The journey to the town of Viscoria was slow, unlike their previous journeys, as the carriage rode slowly due to the items they had loaded on the carriage.
Beatrice stepped down from the carriage and sighed, stretching her hands.
"The journey was indeed slow sister," Mel said, sighing.
"Hmm.A mansion." Beatrice said, turning to the older man.
"This belonged to your father Mr. Pendragon." The man said, staring at the huge Mansion.
"Papa never said a thing about living in Victoria." Beatrice frowned.
"Enough talking, and more packing." The older man hushed, as she furrowed her brows and the frown deepened.
"You're trying to avoid the talk now Grandpa Pablo." Beatrice huffed, for her sister to sigh again.
"I'm so tired." Mel sighed again, as she picked up the little items she had dropped in the carriage.
"This is not fair, I don't get to pack the huge items and unpack them again!"
"Life is never fair dear sister." Mel yawned.
Three maids ran out of the mansion to help with the packing.
"Madam Beatrice." They gave a bow and smiled.
"Hey.." Beatrice mumbled, not sure of what to say.
Grandpa Pablo laughed, shaking his head as he rubbed her back.
"This is Avila, Aquila, and Olin." They are sisters and have been serving for a long time now.
"A long time?" Mel asked for the butler to nod.
After the maid had taken their belongings inside, Beatrice turned to look at the man that smiled at him.
"Did you age because you are a half-vampire?" Beatrice asked the man to nod his head with a smile.
Mel smiled and hugged him.
"Just keep being out Grandpa." She chuckled for Beatrice to smile.
"Lady Beatrice." They all heard a feminine voice called.
Turning to the other mansion that had lawns and flowers by each side, Beatrice looked up to see a lady on the Patio.
"Ha, Lady Herbert, the voice did seem familiar." Beatrice smiled and gave the lady a bow.
"How have you been Beatrice, seems you moved over." The Lady said to have Beatrice nod with a smile.
"I'm having a makeover with some few ladies, care to join?" Lady Herbert asked Beatrice to shake her head.
"I better not Milady, I would not want the women to think you brought an intruder," Beatrice said to have the woman laugh.
"Nonsense, if it is the women you speak of, do not worry. You will love them, by noon be ready to come for the makeup..it is for the Lord's banquet." Lady Herbert said, before leaving the patio.
"She seems nice, how surprising of a woman of the Elites. I heard they were raised like brats and leeches." Mel cussed.
"Be careful of what you speak dear sister as they say; the walls do have ears and they speak more loudly than humans," Beatrice commented.
"Aye Milady, who is this maiden to offend a fallen Elite?" Mel said sarcastically.
"It's okay now, get inside and arrange the stuff with the girls." The older man said, and the two girls walked in to go on with their jobs.

"Don't whisper, they can hear you, Mel.. sometimes I wonder if you are a vampire with a low IQ for reasoning." Beatrice glared at her sister who shrugged.
"It's not like I'm badmouthing them, sister, they are old..very old," Mel whispered and sighed.
"Good morning Ladies." Beatrice greeted, walking into the kitchen.
"Do not flatter us, Milady. We are no Ladies." the one called Olin spoke first.
"Good morning Milady." Both Avil and Aquila greeted.
Smiling at them, Beatrice walked to the stove and got a pan.
"No Milady, you do not have you worry about the food, we will cook."
"Ha, pardon me, but I'm used to making my s," Beatrice said to have them nod.
••
Hours Passed and Beatrice was already at the doorstep of the Sebastien.
"Milady." A man came out and smiled at her.
"I am the butler of the house, and Milady has instructed me to get you inside. Please do come in." The man paved the way for her to get in.
"Lady Herbert." Beatrice walked to the lady who smiled at her.
"Lady Beatrice, it has been so long since we had a neighbor. Ever since My father said, it has been a long time since our last neighbor left the place, said it has been deserted ever since." Lady Herbert sighed.
"Your neighbor? Wasn't it my family?" Beatrice asked with a friend, thinking about what Grandpa Pablo had told her.
"Your family? It wasn't your family Beatrice come to think of it, what is your last name?" She asked, and Beatrice gave out a small sigh before answering.
"Pendragon, Beatrice Pendragon."
Lady Herbert stilled and gave out a small smile before walking away.
"Lady Herbert, do you have something to say?"
"No Beatrice, I just want to let the maids know that the coffee has to be heated before Lady Yuan gets here."
"Lady Yuan? the name sounds familiar Lady Herbert." Beatrice said and the woman nodded.
"There is no need to act formally with me Beatrice, we are both adults and I am not that aged like the others." Lady Herbert said to have Beatrice smile.
"Lady Yuan is a close friend of the Lord. She's more like a sister, but they are not related by blood. The Lord has just one sibling and he is Alpha Zane of the Tiger Pack." Lady Herbert explained.
"Hmm, it seems complicated," Beatrice commented and the woman smiled.
"Many things have to be complicated Beatrice, the world is not a better place."
"I agree with you Herbert, the world indeed is cruel," Beatrice said, to have the other woman chuckle
"Now well well well, who do we have here in our midst Herbert?" A voice brought the two ladies out of their discussion to have them looking at the door.
"Yuan." Lady Herbert said and smiled.
Beatrice looked up and Lady Yuan was staring at her closely.
"And you're?"
"Beatrice Milady, Lady Beatrice."
