Mrs Pete turned on the television in the sitting room, Mr Pete was reading a book on wealth, wasn't dad already rich I thought, glancing over to Mike's at the dining table, who was working on his laptop ,which seemed to really please dad as I caught him throwing regular glances at Miles. The atmosphere was cool for any other Saturday morning, although Emma was literally bored, having nothing to do, just sitting beside mum and watching the obviously boring ancient movie mum always loved to see. Sarah walked in through the front door, Mile's eyes followed her as she walked in rather gracefully, obvious of the fact that Mike's was watching her , she didn't really understand him. He was the type that was not interested in ladies but on the other hand, one would find him being very friendly with the female folk but then there was nothing more to that. Catching a glimpse of her friend, Emma jumped up excitedly, "thought you said we'd be going to the beach today ?" Sarah asked walking away with Emma. Emma whispered something in her mother's ear and her mum gave her an affirming look and she left with Sarah. "Oh yeah, I was waiting for you"Emma said as they approached the dining room, Miles smiled at Sarah , she returned the smile charmingly, "what's up, we're going to the beach, I want you to join us"Sarah said, her eyes as soft as moonlight, "uhm...(he scratched his brows) no", Emma came downstairs dressed to leave, "why wouldn't you be coming?" Sarah asked further hoping that Emma would help her persuade Miles. He didn't look away from his laptop this time. "Miles why don't you come as well, you've been working on your computer lately, taking some time off would do you good" Emma said wrapping her towel around herself, "oh no, you girls should go on, I'm busy with work, I've still got lots more to handle today"Miles managed to say. It wasn't easy saying no to Emna. Sarah turned to mum and dad, "Bye Mrs Pete" and using her eyes said same to Mr Pete . Enna and Sarah left, Miles called out after them , "I'll join you guys some other day". It wasn't his fault the main reason he was avoiding being at the beach was because of Riona, their neighbor who worked at the beach had been hitting on him for sometime now but he was in no way interested.
Sarah and Emma searched for a comfortable spot to relax. The sun was bright like any other summer afternoon, they found a spot and soon brought out their things . Both ladies relaxed with yoghurt and some home made popcorn, Sarah had brought from her house. This was the best time, Emma thought. "What's with Miles always starring at me?"Sarah asked trying to hide her smile. Miles wasn't the kind of guy one wouldn't be pleased to find him starring at them. "I don't know, maybe he just feels like"Emma said not wanting to make Mich out of it, even though she knew Sarah was ready to talk about it all through their stay here. "no, what are you trying to say, see...(she sat up) he doesn't look at Grace or Brenda that way, I don't get Miles seriously"Sarah was saying...."well , do you guys usually chat on phone?" Emma asked sipping her drink a bit slower , " rarely"Sarah said, "he once posted something about girls being a very big issue and when I asked him further on that he said I wasn't an issue though" Sarah said with a smile. Emma laughed, "Miles is complicated, he doesn't have any girlfriend and critizes my boyfriend Ryan, he doesn't fancy any thing female (she laughed)well apart from me(Sarah hit her playfully) he doesn't also fancy marriage either (she sat up mischievously) but maybe he fancies you!" . Both girls burst into laughter as Sarah hit her arm again playfully and hurriedly packed into her mouth alot of Emma's popcorn. Emma cried.....admist laughter.
