Chereads / Second Chance, Be With You / Chapter 9 - Déjà Vu

Chapter 9 - Déjà Vu

Since Corale knew how uncomfortable Vyrion was in a public place, she suggested ordering a taxi to the University premises.

Even though Corale knew she wouldn't get into the major she wanted, she was still enthusiastic, and hoped for a bright future, like finally being able to have close friends again.

Corale smiled sadly. Since Victor's incident, her friends choose to stay away from her, not wanting to get involved because they understand the great influence his family has on their town.

Victor is not even in prison even though the incident is a criminal offense.

Corale is only from a small family, they are helpless and can only accept the judge's decision. For the past few years, she has lived on the verge of fear and anxiety. She can't go out of town or out of the country because she has a job as a waitress in her family's bakery shop too.

It was her love for her family that made it possible for her to survive this far.

Now ...

Corale thought even though her going to England was not her wish, this might be the answer to her countless pleas with silent tears. She felt free, not frightened by the possibility that Victor would do her wrong.

At least, that is what she thought before seeing 'him' at the bus stop.

"How long are you going to be in there?"

Corale blinked and realized Vyrion was already outside the taxi. So much was on her mind that she didn't realize they had arrived at campus. She immediately came out as well with one smooth motion, "Whoaa~" she was amazed to see the size and height of the University wall which was several meters in front of her.

But … the main black entrance gate tightly closed?

Vyrion just looked bored. What's so amazing about this ancient building? He didn't understand why, "You can only watch from afar. It's study time now, outsiders are strictly prohibited from entering."

"Oh ..." Corale sighed in disappointment. She wanted to look inside because the photos on the internet looked beautiful. Guess she had to hold it in until the test.

College entrance test.

Corale still couldn't believe her mother was doing all this for her secretly, asking Gabriel for the help of course. Even her mother registered her for a scholarship from the government after she had previously given up due to the Gael incident.

'I can work to meet my college needs.'

"Vyrion? Can we find a shop that has a job wanted?" Corale asked.

"To who?" Vyrion answered disinterestedly. Looking for a job is the same as wasting more time.

"Of course to me, silly," Corale responded jokingly, but she was embarrassed at not getting any response from Vyrion, "I want to work, earn my own money, you know ..." she admitted shyly.

"I doubt that old man will allow you," Vyrion says.

"Old man?" Corale asked innocently, confused as to who Vyrion meant.

Vyrion was still annoyed with Gabriel, his lips didn't want to get dirty at the mention of the old man's name, so he looked for another alternative, "Your uncle."

"Oh," Corale remembered she had a big company waiting for her. She thought a family as big as his father would not allow their family members to work in a small shop?

"Why are you sound disappointed?" Vyrion couldn't hold back his curiosity, "you know working will take up all your time and concentration."

Shouldn't Corale be happy without having to work so hard to earn money?

Corale understood the point Vyrion meant, "I ..." She paused, momentarily hesitant to tell him, but considering that he helped her earlier, she decided to continue, "because I've been used to working since a teenager, I find it strange not to work." she confessed shyly.

Vyrion looked away.

So Corale is a hard worker type.

"If you still insist, there's a job wanted at the cafe over there," Vyrion pointed to a small building that says 'moe cafe', "don't blame me if the old man gets angry later."

Corale nodded in understanding, "Then let's go~! We can buy snacks," she asked cheerfully to which Vyrion shook his head, "why?"

"I'm not hungry," Vyrion responded dryly, "just go alone."

Corale couldn't have left Vyrion in a crowded public place. She understood very well how uncomfortable he was, "Come on~!" she sulked sweetly, without thinking holding his strong arm.

"Ugh!" Vyrion cries out in pain at the sudden electric shock on his entire body.

Corale felt it too, and let go of his hand, "I'm sorry." she regretted, and panicked to see Vyrion kneeling again due to their touch earlier, "Vyrion ... are you okay?"

In the midst of pain, Vyrion looked intensely into Corale's aqua eyes, giving her a look: does this look ok to you?

Corale was getting more and more guilty, "I'll buy you a drink."

"No need." Vyrion resisted, restraining Corale by holding her petite hand, but the electric effect returned, worse than before making his hands droop weakly immediately on the pavement, "Ugh ..."

"Vyrion ..." Corale crouched down, "I won't leave you. Rest for a while until you recover your strength to walk." If she could, she would have carried him to the cafe, but the electric effect made her not do so.

Here they are again, in the same situation, she couldn't do anything to erase his pain away, just watching him suffer—because of her.

What's wrong with them too? Why is it happening again?

Corale didn't understand.

Vyrion's brain rejected Corale's idea, "You go check, I'll wait here."

"But—"

"Hey, are you okay?"

Corale tilted her head, she saw a young woman on her knees with a look of worry in her sky blue eyes. She knew that woman is a stranger, and Vyrion didn't like strangers, but—"Can you help us please?"

"What can I help you?"

Corale smiled widely, happy she didn't hesitate to ask for help, "Could you help my friend to that moe cafe? He's not feeling well right now."

The woman glanced at Vyrion who gave her a sharp ruby eye look as if to indicate refusing Corale's request, "Are you sure, Ms?"

"Yes!" Corale replied quickly, "He may look so cold, but he big softie inside."

Vyrion couldn't believe what he had just heard.

Big softie ... him?

"Alright~!" The woman's heart melted to help, "I will ask my male worker to take him to my cafe."

"Ah ... thank you," Corale was truly grateful that the woman volunteered to help her, even having the workers at her cafe—"Eh? Your cafe?"

The woman nodded confidently until her short ash-blonde bob stuck to her white cheeks, "The cafe you're referring to is my family's cafe~!" she says, "name's Zoe Martin."

Corale's body froze.

Oh, well ...
