Fae was currently overwhelmed with fear. He thought that his title would be able to save him as it had with the twins, but suddenly he was deemed 'unworthy' and now only had himself to rely on.

He stared back up at Joseph and it was as if time froze. He seemed to remember every bad experience he ever had, the bullying, the torture, his death. He suddenly honed in on a specific memory of the night of his death.

Fae was on the ground covered in cuts and slashes the Tremble Twins had given him, he was riddled with injuries from broken bones to crushed and destroyed organs, his entire guts on display from the giant slash going straight along his body. "Come on Jaren lets finish this." Joseph Tremble called as he used a giant serrated stone he pulled out and began to perform heart surgery on a living Fae.

Fae screamed at the top of his lungs begging for help "PLEASE! NO! I'M SORRY, DON'T DO THIS!" Fae screamed as he pleaded for life. In the end white streaks began to appear on his hair as he screamed his last air of breath and fell into a permanent sleep, death. Suddenly the memory continued past what Fae previously remembered.

In the silence of death he met a glow, a golden glow brighter than any glow he'd seen so far. "So you're the devourer? Cute." The voice said with a firm tone, mocking Fae. "You died so pitifully... I'm embarrassed. Come to me Fae, I shall make sure you're never weak again. I shall show you who you truly are, I shall show you true power." Fae was walking towards the golden light as it shined brighter, flashing across his vision and blinding him.

Fae pulled his attention back to Joseph standing over him ready to finish him off. 'What was that' Fae thought to himself, he hadn't remembered that before and was surprised the memory suddenly appeared in his head. 'What was that light? Show me true power? That sounds like the green light, but he says pressure. What's going on?' Fae's mind was racing with questions he wished that he had someone he could ask them too, but as he stared back up at Joseph's flaming eyes he knew he didn't have time to think.

"Wait!" Fae screamed as Joseph abruptly stopped his scythe that was just inches away from decapitating Fae. "You know something funny?" Fae said with a nervous laugh. "Oh? Are these your last words?" Joseph said as his flames began to burn intensely, slightly burning Fae's skin even though it wasn't touching him.

Fae took a deep breath, resolving himself before he spoke his next words. "the last guy I met named Joseph, I killed him!" Fae shouted as he swept his leg under Joseph's causing him to fall.

Fae climbed on top of Joseph and began to barrage him across the face with heavy punches. Punch after punch after punch he let all his anger and frustration out through his fists. Joseph's face became riddled with bruises and blood, but Joseph's face remained blank and unchanged. Through a bloody mouth Joseph finally spoke. "Are you done?" Joseph blankly said as he raised his head up to head bump Fae.

"Not done yet!" Fae said as he dodged to the side of Joseph's head put his hand in front of Joseph's face and slammed it back down to the ground, continuing his barrage of punches.

Joseph eventually grabbed Fae's hand and looked him in the eyes. "SOUL GAZE!" A dark spirit left Joseph's eyes and entered Fae's. This was one of Joseph's most devastating attacks, he used a piece of his soul to attack yours and scan through your mind.

Fae immediately fell to the ground screaming in pain. Everyone watching thought this was the end of the fight, the moment everything was decided. "GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!" Fae screamed as he fell to the ground and collapsed. With Joseph standing blankly beside Fae, his consciousness split to the part of his soul inside of Fae.

"Well, I guess I won this fight." Joseph said in a bored tone as he began to head further into Fae's soul, ready to read through his memories.

"Hmm this Tessa girl appears a lot, maybe I'll comfort her after I kill him." Joseph let out a nefarious laugh as he continued to search deeper in Fae's memories, looking for his real name. "Why is his name so deeply hidden? Don't tell me he's truly someone who happens to share our last name." As soon as Joseph had this thought an overwhelming pressure stopped him in his tracks.

He looked up to see a red light glowing at him. "Why are you peaking around somewhere that you have no business? You're lucky I'm the one that found you." The light said as it walked towards Joseph reaching his hand out. "Here's your punishment." As Crimson said this he placed his thumb against Joseph's head. Suddenly Joseph had a taste of his own medicine as Crimson searched through his mind. He saw everything, all the pain and expectation his family had placed on him, all the tragedy and loss he was forced to suffer through.

"I'm sorry, in my day I would've taken you to a better place, but sadly you're up against Fae not me. It sucks though, maybe you guys could've been friends in another life." Crimson spoke even though Joseph couldn't hear him from the sounds of his own screams. "Now get out of here!" Joseph screamed as his spirit was shot out of Fae's body and back into his own.

Fae stood up from the ground with a slight headache reminding him of what had just happened. "That was your big move?" Fae asked Joseph who was staring at the ground in fear.

"I- I- you-" Joseph was in distress because of the attack on his spirit. He was overcome with fear as his spirit was marked and harmed by crimson. 'Succumb to the fear.' A voice in the back of Joseph's head called to him. 'Let it consume you.' As the fear began to take over Joseph let out a blood curdling scream.

"HELP ME!" Joseph screamed as his own flame began to burn around him uncontrollably.

"He's having a bloodline failure, end the fight NOW!" Arthur screamed rushing towards the arena. "NO!" Red screamed as he imposed his aura on everyone in the crowd and the examiners. "The fight isn't over yet, if you dare attempt to stop it you'll have me to deal with." Red had faith Fae could win and grow from this fight, and he refused to let it end early.

"Fine the fight continues, but if the kid dies it's on you. That's an S+ rank bloodline failing." Arthur said as he sat back down in his seat. Humans were never supposed to be able to handle the powers of Mythical beings, because of that there was a condition known as 'bloodline failure' where in moments of mental weakness the bloodline may attack the owner. This led to cases of the owner becoming more powerful but at the expense of the users sanity and sometimes even life.

"AHHHHH!" Joseph continued to scream until the flames fully consumed him. A gust of wind began to pull towards the center of the arena as Joseph stood there, all the bloodline energy in the area flooding to his body.

Joseph's entire body was wrapped in a black flame coating as if it was armor, in his hand the scythe had grown even larger, and his eyes lost all white taken over entirely by darkness. A long with that Joseph suddenly had a new radiance to his power, even the energy in the air seemed to react to his presence. Fae knew all to well what that meant.

"Spirit rank 1!"
