"What?!" One of the many dragonfolk in the palace shouted! Those dragonfolks were important figures that Ellis had brought in to talk with the dragon, the dragonfolk was old and his voice was rough, he wore nothing as most dragonfolk but he had an air of authority around him. "The dragon needs the ancient scriptures?!"
"Do you wish to defy the wish of the dragon?" Drake spoke slow and clear, those words made most of the priest shiver, how could they anger a heckin dragon! Dawn gasped in surprise at Drake dagger like words, most Aura Practicioner were extremely honest but it seems that it is only natural for dragonfolk to be cunning.
"N-no! Go get the ancient scripts you bafoons!" Drake smiled at the action of the other dragonfolks as he began to walk to a corridor with fancy paintings and pottery, Dawn followed right behind him as he said, "Done. Pretty easy, wasn't it?" Dawn followed right behind him, "Did you just deceive them?" Absolute rules said that they can't deceive anyone but he wasn't suffering any Aura Purgation.
"Well, she does need the scriptures to remember doesn't she?" Drake was refering to Emilia, Dawn nodded in comprehension. Soon Drake and Dawn arrived to an empty training place, due to the Emilia arrival everyone went to see the dragon, "Alright, take this." Drake threw a small purple badge towards Dawn, wich miserably failed to catch it as Drake threw it a bit above her head.
"..." Dawn looked straight into Drake eyes wondering if he had done this on purpose, "Sorry.. Though you were a little higher." This answear soon earned Dawn's annoyed shout, "I'm a kobold! Stop making fun of my size!" Drake had stepped into a mine, and the two began to bicker at eachother for a while until Dawn finally asked what was the badge for
"It is my verification that i am an aura warrior. Keep it and people won't find trouble with you here. Give it back once you are leaving at the Aura Guild." Dawn nodded and took a deep breath, this day is a bit too rushed for her tasting, she looked up at the sky with a wry smile as a few days ago they were rushing here, Dawn turned back and went back to the main room of the palace where everything was set for Emilia's arrival.
...
The crowd sheered for the dragon and emperor walking side by side as they walked through the beautifull dragonfolk empire, the structures were and shops were well designed and very pleasing to the eye and the town continuous shouts of praise and worship at Emilia made her like this town even more.
"S-so, Great Chrono, what do you think of the city?" Ellis asked anxiously, Emilia seemed to like this town.
"Looks good." But what Ellis received was an uninterested response. Truth was Emilia wasn't paying attention to anything but the mana in the air, the quantity was so much and also so dense, she wanted to stay here forever! No other place felt so satisfying to breath afterall.
"Oh, ok! When we arrive at the palace there will be a banquet awaiting for you!" Now food peeked Emilia's attention, she nodded in approval and started to quick her pace, Ellis sighed in relief and also quickened his pace.. Well until the dragon suddenly said, "I will be at the palace entrance waiting for you! See ya later scaly man!" and in the next instance the dragon disappeard.
The crowd suddenly gotten silent and the poor emperor sighed, and started to run once again while shouting that the dragon had arrived at the palace.
At the palace, to Emilia's disappointment the banquet wasn't ready.. But Dawn was here so she was happy. "Chrono, i managed to get some priests to get some books about mana." Emilia smiled at that, she could finally make some progress to become the strongest of all dragon and dragonesses! 'Nice ambition, worthy of my core soul essence.' Emilia happily accepted Chrono's praise and gave Dawn a big hug.
Dawn instantly fell to the ground due to the difference in weight and that Dragons couldn't really balance themselfes on two feet very well, thankfully no priest was there but there were still a few spectators, "Love you so much Dawn~"
"Oof- No worry's Chrono, everything for my little sister, right?" Emilia and Dawn laughed a little at that statement and then Emilia instantly appeard standing at Dawn's side, Dawn slowly got up and petted Emilia's head and soon after she could hear a dragonfolk fainting.
A few minutes latter, the Emperor arrived at his palace at a scene he never expected to see, many priests were looking at a big kobold with disdain in their eyes. Ellis sighed and immediately identified Dawn as an aura practicioner, he didn't dwell much on the fact that she was a kobold.
"Lizard guy, there was no banquet here at all!" Emilia shouted in disappointment, "Besides, shouldn't kings or emperors live on a castle?"
Ellis frowned once again, he slowly seemed to understand the mentality of that dragon, by the way she is close to a kobold and has absolute no air of authority but just a faint aura of domination that he was sure all dragons had Ellis had made a guess that this dragon was actually.. A child!
'A dragon has descended, but it is just a kid..' Ellis looked at Emilia and walked forward then he asked, "May i ask how old are you?"
"About 23, why?"
Everyone looked at the small dragon with disbelief, had they done all of this for a child? How could they have not guessed it earlier, it was literally on their faces!
"So.. Where are your parents little one?" Ellis asked with a friendly smile, 23 years old in dragon years is below 4! Dragons can only be considerated teens at 400 and adults at 1000.
"I'm not little! And i don't know?" Emilia silently began to ponder about her relatives. 'You don't need to bother yourself with it. We don't care about them.'
Emilia was about to refute Chrono but decided it wasn't worth it.
"She has amnesia." Dawn entered the conversation and said calmly.
'I have amnesia?' Emilia tilted her head and was about to question it but Chronos acted faster, 'Go along with it you idiot. You can get something out of this.'
"Oh, thats bad."
"Indeed, that is why i ask if you could bring records of dragons and about mana to help her recover her memory." Dawn smiled as Ellis sent out a few knights to go and pick some records from the library.
"..So, do you actually only have a palace for yourself? Emperors like you who usually are at war for territory have protected castles and-"
Ellis quickly interrupted, "First off, i don't even know why i am called an emperor. My father was one but i am not. And the castle is actually reserved for dragons, in this country the churchs have more power than me. I have only 20% of the military power of the country, the rest is all the churches, i also have nearly 0% judiciary legislative and executive power, needless to say that this is a country controlled by religion."
"Oh."
As they waited, the knight quickly arrived back and some priests also came back aswell..
