Chapter 6 - 6. Unusual feelings

"Why is it impossible?"

That line was somehow so magical that Sankara couldn't stop smiling to himself with both hands under his head. The boy who was wearing a black T-shirt felt his heart which was still left with a dag-dig-dug vibration when he was with Atthera that afternoon on the school rooftop.

Ah, why can love make him so stressed out? But it seemed that the universe would not let his simple happiness last long because of the shouting of a middle-aged woman from outside his room right now.

With a lazy step, Sankara opened his door knob. Her eyes looked flatly at Sarah, her stepmother, "What drama do you want to make?" Sankara asked opening her voice. He swore that he would rather see Sena angry at him than to see the face of the woman in front of him. Damn! Why is he thinking about that bad girl?

"Mind your manners you son of a bitch!" Sarah scolded him sharply. That made Sankara exhale heavily. Hadn't this become her daily bread? Being berated, insulted, and never considered by her stepmother.

Not wanting to prolong the problem, she chose to enter the room again and intended to lock herself up. But Sarah stopped her first, "I actually don't care whether you want to eat or not. Have you eaten or not. I was told by your father to invite you to eat together downstairs," Sarah said scathingly. It would be a lie if Sankara's heart didn't ache hearing those hurtful words.

Sankara grinned sarcastically, "You think I would?" she retorted, then shut the door firmly in Kafka's biological mother's face. She would rather eat with the dogs than have to eat with people who were no different from animals. Just imagining Kafka's face busy seeking attention with his father made her blood boil. Let alone having to see him in person. No way!

Although his stomach had not been filled with anything since this afternoon, it was not a big problem for Sankara. He could hold off until tomorrow morning. Because if he went out tonight, of course his father would tell him to eat at home. Just as he was about to go to sleep, the ringing of his cell phone made Sankara get out of bed. He frowned in confusion because Sena's name was displayed on his cell phone screen. How did that girl know his cell phone number? Feeling that it would only be a waste of time if he picked up the ringing phone, Sankara chose to ignore it despite the fact that Sena would not just give up until he picked up the phone.

"What's wrong with you, anyway, ha? Gang-"

Just as he was about to utter scathing words, from the other end of the phone Sena spoke in a trembling tone, "T-help me S-san please," she squeaked like a frightened person.

Hearing that without much question, Sankara took his leather jacket that was hanging behind the door. Sankara went out, not forgetting to lock his room. The man ran quickly as he crossed the dining room where his father and stepfamily were having a warm chat. He ignored his father's call telling him not to leave the house. The only thing on his mind right now was Sena.

"Sena, you listen to me, okay? Breathe slowly and now tell me where you are?" asked Sankara as he started his motorcycle.

But the answer that came out of Sena's mouth made his jaw almost drop, "WHAT?!"

*****

This is where Sankara is now. Don't imagine that he will have a big fight with the thugs or kidnappers tonight with Sena crying screaming in fear. Because the fact is now he is sitting in a park near his home complex with a flat face and an angry expression. The man refused to look at the girl who had been giggling beside him.

"That's right, San. Let go of the anger. I was just joking," said Sena after calming down his laughter. His stomach tingled as he remembered Sankara who had approached him a few minutes ago with his face bent in annoyance. Yes! He deliberately called that fierce guy late at night just because he wanted to invite him to eat pizza together in the park near Sankara's house. Sena knew that if she asked Sankara to meet for an honest reason, he wouldn't want to. That's why Sena acted on the phone as if he was in a serious position so that Sankara would come out and meet him. In addition to these ridiculous excuses, the truth is that tonight Sena couldn't help but miss the bad boy.

"San," Sena tapped Sankara's arm without hesitation. Again, the response was the same, just silence that refused to open his voice. Ah, he felt a little sorry for pranking Sankara. It would have been useless if they had just kept quiet like this. After all, it was better for him to scold her than to be cold like this.

Sena exhaled heavily. He felt guilty for definitely disturbing Sankara's rest time, "It's okay. I'm sorry, San for disturbing you. I'll go first," she excused herself because Sena thought she had done enough annoying things today to put Sankara in a bad mood.

But when he stood up and was about to walk away, Sankara opened his voice which made Sena stop walking, "Please leave and don't bother me anymore forever."

Hearing that Sena's lips lifted up, forming a bitter smile, "Okay," he replied briefly.

"Sena," Sankara's call managed to make Sena turn his body towards him. The man stood up and approached her.

"You know what? How worried I was when I heard your scared voice? Do you know how scared I would be if you got hurt, and after that you casually said that it was just a joke? Do you have a brain, Na?!" Sankara snapped unconsciously right in Sena's face which made him close his eyes in fear because it was the first time he had seen Sankara that angry at him.

"I did that just because I wanted to see you, Sankara!" replied Sena after managing to muster the courage to look back into the eyes of the boy in front of him at the moment.

"What? Why do you want to see me?" asked Sankara, who was clearly confused by Sena's ambiguous words.

Although stunned, Sena was able to answer Sankara's question casually, "Y-yes, I want to invite you to eat together," he replied by pointing to a pizza box lying on a garden chair. His answer received a flat stare from Sankara.

"I'm not hungry." Lying. Obviously Sankara was lying because he was actually hungry too.

Sena's face looked pained, "But San, I'm tired of acting so I can meet you and you can only refuse my invitation?"

"I didn't ask you to do that," he said with his shoulders twitching in indifference.

Whoever it was, please save Sena from Sankara's presence now, because he was so embarrassed! With his voice getting hoarse, Sena took his food back, "Well if you don't want it, I can eat it myself," he squeaked.

Sena was a person with exorbitant prestige. He doesn't want to show affectionate attention to the people he cares about. He only did this out of compulsion because he didn't know what else to do in order to meet Sankara. He couldn't talk spoiled or instead of calling Sankara and then talking softly, and asking the man to meet him. No, Sena couldn't do that. But for Sankara, Sena was willing to do anything even if he had to defeat his prestige.

"Eh-eh," Sena was surprised when his pizza box was grabbed by Sankara.

"You want to eat, right? Just shut up," she snapped at Sena's confused look.

In his heart, Sena squealed with delight as Sankara told him to sit back down and fed him painstakingly. Yes, even though the man's face was as sour as a lime. If they were now on the rooftop of the school, Sena was sure that he would have beaten that unsightly face. But he couldn't deny that the help of the lights and moonlight allowed him to see Sankara's handsome face tonight. Oh my! What was he thinking, anyway?

"I know you're crazy Sena. But you don't have to smile, right? I know I'm handsome," Sankara joked confidently, raising his eyebrows.

"Stressed," Sena sneered even though he agreed inwardly.

"No, I'm not. I'm not hungry," Sankara refused when Sena's hand with a slice of pizza was extended towards him.

"Do you know San? If you lie about something, then you will get another lie from someone," said Sena who actually spoke only wisely. But his words were effective in making Sankara quickly eat a bite of pizza from him. And yes, there was a bribery scene now.

Without Sankara knowing that his words saying that he was worried about Sena's condition earlier, and all his treatment tonight to the girl made Sena's heart rustle violently. Sena was quite sensitive to her own feelings. She knew when she liked someone and vice versa too, and Sena realized that she was experiencing unusual feelings for a clumsy boy who often cursed her at school. Those insults and all of Sankara's nagging at her that used to make her upset and angry, were now an addiction to her.

"You like Atthera, huh, San?"

Sena's unexpected question made Sankara pause. He knew that Sena had threatened Atthera. But he didn't know if Sena also knew about his relationship with the chairman's girlfriend.

"I don't know the girl you mentioned."

Unexpectedly, Sena laughed blandly.

"Ah, yes. Let me tell you which girl I'm referring to," Sena said with her index finger now hovering in the air. Sankara watched him closely.

"One. Atthera, the famous good girl and girlfriend of the chairman of our school's disciplinary committee."

"Two. Atthera, a bad girl, the future leader of the A3 community."

"Three. Atthera's your best friend."

Sena smiled broadly at Sankara who was silent because he was shocked that he knew who Atthera really was. Oh, and Sankara and Atthera's friendship.

"So, which Atthera do you like, San?" asked Sena casually. In contrast to Sankara's nervous movements. This was bad! How did Sena know all those secrets? Damn! This is very dangerous.

"Who are you Sena?" asked Sankara coldly.

"I'm just an ordinary girl who lives with no pretense."

"Listen to this Sena." Sankara unconsciously held Sena's shoulders firmly which made the girl grimace in pain, "I know you're not just a bad girl. But you're also a girl who lives with all the obsessions that are inside you. Really, I don't care about that. There's just one thing you should know. I won't let a single person touch or hurt Atthera. Whichever Atthera you mean."

"And I won't hesitate to hurt whoever that person is," Sankara put her lips to Sena's ear, "Including you."
