. At least tonight, Abel is safe because she didn't plan anything for his secret date with Kevin.

When the car started to enter the busy streets of Jakarta, Abel took off the hood of the hoodie she was wearing, and the strains of a song called Terjebak Nostalgia, sung by a singer named Raisa, seemed to be sarcastic openly. Accompany Abel and Kevin's trip on a weekend night.
