Gabriel came to visit as promised, telling her what activities Corale had to do before receiving the decision email from the University.
Since Corale doesn't know much about business, Gabriel hires a private tutor to boost her skills. The company was waiting for her, that was the reason.
Corale, who had intended to protest because it would take more time, restrained herself. Every word 'company' immediately reminded her of her father, and she had promised not to be a disappointment.
Gabriel also provided the email code used to register at the University.
Corale even just found out her email code changed from Gabriel. Since the Gael incident, she has never rechecked her email because it will only add salt to the wound how she is enthusiastic about getting an answer to be accepted or rejected from the University of her dreams.
Her mother prepared this.
Corale also did not want to disappoint her family who had high hopes for her. She tried, really tried...
But...
Every detailed explanation that came out of Amber's mouth, only a few of her private tutors entered Corale's brain. For the rest, she imagined what if she became a Doctor, dealing with sick patients and seeing them smile happily after recovery.
"Miss. Vincent?" Amber's voice bring her came back to reality.
Corale blinked and realized she had been daydreaming again about being a Doctor.
"Can you pay attention to what I'm saying?" Amber asked politely, but her tone was irritated because this was the third time she had caught Corale's mind unfocused. "empty your mind. Replace it with thinking your father's wish."
Corale falls silent. She tries, but her dream as a Doctor is so much bigger, and again this is the first day she has to accept the reality of not being able to achieve it. Is she wrong if her mind gets distracted a little?
"Miss. Vincent?"
Of course not.
"I apologise," Corale mumbled apologetically, picking up a black pen to write the material given by Amber. "what did you say again, Ms. Amber?"
"If you get caught daydreaming again, I think we should end the day," Amber warned as her fingers moved the sheets of the book where she caught Corale daydreaming. "I can't teach, but you're not listening."
Gabriel, who had been watching with a cup of coffee in his hand, made a sharp comment, "Corale, you can't waste your time on something that won't happen. Remember that."
Corale clenched her fists.
Not Gabriel too.
Corale understood that Amber was criticizing her, but Gabriel knew her dream. She couldn't help but let out the bitter feelings she was holding back, "I need time. Remember?"
"I already gave it. Remember?" Gabriel quickly reversed Corale's question. "Your future is already determined. You know what the moment you step into this country."
"But..."
"I'm not going to be gentle just because you're my brother's daughter," Gabriel confirmed, ending what he thought was childish. "if you find this hard, then go back to France. To your beloved home." His criticism of her without mercy. "Huh. It turns out you are just like Melani, your mother."
"What are you saying?" Corale asked with furrowed brows in annoyance. She felt there was no reason to drag her mother, this was purely her fault.
"It's obvious, isn't it? Melani prefers to be with a man who has a lot of debt than my brother," Gabriel even laughs mockingly reminiscing how pathetic Melani choose a successful man like his brother to some useless man who has a hobby of hanging out in a casino with hope can win a jackpot. "she even intends to hide you from your father!"
Corale gasped in shock. She didn't know her mother had such intentions, but she also didn't accept Gabriel saying lowly about her mother. "Keep my mother's name out of this, please. I know Mother has good reasons why she chose another man."
It's true her step-father has a bad habit but is in the past, now he changes drastically to make her mother happy, and she is proud of it.
"You make me laugh! Should I tell you how much it hurts Alfred not to be able to see you? Carry you? Giving you the love you deserve?" Gabriel snapped back more strongly. "Don't just look at one side of the story, Corale."
Corale looked down gloomily.
Her father...
Just imagining all that frustration makes Corale's heart pounding painful, and to make matters worse, her father has been living alone, far from family.
"Can you shut your mouth?" Vyrion let out his voice, unable to see the sadness on Corale's face anymore. "You said all that was pointless because Corale is a victim too."
Everyone in the room gasped.
"Huh?" Gabriel was confused. "since when did you care about Corale's feelings?" He was really confused. Did he miss something? He rested his chin, thinking deeply. Looking intensely at Vyrion then his niece. "now that I think about it. You didn't get pissed when you saw Ms. Amber. Normally you will if another person is stepping into your precious castle."
Vyrion even provided tea for all of them, including Gabriel and Amber.
Gabriel didn't think deeply because Vyrion had a cold expression and was silent, he had another important to do anyway.
"I am?" Vyrion muttered not interested. "That doesn't look like me at all."
"Vyrion…!" Corale almost screamed in panic. They had promised he wouldn't act too much so as not to arouse suspicion.
Unfortunately, Gabriel heard it and was even more confused by what was happening, "What? You're always like that! You're even happy if Corale doesn't live here."
"My precious Corale? No way."
"Yes way," Gabriel quickly responded, more shockingly hearing Vyrion use a romantic word to describe Corale. "You fell in love with my niece? Do you think I'll agree? I won't let you be another distraction for her."
"Really?" Vyrion's ruby eyes turned cold. "I love to see you try, but first, get out of my face." He raised his hand, and in the next second, Gabriel and Amber disappeared.
"Vyrion!?" Corale screamed, seeing that scene before her eyes. "What are you doing!?" She panicked tremendously.
Vyrion couldn't possibly get rid of them meant to eliminate them? That's cruel.
Vyrion shows his satisfied smile, "Just returning them to where they came from." he says like what he doing is a normal thing to do.
Corale had a bad feeling about this. She couldn't calm down before knowing where Vyrion had sent Gabriel and Amber and how they would react after being 'kicked' by him. Unfortunately, before she could speak about it, Vyrion was already in front of her, imprisoned her in his arms, "Uhm..."
"Now, I have kept my promise. How about you give me the present?" Vyrion asked with the corners of his lips interested, grinning. "because I'm dying to want to taste the cute lips of yours all this time."
Oh, no...
