Chereads / Beatrice and the Lord / Chapter 7 - Deserted Village

Chapter 7 - Deserted Village

Beatrice and Mel walked back home after the had gone to the village to find it deserted.

It was strange to find the village that was once filled with wolves and few humans deserted, but then again, nothing was said to be strange in their world.

"Grandpa Pablo!" Mel yelled, as she ran swiftly to the old man that was gathering firewoods.

They old man turned to see his two daughter's running in to his arms.

"Where have you two been, you've made this Grandpa of yours very sad." They man mumbled, as a tear left his eyes.

Beatrice sighed and cleaned his tears.

"Sorry Grandpa, some men came and captured us and took us out of the village to the heart of Viscoria." Mel said, and hissed.

"Hmm, tell me more." He smiled, as talkative Melissa continued with her babbling.

The long table that rested on the ground of the cold meeting room, was brownish in colour as it grey colour at the foot of the legs seemed to darken as time went by.

The Lord of Viscoria, sat at the front of the table as fifteen chairs were placed at the sides making the chairs Thirty in total.

Men and women walked in to the room, and took a seat till they chairs were completed and each person was complete.

"Milord." The Alpha of the Cougar clan stood up and gave a bow.

"It would do your clan and yourself a great deed of good if you have a positive report for me, Alpha Cougar." The Lord of Viscoria sighed, as he played with his bracelet.

"Milord..it would be my pleasure to always bring good news but I bring negative news today, Milord." He said, going to his knees.

The Lord of Viscoria nodded, his eyes boring on the bracelet that was tired round on his wrist and that seemed to change colour every time he touched it.

"Speak!"

"A woman mate in the cougar land was caught having affair with another mated man." Alpha Cougar reported.

The room seemed to darken more, even though the sun was blazing outside, the other alphas that had taken their seat shifted in their chairs. The male clenched their fist while the female clutched their dress.

That was a forbidden act.

A mated woman and a mated man were supposed to get pleasure from their suppose mate and not from another's mate.

The Moon Goddess had created the mating ritual for each wolf to find it's mate and get tangled with them.

It was forbidden for a mated wolf to pleasure another man.

According to the Law, they will get punished during the full moon that is coming two nights from today." Lord Wolfarine spoke and stood up, walking to the window.

"Years ago, way back before some of you were born. My father, they formal leader of this pack made a vow and I will keep to it and each and every alpha here will have to do the same." He said and turned to them.

"Next!" He called, and the next man stood up.

"In the Cougar clan Millord...."

"Why does it have to be the same clan, Alpha Cougar. Seems like your people are loose to the core. Would you like me to reprimand them for you, I can do some damages." It was Lady Morgana who spoke with a smile.

"Alpha Cougar smiled, and turned back to his book.

Lady Morgana was a ruthless Alpha, no doubt she'd killed all his people before they could even get the reprimanding.

"Hmm?" Lord Wolfarine hummed, letting them know he was there and he was still waiting.

"A wolve took a vampire as a mate."

He tensed, his eyes shooting up in a fast speed that no one noticed.

"What?" He asked, and the man sighed.

"They are mates, and I allowed it." The Alpha mumbled, staring at the floor.

"No, how dare you. We can never be connected to the other creatures."

"Those blood sucking parasitic things!"

"They have to be separated and the vampire has to die, thankfully it is not a Cold-blooded one."

"Shut up!" The voice was not loud but thick as everyone who had their tongues rolling out of their mouth, kept quiet In a fast pace.

Lord Wolfarine walked back to his seat.

He didn't know how to handle this one, it was after all, a key to his mate.

"Millord?"

"Lady Morgana." Lord Wolfarine called the woman, who had never said a thing as the Alphas banter.

Lady Morgana being a witch was given a clan to take care of.

Long ago, when the Vampires had decided to go to war, some people had stood their ground and Lady Morgana was one of them despite of their nature and all, she had stood and fight for them.

"Hmm, Milord?"

"You heard me quite well Morgana."

"There is nothing wrong about taking a mate Milord, no matter who he is or she is, the moon goddess has given you something so special. It is your own choice to accept the inevitable or you take the other way." She said, biting her fingers as she stared at the table.

"Hmm?"

"You have heard Lady Morgana, stop bantering and let us hear peace." Alpha Cougar said.

Lord Wolfarine stood up again. This was a crucial decision.

"Let them be!"

The hall was quiet as each one of them stared at each other confused.

They didn't expect their Lord to accept it.

Lord Wolfarine was a hard man, it wasn't every day a man like him showed sympathy.

Lady Morgana looked up, and a smile crept to her lips as she watched the man that had gone back to the window.

"Dismissed." He said, and everyone began leaving the hall silently.

He knew he was not alone, and he knew who was still waiting to get out.

"What insect had flown to the dark flower, very blind I must say." Lady Morgana clicked her tongue.
