Somewhere in a beautiful forest, a big kobold and a small dragon were surrounded by dragonfolks, 10 to be specific, all who had an expression of disbelief in their faces as they looked at the small dragon, for them dragons are gods, worshipped at churchs and very popular in literature books aswell. The dragonfolk had ambushed them from the sky while they were cooking, though Emilia detected them, she had mistook them for birds as they were deemed too weak by her draconic senses.
But one of the dragonfolk was special, he was an aura practicioner brought by the other scouts just in case it was an otherwordly creature they were dealing with, that same dragonfolk wasn't surprised that there was a dragon but he was rather surprised that the dragon was following a lowly.. Oversized kobold?! And that kobold has more control over aura than him, the poor dragonfolk felt like he was trying to peek through a solid wall while looking at Dawn, there was no way he could see through her, he was stunned.
"..Dawn are we getting ambushed yet again?"
"Seems like we have a charm for it."
"And i didn't even get to eat anything.."
Emilia looked disapointed towards the nearly perfect roasted bunny on a big stick! It's begging to be eaten!
Dawn instantly looked at Emilia with a questioning gaze and said bluntly, "Chrono, of all things you could possibly do, say or even think, food is the first thing that comes into your mind?!"
In the next instance, all dragonfolks glared at Dawn, if looks could kill she would have been died over 10 times.
"HOW dare a lowly member of the LIZARDMEN RACE speak to a deity like that!"
"Blasphemy! How dare that bitch talk to a supreme one like that!"
As the dragonfolk slandered Dawn, Emilia was quite amused, all those people were defending her AND treated her like a higher being, she could definitely get used to this.
"That isn't even a lizardmen, it's just a kobold.. a very big one."
The dragonfolk that had discovered Dawn race finally spoke, still slightly shocked that he was undeniable worse at aura control than Dawn.
"WHAT?!"
All the disdain and anger that the dragonfolk had towards Dawn just tripled! How dare a lowly, scum, worse than trash kobold talk down to a deity!
"Psst, Chrono, mind giving me a paw?"
Dawn whispered to Emilia who was still enjoying the situation.
"How?"
Emilia whispered back and tilted her head, there was no way she could control so many people just because they think highly of her, right?
"Dunno, you are their god so say something!"
Dawn whispered a little more desperately as the dragonfolk began to draw their swords and spears, although she had the might and prowess of being capable of destroying a whole kingdom with one sweep of her sword but as an Aura Practicioner she must follow strict rules, those rules are enforced by the aura itself and not anyone else. One of those rules specifically says to not harm any mortal with aura under no circumstance, breaking this rule would make the aura flow stop, wich meant no further progression.
"O-ok!"
Emilia quickly cleaned her throat and got ready to stop them with words, she was thinking of multiple words that she could say that would make her look like high and mighty.. But unfortunately, someone had beaten her to it.
"Stop you fucking ingrates! You are attacking an aura practicioner!
Suddenly, the same dragonfolk who had discovered Dawn proficiency with aura aswell as her race shouted angrily at the other 9 dragonolk
"But-"
"No buts, we already protect all of your arses from what you would call demons and yet you want to fucking kill one of us?!"
"We-"
"Fuck all of you, i'll take care of this shit. Rit go back and inform commander about it."
"Y-yes sir Drake!"
Rit quickly flew off in the direction of the empire, a little faster than normal as he feared Drake might do some aura shenanigans and mess with him.
"..I didn't even get to say anything."
Emilia was utterly disappointed as she watched the dragonfolk stealing her time to shine! She even had thought out of a whole presentation, but the dragonfolk ruined it!
While Emilia was thinking of multiple ways to get revenge on Drake, all the dragonfolk who were slandering Dawn instantly became quiter than a desert.
"Atleast one of them has some commun sense.."
Dawn sighed in relief, now that a terrible situation has been defused she watched Drake scold each one of the dragonfolk harshly and felt relieved until she noticed Emilia was approaching them and instantly got worried, afterall she is their god, 'what if she asks them to do something stupid?'
As Emilia approached, some dragonfolk looked excitedly, some thought the little dragon might bless them! Sadly Emilia didn't have that power yet.
Emilia looked straight into Drake eyes, all of the flying-humanoid-lizards around her had eyes gleaming with suspense and were expectating something that displayed the mighty prowess of a dragon!
"Thank you for helping me!"
"..."
Unfortunately for them Emilia wasn't a legendary dragon that slept through millions of years and only woke up to stroll around and give mortals powers just to pass time yet.
"..No problem?"
Drake seemed rather surprised, he never expected a dragon to thank him in his life.
"Can mister help us reach the Dragonfolk Empire? My current guide is very bad at directions."
"BAD?!"
Dawn shouted from right behind Emilia.
"Yes, bad! We would have been there by now if you weren't bad!"
"You are the fault that we did not arrive yet! We deviated from our tracks three times because you wanted to 'look around'!"
"You know what?! I'm just gonna fly there right now!!"
"W-well, you can't-"
"WHY?!"
Emilia head turned towards the dragonfolk that spoke in a blur.
"Because there is a natural mana barrier around the city so.."
"WHAT?!"
"Chrono, i told you about this yesterday when you were too busy 'looking around'."
"I- You didn't speak loud enought!"
Dawn looked deep within Emilia's eyes and she immediately broke eye contact, Dawn took that as a win on her side and said, "Alright let's stop this now Chrono, don't you want to look around the dragonfolk empire with me later?"
"Yes!"
Emilia happily answered and went to Dawn side as if nothing happened, while most of the ambushers sighed in relief as the mighty dragon didn't release it's wrath on the land because of the stupidity of the kobold but Drake could vaguely see the two of them as good friends, 'No, that can't be it, there is absolute no way a kobold would befriend a dragon, they have the lowest amount of dragon blood on their bloodline."
"Lead the way scaly man!"
Drake sighed, looks like his new nickname is scaly man. Drake took the lead back to the empire, a lot of people will be happy to see a dragon when they get back. Dawn quickened her pace and got at the side of Drake, giving a quick glance she could definitely see that Drake was handsome, had a well built physique and by the density of his aura, was about to complete the Elemental Awakening stage as his aura vessel was in almost perfect harmony with the elements, Dawn decided to take the chance and ask about places with high concentrated Outside Aura so that she could search there later.
Emilia looked around more excitedly as her body could feel the density of mana in the air tickning the closer they got to the empire, 'You walk weird, y'know.' The moment Emilia heard that she sighed and thought, 'here we go again..' as she kept looking at the beauty of the forest around them and vaguely listening to Dawn talking with Drake ahead, 'Emi, walk like a dragon and don't embarass me by trying to walk like.. A dog.'
'Did she just call me a dog?'
Chrono wasn't trying to anger Emilia but he managed to do it, though her face was blank on the outside. 'Front right paw goes first then left back leg, use the claws on the back leg to get a solid ground and pull upwards both paws on the ground to walk faster, like a small jump but not actually jumping and always try to synchronize your steps with our 'heart', go it? And for god sake, you are a dragon not a human, do not try to walk on two legs! I don't even know how you manage to fail even to walk properly, it should have come first instinct..'
Emilia sighed at Chrono's continous chattering inside her head, she decided to do what she was told as the least thing that she would want is headache.
Immediately after trying to walk 'right' she began to feel more comfortable? 'Didn't i say so? Stop trying to walk like a dog and don't even think about walking on two legs.'
Emilia thought, that only for this once, Chronos seemed to teach her something rather usefull!
