Chapter 11 - His Sorrow (Part 2)

Continuation...

Grey was stunned after a while when something unexpectedly entered his mind.

"You always bring him up to me, and I almost noted down his life story; may I ask what caused his death?" Grey asked after he had a big question constantly in his mind, because even then he could hear his great-grandfather's name from his father's mouth and from the mouths of all the creatures in Hyena. He knew that that individual played a huge role in their territory and in the entire Cartesian that until now everyone continues to be proud of, but the cause of his death remains questionable for Grey.

His father immediately looked at him and his eyes seemed to be filled with sadness after he said that.

"He died when I was young but we had a strong bond, which to this day I will never forget. According to the analysis of the other werewolves after finding him lifeless inside his room, he died because of the poison. Until this moment no one knows who planned it on him." Oliver's statement was the reason why Grey's eyes almost widened after hearing his father's words as if a detail entered his mind.

"We all know that only witches have the ability to poison, don't we? Maybe they are the reason my great grandfather died." The boy gives an opinion the reason why Oliver suddenly smiled because of the sharpness of his son's mind. Grey knows what power each Cartesian creature has and some details about them that is why his father admires his brilliance so much despite its age.

Oliver instantaneously took a moment to relax and gently press his son's back, as if what he was about to say was a sermon that his son should meticulously pay any attention to.

"That's what our kind used to conclude, but we don't have enough evidence to accuse them, Grey. It's terrible to indict and just point someone as a suspect when we cannot be certain of our scepticism. For a short space of time, I also met those creatures in Beldam, and they are decent beings, despite what others think. They are just like us who long for Cartesian quietude and serenity, so let's not judge them too quickly as possible." Oliver said as he smiled that it seems that his desire is that the connection they have is real, and that Samuel will never deceive him.

He and Samuel had talked a few times before, and for a short while they had a good connection, and if you really look at it, they have become friends. So he had an idea to agree on the territory of both of them, for widespread unity. So he came up with the idea of combining the territory of Hyena and Beldam for mass unity, and now is the moment where he and Samuel will talk about the reconciliation of their territory.

"But they are the only ones capable of doing that, father. If they didn't assassinate the former leader of the entire Cartesian, then who?" Grey said it was as if he still believed what he wanted to believe, and was not convinced that the witches were not the cause of the man's death.

"Grey—"

"I am not passing judgment on them; the evidence clearly demonstrates that they were the main reason of my great-grandfather's death. I effectively do not want to disregard the truth. Don't you think that maybe the ruler of Beldam only befriends you, because he has a personal interest? He might do something unpleasant to you by the time you get along." The boy cut off what his father wanted to say, because it would surely emphasize his belief that witches were kind.

"I know Samuel; he has never desired danger on another being, he possesses the most wonderful personality I have ever met, and I will never be persuaded that their bloodline has anything to do with anyone dying in our territory. Grey, one day you will fully comprehend everything as well, just open your heart to what reality asserts." Oliver said emphatically as he smiled and ruffled his son's hair, he knows and believes that one day his son will also get what he wants to convey.

He considers Samuel a friend, and that will still prevail in the end.

"Dear Alpha, we received a letter from the ruler of Beldam, who says he and his henchman Elias are on their way to our territory right now." A servant of the alpha named Rosario mentioned the reason why a smile suddenly appeared on the man's lips as if saying that he was happy to hear that the first creature and its territory that trusted him and his place was coming. In his entire life this happened only now, and he could not measure the joy he felt in these moments.

The woman has also been a servant in the Hyena's territory for a long time, and she is also the one Oliver trusts when it comes to maintaining the cleanliness of their palace, and the food that is placed on their table. In a short time, the girl became close to Oliver and Grey and it cannot be denied by the way they bond.

He immediately nodded which is why the servant left immediately and he faced Grey after that.

"That is how much Samuel and his territory trust me, Grey; he didn't bring all of his allied troops with him to make sure his safety, and he didn't really think we'd do something unfortunate to him; his willingness to join forces with us is comprehensive, and I believe our territory's unity has a destiny." Samuel stated emphatically as he rose from his seat to await Samuel's arrival.

You can notice the change in Grey's facial expression as if he was convinced of what his father was saying, and the doubt he felt suddenly disappeared.

"Regardless of the outcome of your conversation, I will remain by your side, father."
