The woman looked cheerful and as Ophelia looked at her she let out a sigh of relief.
"Hey", she said with a smile on her face and without knowing it Ophelia smiled back at her.
"Hi ", Ophelia replied as she studied the woman.
The color red looked great on her and it seems like she knew it. She wore too much red but it brought light to the room.
She left her bed and put on a white lab coat and wore a pair of gloves that were on the table beside her bed which she had not realized before.
She studied the table there were syringes on it and bottles of pills and she wondered what they were used to treat.
"So how are you feeling today ?", the woman asked her as she shook a bottle that contained a certain liquid which she realized was medicine when she put the syringe in and extracted some of it.
"I am doing okay am just a little bit confused ", Ophelia said.
"Confused about what? ", the woman asked her as she came back to the bed.
She still had the syringe in her hand.
"I just don't remember anything ", Ophelia said as she felt comfortable and relaxed.
"What do you want to know ?", the woman asked her as she took the syringe and found a vein where by she injected her with the liquid.
"You will feel a little lightheaded but it's okay it's the effect of the medicine ", the woman told her.
"What's my name ?", Ophelia asked her.
"You don't remember your name? I think it's because of your condition. It makes you forget things maybe that's why. Your name is Lidia ", the woman tells her as she smiles at her.
"Lidia? That's a weird name right ?", says Ophelia chuckling.
"I don't think it's weird ", said the woman and Ophelia could finally feel the effects of the medicine kick in.
She felt lightheaded and all of a sudden her eyes felt heavy and she could feel herself dozing off. She tried fighting the feeling of sleep but the medicine was too strong.
"What's your name and who are you ?", she asked the woman and she could see her lips moving but she could not make up a word of what she was saying as her eyes shut and she fell into slumber.
__________
She didn't know how long she had been asleep She was in a room that had four walls surrounding her with no window or door.
Where was she?
She looked around but there was no one else with her in the room. It was just her and the bed she was sleeping on.
She sat up and looked at her hands and noticed that there were bruises all over them
She felt like there was something familiar about the room but couldn't point out what it was. It felt like she had been here before but there was no recollection of that memory.
Her body was covered in bruises some looked like they were from a long time ago as they looked like they had fully healed hit she didn't even remember ever getting them.
"PROJECT Z", said the words that were on the wristband she had on.
What was project z? Was she some kind of experiment or did the words mean something else?
There did not seem to be any medical equipment in the room so it was clear that she wasn't in a hospital.
Maybe it was in jail. Maybe it was some modern jail that had been constructed and she was a prisoner.
No matter how much she wanted to believe that what scared her was the fact that she didn't remember anything.
What had she done?
Why was she locked up? Had she killed someone?
There was no way she was capable of doing something like that right?
She looked at her hands and didn't know what to believe. What if maybe she was capable of killing someone?
Their methods were working out she thought. Maybe the whole idea was to lock her up in a box so that she could completely lose her mind and she was on that road already.
Maybe she did kill someone, she couldn't think of something that someone could do that was so bad that could get her to be looked up in solitary.
She tried not to think about it but it seemed like it was the only thing that her brain was focused on. She wanted to think of something else, but what?
She didn't even know her name. A memory stroked her. A name but she couldn't quite catch it.
Or maybe she was in a psychiatric hospital because why then would she be dressed in a white gown and fuzzy socks?
That made more sense right?
She was sick and maybe was suffering from memory loss. It all came together as she looked at the marks on her body.
She had harmed herself maybe she thought and that was why she couldn't remember anything.
That version of the story seemed more believable so she decided to stick to it. Was it true though?
A question at the back of her mind that wanted her to lose her mind.
Why would they lock her up alone like that if she was sick? Did she ever leave the room?
She was in limbo trying to get answers to things and no matter how much she thought of it there was no possible answer.
All she seemed to do was confuse herself more.
Suddenly she felt a movement and wondered where it was coming from. A space opened in the room and a man stepped in with a tray.
"Hey ", she said as she stood up but the man didn't say anything either he was deaf or he hadn't heard her.
He set the tray on his hands down and turned around and left the room immediately the space closed itself and she was alone all again only with food this time round.
