Dylan looked at the women in front of him with her backpack. He couldn't believe that she was going to live with him in the same house as his.
He looked at the hands on her shoulders, its owner was her so-called boyfriend. He had protective hands around her shoulder as they teleported to his house.
He felt a weird feeling creeping in his chest. He just wants to remove his hands from her shoulders.
'You are jealous' he heard Xavier voice through mindlink.
'I am not' he said, they both knew he was lying.
'You should have seen your face.'
'Aren't you going to do something?' he understood what he was referring to. He wants to fight with him over her. That was not going to happen. He was not a cheap man who went after another man's girlfriend.
'No' he said as his gaze fell on Xavier who had an eyebrow raised at him.
'I think there is something off about them' Xavier said as he took Evelyn's backpack from her and walked towards the couch in the living room.
"Off, what do you mean?" Xavier ignored Dylan as he sat in the cushions
"We have to acknowledge something before starting to live here," Xavier said.
Xavier was the smartest person that Dylan had ever met in his life. He was the best at solving problems and finding different ways. But the only thing was he was a sucker for love.
He loved romantic movies, novels, stories and everything. His life was all about love. He was never the type to have flings or anything like that. For him the relationship should be meaningful and put effort and time.
Whereas Dylan was opposite. He always had flings, nothing serious. He never even once had a relationship that lasted more than three months. He never liked wasting time or effort on the name of a relationship.
Xavier pointed him to take a seat on the couch as they all had seated there and was waiting for them.
''There are rules that you have to follow" Dylan said
"First, you are not allowed to put your heads on our business. Anything that happens in this house or any information should not leave these four roomed walls." Xavier said.
Three of them nodded as they concentrated on what the rules were.
"Second, you can't bring men or women into these house. You know what I mean right?" Xavier said as he waited for their response.
Ryan looked disgusted by the idea while Aaron's face looked like 'what the hell'. Evelyn showed no emotions. A poker face.
"These rules also apply to us," Xavier said.
Third rule, we have to meet everyday and discuss about new information about our agreement and also we will give you details about our culture"
"When?" Aaron asked
"We can start after two weeks, now we are collecting information. By that time you can explore our culture and study about it." Xavier said.
They haven't received all the reports about the details. All they confirmed was that humans were behind it.
"If you wanna go outside, just inform us before leaving" Dylan said as they all nodded.
"That's all. We will show you your rooms"
"As you both are couples. We have arranged same room as you can stay together"
"No" Aaron and Evelyn shouted in panic. So they don't want to be in the same room.
Aaron and Evelyn looked at eachother. There was something going on that he couldn't understand. Why didn't they want to stay in the same room? Aren't they couples?)
"Actually, we both need our own personal space." Evelyn said suppress the panic in her voice.
"Our culture doesn't allow living together before marriage" Aaron said
What are they even saying? Do people still follow such things?
"So you want different rooms?" Xavier asked.
"Yes" Evelyn answered
"Alright come with me"
Xavier took them to the upstairs right side rooms. There were four rooms on that side while three rooms on the left side. Dylan and Xavier stayed in the left side room.
Dylan would see the admiration in the human house. They looked at everything in surprise as they walked.
Dylan stared at Evelyn till she was out of his sight. She was beautiful, a different kind than the woman's in their world.
He never likes humans. He didn't hate them, he just didn't like them. He finds them weird. His dislike had only decreased after he had met his brother's mate. She was funny and outgoing and also very open minded unlike most of the humans he has encountered.
He couldn't believe that they still follow such ridiculous cultures. He had never been to their world. But he had heard stories about them from his brother as he always loved travelling. He had also said to him that humans in their world were much better.
Even Though he couldn't understand why they were following their culture even when they came to another world. He was relieved that they were not staying in the same room.
His mate staying with her boyfriend in his house. That was weird.
Yes, the human was his mate. The mate he thought he could never encounter. Now he had atlast met her in a weird way.
He had searched for her long before when he left loneliness. When everyone around him had found their one in one way or another. And he was alone. But that was long.
Now he started loving loneliness. He never felt lonely. He never wanted to be in a relationship or find his mate. That's when he found her.
He still remembers their first encounter. After he had splashed the powder in her face. That was when he saw her face. Before losing her consciousness her eyes found his. He felt a white spark travelling from her eyes to his eyes and flowing through his spine. He felt wrapped by her sweet lavender smell.
A warm peaceful sensation washing over his heart like he had found his home.
He realised at that moment this girl was her mate. The girl he was kidnapped, moreover she was a human. He had heard what would people feel when they meet their mate, but nothing that describe would convey any of that intense feeling.
He had always checked on her in the one week she was kidnapped. He always went while she was sleeping. As he was afraid of meeting her. He didn't know how she would react and he was afraid of that. What if she looked with disgusted eyes?
Then he remembered the time they encountered each other again. The beast. The protectiveness he had towards her increased drastically when he saw that she was in danger. He wanted to rip away the beast, but he saw something different.
The beast was not there to harm her. He was wiggling his tail and excited about seeing her. The hand he had raised was to touch her not to harm her like she had thought. But he couldn't understand why. The beast he met, he had never seen something like that before. What was it?
But for a moment the way his heart stopped when he saw her in front of it. He now understood why they said dying or leaving a mate is a worse form of pain. The possessiveness he felt when she said that Aaron was her boyfriend. He wanted to rip his heart apart.
Even if he did everything he would do to get her, she would never be his. As humans don't feel the same as them. They don't have heightened senses or the acknowledgement of finding a mate.
All he would do was to wait or to forget her. But he chose the latter option. As he didn't want her heart to be broken by his selfishness to get her.
How was he going to forget her when she was under his room? Her scent was still lingering in the room making him suffocate. He would still feel how she felt in his arms when he carried her.
But forgetting her was the best option for his heart.
