Sam's screams resounded in Desmond's ears as he held the phone closer to his ears. The former Desmond would never care about Paige's whereabouts or whatever crimes she committed, but this was Sam, and being with Sam these past months began to make him soft no matter how hard he put up a tough front. No one knew the changes he was going through on the inside, only he did. Samantha was now his concern.
"Fine! I'll get you the documents," he released the words in between his teeth. "Do not harm a hair on her head."
"Oh dear, I can't promise you anything. I do, in fact, love to torture all of my offenders, and you, dear wife, aren't an exception," the voice mocked him, and he hung the phone on it. He turned in Baron's direction, the veins popping out of his forehead.
"Baron?" he said, slowly but with an underlying authority in his voice.
