Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

STUPID. Timothy knew his idea was stupid, but that didn't stop him from attempting it.

His plan was to offer himself to The Mavericks in order to see his sister. Once he's inside, they could think of a way to escape. Hopefully, he'd see Rowen there.

He came back to the room with some snacks in hand, thinking about what excuse he'd give Sapphire for taking so long.

"You were gone long," she said, eyes on her phone as she laid on the bed.

"Yeah. Sorry."

Sapphire said nothing, but that didn't put Timothy at ease. He knew that she knew he was doing something. Her not saying anything made him really nervous and made him want to immediately apologize and just spill everything. But he was doing it so as not to put her in unnecessary danger. He wondered if them being mates made her aware of certain things about him. Could she tell how fast his heart was beating now? He really needed to know more about the whole mate thing.

She looked up to take the snacks he'd brought and still said nothing as he sat down beside her.

"Training again tonight, right?" she finally asked.

"Yeah," he answered. "I'm getting really good."

He had no intention of missing training. But before the night ends, he would go straight to Dr. Holloway's car so he'd drive them to The Mavericks. The doctor knew where the place was, which was good because Timothy wasn't sure if he remembered.

"Lord Clementine hasn't said anything, has he?"

Timothy answered, "Looks like he doesn't care that much."

Sapphire frowned. "That makes me really pissed off because we didn't come here just for you to train. This wasn't the plan."

"It's okay," he said, not wanting her to get too angry.

It wasn't, but that's why he was going to do what he was planning.

"Quick question," he started, remembering something.

Sapphire motioned for him to continue.

"Ar--Are you pregnant?" he mumbled.

Sapphire paused her eating and looked at him in silence, then let out a loud laugh. At the odd expression on his face, she laughed a bit more.

"Excuse me? W--what kind of question is that?" She laughed.

Timothy didn't expect her to laugh at his question, but wasn't offended. He was just curious.

"I'm just asking because of..."

"Because of?"

"That time that we did it that morning," he mumbled.

"Oh," she said, understanding him. "I'm on contraceptives. I prepared myself in case something happened between us, which it did."

"Oh."

She smiled. "Don't worry. I know we're not ready for something like that. Especially not me."

"Yeah," he said, relieved.

He had no job and was even missing classes, adding to the fact on who he was. If they had a kid now, he'd probably be considering suicide. No jokes.

"What about you?"

He looked at her. "You asking me if I'm pregnant?" he teased, to which Sapphire laughed softly.

"You bled through your ears and eyes that night I told you about your sister," she said. "It scared me, you know."

He remembered. "Oh."

"Got anything to say?"

He nodded. "The bleeding through my ears... it has happened a few times. But it's the first time I've bled through my eyes." He didn't know why it was happening to him, but with all the things going on around him, he just never bothered.

Sapphire frowned. "Why didn't you say anything about the ears?"

He shrugged, feeling guilty. "Because it never hurt much. I could handle it. I still can." Then he muttered, "And I just didn't want to bother you."

Sapphire sighed. "We're going to talk more about this properly when we're done with all of this."

He nodded obediently.

She looked like she had more to say, but she just closed her mouth and just shook her head, looking back at her phone.

***

Timothy was glad when the night came. He went straight for training after eating and recieving a kiss from Sapphire.

He went earlier than usual and took his time to get ready for Philip Darke. The training didn't last long because Timothy said he wanted to take a break which the vampire didn't protest to. He just shrugged and went to his usual wood carving and said he could come back if he'd like or come back tomorrow, as long as he promised not to take a break then.

Timothy knew he was taking a leap of faith by deciding to go and willingly be taken by some werewolves who were kinda pissed about what he did to their people.

"This is quite stupid," Dr. Holloway said the moment Timothy got into the car. "And your girlfriend will definitely not forgive you."

"Yeah, I know," Timothy admitted.

If they'd taken a moment to look back at the mansion to see if there's anyone looking at them, they'd have seen a very angry-looking Sapphire staring at them through the window as they drove out the driveway.
