Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

HE'D hurt Philip. Badly. It was a good thing he was a vampire who couldn't die easily, really.

Philip was quite excited by what had happened and told him he'd done great. He'd told them all to go back to the house as he needed to fix his wounds and fractures. He also told Timothy he was to come the next day because he was still emotional and needed to be a bit rational to train.

The walk back was silent and no one said anything for a while.

"You know, you're kinda scary," Johnathan said when they were at the entrance of the house.

"Hey, it was all just a surge of emotions," Sapphire defended. "It wasn't intentional."

Johnathan said nothing in response, but just stared at Timothy whose attention didn't seem to be on them. Johnathan opened his mouth as if to say something, but no words came out. So he smiled at them.

"I'll see you later then," he said brightly. "I'm going out with my friends so..."

He gave them a wave before leaving their presence with the speed of light.

"Let's go upstairs," Sapphire said, nudging Timothy by the shoulders.

Thankfully, no one was around to give them looks or ask questions. They were all probably busy. It was weird because the night was their daytime. Or maybe they just didn't want to run into them.

"Take a shower, then come to bed," Sapphire instructed as they got into their bedroom and she locked the door behind her.

Timothy nodded, not wasting time to strip to the surprise of his mate. If he was in his right mind, he'd blush even if it's a little bit.

He went straight to the bathroom and Sapphire heard the click of the door being closed, then it being locked. She tried not to worry about that.

Sapphire'd wanted to ask him about the bleeding that happened a while ago, but decided to keep quiet about it. She'd ask him later.

Diane wasn't necessarily uncomfortable in the room, but that didn't mean that she didn't want to leave.

No one had hurt her ever since she'd been brought to the mansion, thankfully. They made sure not to return her cellphone after calling Timothy's cellphone. Sure they made a few threats, but nothing was being carried out and that made her wonder why the Mavericks hadn't done anything. Did they have some other ideas? Obviously, they'd want Timothy, but from what had happened to Rowen, they were good at torture so why not torture her? She wouldn't ask though, so as not to give them ideas.

The room she was in was simple and had space. There was a bed, a desk with a chair, a wardrobe and all. There were two windows that gave a view of the surroundings. It was nice.

"Hi."

She turned away from the window to see a familiar head peaking through the door.

"Rowen," she whispered.

He grinned. He walked in with a tray in one hand and a hand in one of the pockets of his pants.

"I came to see you," he said, kicking the door closed. "With breakfast."

She moved to seat on the bed which was close by.

She patted the space near her. "Sit."

He did as she said and placed the tray on the bed, removing the cloth covering on top to reveal some toast, milk and cereal.

"I don't usually take this type of combination but I'll take it," she said. She silently looked at the healthy-looking man and said, "You don't look injured."

Rowen smiled. "Yeah." He stood up from the bed, carrying the tray to place it on the desk. "I'd been going to classes and doing things since Timothy left. I only came because they told me that you were taken here."

"Yeah." She continued, "What else did they--"

Rowen placed a finger on his lips. He took out a paper and pen from the back of his pants, then he started scribbling furiously.

Diane, curious, stood and walked closer to him to see what he was he wrote.

I heard them talking. They won't hurt you, they need you and Timothy for something serious. They were talking about the prophecy that he's involved in and how it'd benefit them.

Diane's brow furrowed at the words. Prophecy? What on earth was going on?

"I don't--" Diane started to say when she heard the door suddenly pushed open.

Timothy didn't shed a single tear. Diane was going to be alright, he was hopeful. He felt annoyed, angry, exhausted and a bit terrified that they'd hurt her. She didn't deserve any of that. He really needed to save her.

Timothy switched off his phone and had no intention of switching it on till he had an idea of how to save his sister. Even if he called Rowen, what would he do? He was already hurt before.

He'd barely slept because of his thoughts.

He'd fallen asleep in Sapphire's arms, an arm around her waist. He was grateful she didn't say or ask him anything yet. He wouldn't know what to say anyway.

"Good morning," she'd said when he opened his eyes.

"Good morning," he craoked, struggling to keep his eyes open. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, you?"

"It was alright."

He could smell her fresh breath and scent; she must've taken a bath and brushed already. He knew he should follow her footsteps, but his body felt weak.

"Go back to sleep," Sapphire whispered, eyes bright as she kissed him on the forehead. "Close your eyes, cutie."

He didn't struggle against her and just did as she said, no complaints. Her warmth and sweet scent made him easily drifted back to sleep.
