Chapter 14 - The Curse

Okay, don't be nervous just relax. Everything will be fine. Abel kept chanting the spell in his heart.

Abel never thought that Tristan's move from the branch office to the head office would be this fast. There was no preparation at all for the woman whose hair was now tied back, when this morning Tristan suddenly appeared in front of her house. Picked up the woman to go to the office together. He almost broke his high heels.

Why has his life been full of surprises lately?

"What are you doing? Why are you pale? Haven't had breakfast yet?"

Abel gasped as soon as he got into the car.

"It is okay."

"If you want breakfast first, just go to the office canteen. But I don't think I can accompany you. At 9 o'clock there is a meeting with Mr. Aiden."

Abel's heart fell into his stomach when he heard Aiden's name being said. His stomach suddenly became sick to his stomach.

"You know Mr. Aiden?"

"Bell, please. Why don't I know our new leader." Tristan rolled his eyes. Then press the clutch, turn the gear then step on the gas ready to drive to the office, which makes Abel hot and cold right now.

Tristan had parked the car but Abel still hadn't come out.

"Bell, it's here." To awaken the woman, Tristan touched Abel's hand. Abel flinched on the spot. Seeing the towering building made his body weaker. "What are you doing, honey?" Tristan began to think something was wrong with his girlfriend.

"I'm fine. Just a stomach ache." Abel answered while showing a row of teeth.

It seemed that Abel could no longer keep his feet in Hankook's office when Tristan opened the car door for him. What would happen if Tristan met Kevin. What is he going to do in there?

Abel kept thinking about how to avoid Kevin. At least there was no interaction between him and Kevin in front of Tristan, or vice versa. His mind was wandering around until he didn't realize that he was now on the floor of his office.

Several employees greeted Tristan, welcoming him back to the head office. Meanwhile, Abel felt his feet were not on the floor of his office.

His eyes were perfectly round, his heart was pounding, like he was being electrocuted. He stammered when he saw Kevin walking from a distance like a model walking on a cat walk. Abel was looking for a hiding place. But he couldn't find a suitable place to hide. There was no way he could hide behind that big pot.

"Bell, what are you doing? It's so weird."

"Hah?" He started to sweat profusely as Kevin got closer. And what the heck, Kevin walked over with a big smile on his face.

Abel had to leave quickly before Kevin got here.

"Bell." Tristan touched Abel who had been moving restlessly. "Can you calm down? Why are you--"

Tristan hadn't finished his sentence yet, but Abel had already fled and darted far away, entering the glass door. It's like I've just seen a ghost.

"What is wrong with him?" Kevin asked as soon as he reached Tristan.

"Sawan times." Tristan replied with a small laugh. Kevin also laughed at Tristan's answer.

"Sorry sir,"

"Don't call me 'mas' at the office."

Tristan whispered in Kevin's ear. And Kevin nodded.

"So the meeting is ready, sir?" Tristan asked formally, Kevin nodded awkwardly at Tristan's sudden change.

"Yes, sir."

They walked side by side while chatting about office matters that seemed to be provit this year. Kevin praised Tristan for being able to resolve the mess at the branch office as quickly as the company expected.

Carrying various kinds of documents, Abel walked shakily towards the meeting room. He cursed Arsenio for giving him an assignment to join the meeting with them. Even though Abel's presence or absence at the meeting this morning will have no effect. Arsenio said Abel had to take minutes of the meeting this morning. So his job is just to listen.

From a distance, Abel saw Annisa walking towards Abel. Abel thinks that Annisa can help him escape from Kevin and Tristan for a while. With full happiness Abel walked faster towards Annisa.

"Nis!" Call Abel trying to stay calm.

Anisa stopped her steps. "Yes?"

"Can I ask you a favor or not?" Abel hoped that Annisa would say yes.

"What?"

"Yesterday my mother made a very spicy seblak. Then you also know that recently my stomach has been having problems. So now my stomach hurts a lot." Annisa's brow furrowed in confusion. "So, can you replace me at the meeting this morning to take the minutes." Just as Annisa opened her mouth, Abel grabbed her first. "You just need to sit still and listen to the meeting, then make the minutes. That's all. Don't worry about your input, I'll do the work."

"How can that be, Bel, you're weird."

"You can Nis, as long as you want. At least it's only until 11. Yes, Nis?"

Abel said in a pleading tone and grimaced a little so that Annisa believed that Abel's stomach was really troubled. Annisa exhaled lazily, then took the document in Abel's hand without saying anything. But Abel concluded that he was willing to help her. At least for today, Abel doesn't meet Kevin and Tristan at the same time.

"Um, thanks Nis." Abel said cheerfully. "I'll treat you to a meal later." Abel whispered to Annisa. Then Annisa glared at Abel and smiled broadly.

"I'd be happy to help you Bell." Annisa's words changed drastically.

As soon as Annisa went to the meeting room, Abel immediately ran away. Abel had to hide himself in an unknown place. At least neither Kevin nor Tristan could find him.

At first Abel thought that he would just lock himself up all day until office hours finished in the toilet, but after Abel went there I don't think the toilet is a good place. If in the canteen, Abel might get a reprimand from Niko, the old man who pretends to be a ruler. He would definitely give him a warning letter right away. Or worse, even if he died he would never promote Abel.

Oh my god is there a secret place in this office that no one knows about?

Abel pressed number 4 when Abel was already in the elevator. The next target is Karina's room. If he asks, Abel will answer that Abel has no work. Or Abel will say that Abel is bored there.

Ah well, that woman has an idea. He would pretend to ask her for advice on promotions. Better that's it. Besides Abel will get enlightenment he will also not meet Kevin and Tristan at the same time.

Suddenly the sound of the elevator dinged and stopped on the 3rd floor. Abel looked around. There were four men standing in front of Abel. Then a man walked forward as if going out. The elevator door opened, the man stepped forward, Abel shifted his body to the left while looking at him.

And as soon as the man stepped out of the elevator, his eyes followed the man. And there Kevin and Tristan were standing outside the elevator talking.

Oh my God no. Do not. Not now. Abel begged. His eyes went wide as Kevin and Tristan moved forward to enter the elevator.

Anyone help me. Take me away from here anywhere.

Abel hoped her prayer would be answered.
