Evelyn was astonished by the house. It was the definition of modernism and simplicity. There were only a few pieces of furniture , even though they were made up of thin material.
Most of the walls were made up of glass. When privacy is needed it will change into tinted black glass by a touch. Rooms were soundproof as Xavier had mentioned.
The house was of an open plan, with the merging of indoor with nature. The house was spacious and large.
She couldn't understand that the plants in the house were for a purpose or for aesthetics. There were a lot of them. It was like the garden was inside the house. The plants were a lot greener and thicker.
The overall aesthetic of the house was in brown and white along with the green plants. The house felt warm and cozy. She felt a peaceful sensation washing over her. Even her room upstairs had a small garden connected to it.
She understood that people here like plants more than anything. Even the city she went to half of it was covered with plants. Plants that she had never seen or heard of.
She couldn't help but compare it to the human world, where the city had more pollution and had no trees or plants that could feel healthy.
How do they manage it? She couldn't understand it. She has to find out about it.
It had become evening after arranging and settling everything in the room. The first thing she did next was to take a shower, a long relaxing one for one week she couldn't take a proper shower. Then she could just sleep till she was back with energy.
She had informed Xavier to not call her for dinner as she only wanted to sleep. Xavier had also informed them that they are going to keep a new human chef so that they can be a little more comfortable.
Her body was now stretched upon the softest material that she had ever slept on. The white soft sheets were wrapped on her.
Her mind rushed to the strange blue-eyed man. There was something about him that made her curious abou him. She couldn't pinpoint what it was.
Maybe it was because she had never seen someone as handsome as him. He was the dream man of every woman back in their world. Handsome.Rich.Maybe Bachelor.
Her lids closed as sleep took over her.
Sun was already up when she woke up. She washed her face after brushing her mouth. She changed her clothes to a shirt and leggings that she had brought.
You are awake at last" Aaron said as she descended the stairs.
"I thought you were dead'' she heard Xavier's voice.
"You're bad, I won't die that easily," she replied.
You would be hungry as you havent had yesterday's dinner and breakfast"
Breakfast!
"Isn't it morning?" She asked confused
"Oh dear, you were sleeping like a sloth" Aaron said "it's lunch time".
Did she sleep for that long? She knew Aaron wasn't surprised about it, as he knows she used to sleep like this. Aaron used to make fun of her that she looks dead when she sleeps.
She took her seats as she dig into the food. Her stomach was growling when she smelled the delicious food.
After having their lunch she planned to explore the rest of the house while Aaron went to the library in the house. Xavier said that he had just come to take the forgotten file.
She first went to the kitchen, it was an open kitchen style connected to the backyard full of vegetables and green leaves. The kitchen was connected to the dining space. The dining space was with a six seater round table. It was connected to the living space. Between the living and dining space had the large tree that acted as the centre focus of the house.
There were two staff rooms and a store room on the ground floor along with a varanda.
As she took the stairs, she went left. She saw three rooms. She knew one was Xavier and Dylan. Even Though she wanted to know how the insides were, she didn't want to be a creep and invade their privacy.
But still as a creep she went for the handles as her curiosity won her over. As she twisted it she realised that it was locked. With a sigh she moved back.
She explored the rest of the space, the walls were textured and painted in white. As she got tired she went to the library that was situated ground.
She was shocked as she reached inside. She had now found her favourite space; it was this library. It was huge with books stacked in double height walls. There were cozy seats to read. Also the library was connected to an outside garden where seating was arranged.
She was more than happy. She saw Aaron and Ryan sitting on the single seater as their concentration was on the book in front of them.
She knew Aaron was not a fan of books, if he was concentrating then it would be something interesting.
As if sensing her presence, Rhys looked up and smiled at her.
"That side had their history," he said, referring to the bookshelf.
And here also some that Xavier had took and given" he said pointing to the books kept on the table.
The table was completely filled with stacks of books. She couldn't understand where to start.
The first book she saw was 'Our past: with Humans'
She took it as she felt it was the best book to start with. She doesn't know what was there past with humans.
