Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

TRAINING started at night. Timothy didn't know what was said to get certain persons to welcome him in, because whatever it was, it worked. They were so welcoming and respectful.

He'd eaten in the dining hall, but Sapphire had no interest in joining him and so he went alone. Everywhere was quiet when he ate because nobody came for dinner, but he didn't mind, because when he went to return his plates and came back, he heard some noise.

Some persons were seated, it was a bit rowdy, but became silent the moment he was seen.

Timothy had to admit that he was surprised at what he saw. Yes, they all looked incredibly pale and with red eyes. But they also looked normal. They were dressed in normal clothing and acted like normal people. Except for the blood that filled each person's cup.

Someone abruptly stood up, catching his attention in the silence. It was some lanky boy who had a buzz cut, piercings on his ears and a tattoo on his neck.

"Hello," Timothy let out at the awkward silence.

The boy seemed fierce as he stared at him, wiping his bloodstained mouth with an arm.

"Timothy Bishop."

Timothy didn't want to be rude, but lately, he found himself wanting to be like that. Everyone was just being weird and annoying around him. He'd never been so annoyed and exhausted ever in his life than ever since that necklace.

"My name is Johnathan. You can call me Johnny."

He nodded. "Nice to meet you."

"We were told about your arrival yesterday. Sorry we weren't able to meet."

Timothy responded, "Everywhere was kind of quiet. So I assumed you all went somewhere."

Johnathan grinned and placed an arm around his shoulders. "I like you."

Timothy raised a brow at him. "Thanks?"

"I heard you came with your girlfriend," Johnathan said, everyone's attention still on them. "I can still smell her. Quite nice."

Timothy was definitely annoyed now.

"Are you Lord Clementine's son?"

Johnathan laughed. "Nope. I'm your trainer's son. After eating, you'll meet him."

"Okay."

Johnathan grinned. "Everyone! Introduce yourselves to the newcomer."

Timothy held himself from saying that he wasn't a newcomer, more of a visitor. But he said nothing. He didn't know what they were told, but he hoped it wasn't anything about him staying. He barely knew them. He also barely remembered their names as they introduced themselves to him. He didn't remember their faces except Jonathan's and the girl who was flirting with him from before... He didn't remember her name though.

They walked outside into the cold night. Just him and Johnathan though. He was told that the other vampires had their own training the other day and were being given a break. But it was likely that after dinner, they would come to watch him.

"So, where's your father?" Timothy asked as they came into the training ground. It was surrounded by trees, and the land looked so dry but when they walked into the warehouse close by, he was surprised by all that he saw.

"Dad!"

"You're the one I'm meant to train then," a man sitting down by a table with some glasses on, by a large table, carving some wood said. He looked heavily muscled with tattoos all over his body.

There were different heads of animals everywhere. Different weapons and sculptures made of wood, metal and more.

"Good evening, sir."

"Respectful, I like that." He paused. "You should learn a thing or two from that, Johnny."

Johnathan rolled his eyes. "I'm not here for you, dad. He's here for you."

The man shook his head, then proceeded to take his gloves off. "My name is Philip Darke and I'll be your trainer for the meantime."

"My name is Timothy Bishop."

"I know who you are." He stood up, stretching his muscles as he continued, taking off his glasses. "And I know what you are. I also expect you to at least throw a good punch at me today."

"I--"

Timothy was suddenly sent flying, face hurting and eyes widened in shock.

***

Sapphire frowned and cursed at the device that wouldn't stop ringing.

It'd rang a couple of times and she refused to check it out because she felt lazy and was just trying to sleep! But she was sensitive to sounds and because she'd expected Timothy to come soon for his phone, she never attempted to silence it.

"Maybe I should," she muttered, moving to the side Timothy slept and reached out to pick up his cellphone. "I should silence this shit."

Her eyes widened when she saw who's name was on the caller ID. She should've assumed it would be no one but Rowen or Diane that would be calling.

God, what if something had happened?!

"Hello."

"Hello," a small voice answered. "Tim?"

"No, this is--"

"This is Fredrick Filt."

Sapphire's cursed silently. She knew who this was. She'd seen the twins at that party. And the twins were the ones who hurt him that one time too. Fredrick was the calm one... In a way.

"What do you want?"

"Timothy Bishop," he answered. "Unless he wants to see the dead body of his sister on his doorstep. You see, I haven't paid him back for hurting my men."

"You people tried to kill--"

"He has undead blood in him, he'd have been fine," Fredrick interrupted. "Now... There are many ways to hurt a woman, and a woman such as yourself knows that, I bet. I don't mind trying out different things, Sapphire."

Sapphire's blood ran cold. She was angry, she was scared and felt helpless. She knew her spewing threats wouldn't do anything. Diane was on big trouble and her saying anything to anger him would cause her more pain.

"What are you going to do to her?"

Fredrick laughed. "Relax, I'm not a monster. Well... Maybe not all the time. Just get me Timothy. Thank you and good bye."

Sapphire felt an angry tear drop as the call dropped. She needed to tell Timothy. But she also couldn't because he was training now.

Should she wait?

Should she just try to find him and tell him first hand?

Would that make his training harder?
