Chapter 16 - The Misgiving (Part 1)

"No! Tell me that's not true! Tell me! I expected you Elias to guide my husband, what did you do? Why were you the only one who came home?! Why did not you even protect him?" Yolanda immediately cried out at the same time as she was in tears, she almost pulled Elias's clothes because of his refusal to protect her husband.

"While the high priest was in the middle of eating with the leader of the werewolves, Oliver. Suddenly, the Hyena leader's mouth foamed and out of nowhere they accused your husband of having a plan for everything. that is because only witches can do that. I could not protect the high priest anymore because too many creatures surrounded him at that moment, and started hurting him until he died. I am sorry if I did not saved his life." Elias mentioned at the same time as he bowed down that he seemed sad about what was happening, immediately Yna looked at him who had been quietly crying on the side.

"But I was able to tear apart all the creatures around him just to protect him even though I knew it was impossible. You could have done so much, but why didn't you even do it!" Yna shouted loudly at the same time as she went to Elias's place, she looked at him while her eyes were full of hurt as well as pain.

Just now she did not see him around, if he was really concerned about Yna's father he would be around and trying to stop the events, but he was not there.

Elias looked at Yna in disbelief as if he was hurt by what the girl was saying, but he could not blame her because she was in the middle of grieving the loss of her father so he just extended his understanding at the same time he looked at the girl's face.

"It is not my intention not to help him. I have served him for a long time, and I never wanted him to be in harm's way. I am sorry, I know I am a blasphemer at this moment, because I didn't do anything to help him as well as to protect as that is my primary responsibility. My brain was just confused at that moment, and I was in awe of what you did Yna, you were braver than me and had a stand while I did not have the courage to fight. I was taken with a great fear that they might involve me, believe me, I did not want this thing to happen." Elias mentioned with tears falling.

(As he remembered the moments when the high priest was punished and how he witnessed Yna protecting his father.)

"As I stated the leader of the witches can't be trusted, he managed to poison our Alpha!"

"The leader of the sorcerers was really greedy for wealth and authority, he even managed to attack our territory by killing our leader. Those disciples of darkness can never be trusted!"

"He is just pretending to be a friend of Alpha, he just took the inside of our territory but he really intends to conquer us when the time comes."

"Witches cannot be trusted!"

"Kill the leader of the witches he never deserved to live in this world, kill him!"

Yna could not understand why her father was being blamed for that incident, her father could never do that. He would not be able to kill an innocent being for his own interest, his father was not like that. She can not stop herself from being so annoyed by what she heard, she could not stop herself from shouting and defending his father's image.

She was not there at that moment, in the event that the alpha poisoning actually happened, but she was sure that her father would never be involved in it.

Her father did nothing but good, and welfare to many. He is not greedy for any wealth, authority, or any treasure so that or will be enough reason to kill a being. He is beyond good father and responsible leader in Beldam, he never killed a creature to preserve his wealth.

Her father had no interest in such things, compared to other leaders of other territories, so she could not help but be hurt by the judgments she heard about her father even though they did not know the whole truth yet.

"My father is not like that! He is a good leader in our area, and a close friend of your leader, he will never be able to kill him. His intention in coming here is pure, and there is no purpose but to achieve peace and the welfare of everyone. You do not have enough evidence to say that he is an evil being, and that he planned it all. My father is not like that!" Yna repeatedly said to people who say bad things about her father, she kept crying at that moment and she could not handle her emotions anymore.

She wanted to be strong but she could not, she did not want to hear anything bad about his father, because first of all, whoever knew him deeply, it was only her. Because while she is growing, she saw the goodness in everything that her father does, and he never taught her anything that would harm and hurt their neighbor.

She believes that the way your parents raised you, you are the same. And in these moments Yna has a strong belief, that she is not doing anything bad, because that is what her father taught her.

Because of what she said, she immediately caught the attention of the people present, she did not know what caused them to laugh, whether it was because of what she said or because of the reality, that she was just a child.

Whatever was the reason for their loud laughter, she just ignored it, only being able to defend the one man who had been defending her from then until now.

"My father is a good person, do not judge him. He would never be able to betray anyone, and destroy the trust of your leader. I am only a child, a young one but I already know the truth from lie, I know you are old and can think deeply, but hopefully at the same time you don't judge anyone. Especially if you don't really know them very well."

"Do not pretend to be a victim there, have you seen the condition of our leader? Only witches are capable of making a poison that will only lead to death for anyone who eats with this substance. Do not make us fools, if in you think you can get away with those excuses of yours, well you are wrong!" A civil guard yelled at her at the same time as he pulled her arms, it could be seen that the individuals around her were very angry because of her words.

She could not stop crying at that moment, hoping to find her father in that chaotic place and escape so that they could live quietly and peacefully as before.
