Chapter 30 - Chapter Thirty-Four: Saint means Everything

Genovi:

Walking down the stairs to make my friends lunch, Saint and Celly were sleeping on the couch. Running my hands through my hair, she really needed sleep. Normally the insomnia she suffered would rob her from any trace of real sleep for a while, the bags under her eyes growing bigger by the day. Humming in the kitchen, a familiar hand touching my back. Spinning on my heels, Celly kissed my lips sweetly. Wrapping her legs around my waist, her arms wrapped around my neck. My cock stiffened, her inner wolf begging for me. Melting into her touch, my head shook. Unfortunately, I still had work. Well, maybe I could entertain her for a moment. No, there was still some work to be done. It pained me to ignore her, her inner wolf growling at me to take her.

"I have to work, Celly." I whined bitterly, wanting to take her right on the counter. "Can you give me a couple of hours?" Jumping off of me, she bowed her head in shame. Hiding her eyes with her bangs, claws growing from her fingers. Wrapping my hands around her waist, she slapped them away. Bounding upstairs, the whole house shook as she slammed the bathroom door shut. The warm water ran, Jarod popping his head out of my office. His sweatshirt was rolled down, telling me that all the work was done. Winking in my direction, the bathroom door creaked open. A sobbing Celly collapsed onto my chest, her fingers grasping my jacket.

"I am so sorry. The smell of death is in the air, and I don't know who it is. I hate these hormones." She sobbed softly, a tender blush rising to my cheeks. "My wolf keeps begging for me to do dirty things to you. Then I keep crying and having stupid emotions." Chuckling softly to myself, her cuteness causing my heart to flutter. The death statement frightened the wits out of me, unsure of what to do with it. Snapping her fingers, the water shut off. Wrapping my arms around her shoulders, she squirmed out of my arms. Stripping off my sweatshirt, her breasts bounced out. Grabbing a white bath bomb, she tossed it into the water. Shutting the door behind me, my shaking fingers locked the golden lock. Sliding into the water, she pulled on my tie. Her face was inches from mine, her other hand cupping my face. Kissing my lips lustfully, her lips refused to let me go. My heart skipped a beat, her touch ever so magical. Releasing my ties, she sank under the water. Resting at the bottom of the tub, a knock alerted us from our strange trance. Popping her head up, drops of water shattered the surface of the foaming water. Walking over to the door, a snarl curled on my lips. I was about to have some fun, someone always ruining it. Perhaps our home was getting a little crowded, my fingers moving the lock. Tammy popped her head in, her eyes buzzing with excitement. Shoving her way in, she held a black t-shirt dress in her hands. Instead of saying anything, Celly sank back into the water. Flipping her pink hair over her shoulder, a growl rumbled in her throat. This wasn't going to be good, the two were probably going to be seconds from ripping out each other's throat. Rolling up the sleeve of her rose pink blouse, she dragged Celly back to the surface. Celly's eyebrow twitched irritably, Tammy smoothing out her white pencil skirt. A snarl curled on her lips, Tammy ignoring her completely. Humming a pleasant tune, Celly had no choice but to give in.

"You are going out with Amy and I today!" She announced jovially, pulling out the drain. "You have been moping around enough. I want to go and get lunch. I need my best friend to come with me. We are getting some new clothes for Amy. I also need you to pick out a dress for a surprise for you. Don't worry, I will pay. Get dressed. We have much to do." Hanging the dress on the door, I followed her out. Her insensitivity was at an all time high today, rage simmering in my eyes. She was moping because she missed my mother, and seemed to be working through things at the moment. Tammy still lacked the basic understanding of her personality, although I understood what she was trying to do. Her shell hardened instead of softening, all of the progress had been reversed after my mother had passed.

"What is your game?" I demanded hotly, growls rumbling in my throat. "She is still broken!" Scoffing bitterly, she pulled out Celly's black boots. Rolling her eyes, she folded her arms across her chest. Chewing on my lips, the tension boiled between us. The bathroom door creaked open, hatred brewing between us. Poking her head out, she stepped out cautiously. My breath hitched at the sight of her beauty in a casual outfit, her bump really sticking out. When did it double in size? A tender blush rose to my cheeks, Tammy spinning a scarlet lipstick in her palms. Giggling to herself, my eyes narrowed in her direction.

"Stop fighting, you idiots." She chastised tiredly, finishing drying her hair. "I am going, but don't expect me to talk too much. There happens to be a bookstore I want to stop at. Did you finish your work, Novi? I will bring home some takeout, so don't worry about cooking. You two will be on your own of course. I plan on a date night with him. Just the two of us in our bedroom, and yes the lock will be locked. Go on, paint my face already." Plopping down on our bed, she waited patiently as Tammy gave her a cat's eyes and scarlet lips. Sliding her feet into her boots, Tammy braided a small piece of hair, pinning it across the top of her head. Grabbing her coffin purse, my ex-wife dragged her to their truck. Jarod popped up behind me, shoving a list into my palm. A wicked grin frightened me, his fingers running through his hair. Of course the two of them were in cahoots, a fresh growl rumbling in my throat. A big party was the last thing she needed, the empty seat reserved for my mother would only remind her of her loss.

"We are going to shop for things for the baby shower tomorrow. Tammy wouldn't drop it." He groaned through gritted teeth, my mind wondering if that would be safe. "Don't worry, it will be just us, and Sarah and her mother. Just a tiny party. Then we have to make the food. That is also the reason that Avalanche is here. I recruited him. Thomas and him will watch over our town, so don't worry there." Tossing me my keys, dread bubbled in my gut. Unfortunately, it was rather apparent I was drawn into their plot against my will. Following me closely, the two of us said nothing as we plopped into our seats. Clicking the seat belts, the engine roared to life. Trees turned to the highway, the nearest Balsart looming over us. Gripping the list tightly, people watched as we pushed a cart through the store. Have they not seen handsome men before, my eyes only for my dear Celly. Women crashed into shelves, scarlet burning our cheeks. Winking at each other, it was clear what we had to do.

"Honey, you really shouldn't be so handsome." Jarod choked out, holding my hand. "Please stop teasing me." All of the women scurried off, a fit of laughter burst from our lips. We used to do this as teenagers to get girls off our back, the trick working every single time. The uncomfortable stares faded to awkward ones, Jarod releasing my hand. Finishing up real quick, her favorite snack caught my eyes. Grabbing it, we stopped at the self checkout lanes. Scanning everything, we both split the bill. Loading up the car, Celly ran up to me. Slamming the trunk shut, Jarod's fingers were trapped. Stifling a scream, Tammy pecked his cheeks. A growl rumbled underneath his fake smile, his fangs growing longer by the second. We couldn't show her what was in the back, his fingers would just have to wait for a second.

"Hey, Novi. What are you doing here?" She queried jovially, kissing my lips feverishly. "I told you that I was going to get takeout." Tammy dragged her along, my finger pressing the unlock button. Jarod's fist slammed into my shoulder, a sharp ouch escaping my lips. Sucking on his throbbing finger, thunderous growls rumbled in his throat. A dark cloud spun over his head, his strength twice as powerful as the last time we met.

"You're still an airhead, I see." He grumbled through his gritted teeth, stomping over to the passenger's seat. "I guess having a mate has only made it worse." Biting my tongue, his remark was rather astute. Jarod only ever spoke the truth, well except for the whole Tammy incident. Rolling my eyes, his stomach rumbled. Pulling into the local burger stop, we walked into the restaurant. Celly waved us over, the girls all moving over.

"No, I didn't plan this." I whispered in an exhausted tone, Tammy shooting daggers in my direction. "Calm your girl for me before she kills me." Waving at them, Celly leapt onto my lap. Wrapping her arms around my neck, her eyebrows cocked. Her eyebrow twitched irritably, fury burning in her eyes. Shrinking back a bit, her personality seemed to be on the dark side today.

"I want you to save me." She pleaded adorably, a rosy tint rising to my cheeks. "We went to three malls, yet none of the dresses were up to her standards. She won't stop. I just want to go home." Shaking my head, a chubby waiter cleared their throat. His stringy chocolate brown was twisted into a man bun, her body sinking back onto the seat. Rolling his eyes, he took all of our orders. What the hell was his problem? An iciness took over Tammy's tone, today proving to be a difficult day with her.

"So what are you up to today?" Tammy questioned irritably, drumming her fingers on the table. "I thought you were busy today." Glaring at me darkly, Celly and Amy giving each other help me look. The food came out, all of us gasping with joy. Wiping the sweat off of my forehead, a plate saved my day. Flashing her polite smile to the waiter, his grumpy face softened. Crossing her hands, the dopey look in her eyes told me that he was trapped in her spell. How the fuck did she have this effect on people?

"Thank you so much for serving us. It looks so good." She chirped cheerfully, a genuine smile brightening his face. The waiter skipped off, Celly picking at her chicken teriyaki salad, pushing her plate away. Resting her head on the table, snores told us that she was slumbering away. All of us watched in confusion, my hands moving her onto my chest. Smiling warmly to myself, she really was exhausted from today. She was carrying my pups after all, pride swelling in my eyes. Concern flashed in all of their eyes, my lips pressing into a thin line. Teardrops soaked my jacket, my wedding ring glinting in the yellow light swinging above us.

"She is just tired." I explained calmly, losing my appetite. "She hasn't been sleeping well. So I will let her rest until her bags fade away. Now tell me why you can't find a dress for her?" Tammy rolled her eyes, her fork sinking into her salad. Jarod ate his burger, my taco salad waiting for me to eat it. Shoving it away from me, it didn't feel right to eat without her. It would be better cold anyways. Tammy's face softened, Amy watching her with a loving gaze. The two of them really belonged together, Amy already at a healthy weight. Such a sight was a blessing to behold, Celly hopefully seeing the same thing.

"None of them are her. I don't know how to explain. The level of coolness matches nowhere near hers. It is stressing me out." She admitted sheepishly, taking a bite of her salad. "Do you know of any odd places around here?" Amy gazed hungrily at Celly's salad, my wife jerking awake. Rubbing her forehead, she slid her plate over to Amy.

"I can hear your thoughts from a mile away." She groaned groggily, resting her head on my shoulder. "I am a little too nauseous to eat anyways." The signs of a migraine started to show their ugly heads, a fever burning her cheeks. Cold sweat drenched her skin, her teeth gritting with pain. Biting her lips, this one was especially horrendous. Picking up on her limits, the waiter rushed over the check. Giving her our cards, Celly rose to her feet.

"I want to go to a specific dress shop so I can get my day over with!" She snapped hotly, covering her eyes. "Give me your fucking phone so I can type in the address!" Typing in an address, she left the restaurant briskly. Pushing the doors open, her shrill scream shattered the peace. Finishing up paying, we rushed outside to see the boots with her weapons on the ground. Panic gripped my mind, a black bat winged creature carrying her into the sky. A shriek shattered the air, her claws tearing up the leathery wings. Her hair flew around her wings as they crashed towards the cracked pavement, her eyes widening with shock at the demon slamming its claws through her chest. Flipping him to the bottom, she kicked at the air for them to land into an empty shed. All of us sprinted towards them, her heel slamming into its chest. A rain of her own blood splattered all over her face the moment the claws tore her chest a part. Standing on his drifting body, a cloud of dust obscured the scene. Bursting from the cloud, her chest healed right in front of our eyes. Leaping into the air, the demon popped up behind her. Gasps of horror escaped our lips, the demon seconds from impaling her with a spiked staff. A twisted grin darkened her face, her fingers wrapping around the slim girth of the staff. Ripping it from its dripping black claws, black smoke curled off of her palm. A flash of curls flashed behind us, a black cloak fluttering behind Saint. Capturing the demon's attention, a white blade of light spun in his palms.

"Now!" He called out confidently, Celly pinning the demon to the wall of the home improvement store. Dangling from the staff, her grip was slipping. Saint mouthed a silent spell, his blade doubling in size. Swinging herself around the staff, she kept switching hands. Releasing the staff, silent tears of pain streamed down her face as Saint diced the demon into meat cubes. A steady stream of curse words flooded from her lips, another demon slamming into her body. Claws stuck out of her chest, her legs dangling lifelessly. Saint leapt off of the wall, her eyes flickering between life and death. My face paled, his sword stabbing them both. Kicking the nasty creature off of her, he decayed to dust. Coughing up blood, his lips moved a mile a minute. A white light bathed them both, the two of them floating to the concrete. The light died down, a deep gasp exploding from Celly's lips. Coughing up globs of blood, Saint lay still next to her. Feeling his pulse, a wail of agony burst from her lips.

"Wake the fuck up!" She begged desperately, her hands rolling him over. "Why did you do that?" Rolling him over, all of her wounds were his. Banging her hands on the side of her head, another wail shattered the peaceful day. Blood pooled underneath him, her teardrops soaking the ground. The servant's mark was gone, her head resting on his chest.

"Golden flames save him." She pleaded in a distraught manner, everything freezing around us. "Save him for me. He has a bright future. I would do anyth-'' Saint grabbed her arm, shaking his head. Refusing to give up, she tried one last silent spell. Her magic poured into him, blood pouring from her eyes and nose. The magic only evaporated to nothing, his hand dropping to the ground. Attempting her spell again, nothing helped. His heart beat one last time, her head bowing. Her bangs hid her eyes, the time catching up. Struggling to her feet, her bones cracked as her muscles shifted. Her clothes shredded off of her, her white wolf form sitting in front of us. Crashing into the nearby woods, the white of her tail was the last thing we saw. None of us believed Saint was actually dead, my boots pounding after her. A dark cloud swirled in the sky, several more demons chasing after her. Broken howls echoed in the still air, Tammy and her family running for shelter. A demon was inches from my face, a flash of white protecting me.

"Go away!" She screamed in a shattered tone, tears dripping from her golden eyes. "You killed my friend. He didn't deserve that. I command you to leave. You aren't welcome on Earth or near my family. " Not believing that she was actually speaking in her wolf form, her legs quaked violently. Howling boldly, golden waves of energy destroyed every single demon. The hole in the sky sealed shut, her body swaying. Frozen in her spot, fat teardrops crashed to the loose dirt.

"Please don't cry for me. You gave me a good couple of weeks." Saint's voice echoed around us, a white ball floating in front of us. "I was bound to die anyway because I removed the servant's seal. I couldn't have you dying on me. I am free to go to Heaven now, so behave for me." The ball floated up to the sky, his body decaying to a flurry of snow white lily petals. Laying down, her muzzle rests on her front paws. A look of defeat dimmed her eyes, the flames all gone. Embracing her snout, her paw shoved me away. Hurt darkened my eyes, knowing that it wasn't my fault. Her wolf was sore from the loss, a servant and master bond most powerful. Transforming back to her human form, the numb look in her eyes scared me. All of her powers were sleeping, her naked body shivering. Taking off my jacket, she allowed me to place it over her shoulder. Placing her on my back, people stared as I walked her to my car. Setting her in the front seat, it pained her that she had no body to bury. Clicking in her seat belt, my fingers picked up her boot. Sinking into my seat, the engine roared to life. Mulling over the current situation, this was going to be a difficult situation to fix.
