Josiah shrugged. “I honestly don’t know. I know that if it meant protecting me, he would ‘donate me to another pack’, so I can only assume someone is after you. But the fact that he hasn’t told me means he suspects someone in your pack or our pack.”
While Mila could understand the twisted logic, it really wasn’t how she would do things. It just left her frustrated and in the dark. She detested the feeling.
He took the tub out of her hands gently. “Now that we know what’s wrong, how about a proper meal? We can figure this out, in time. Please be patient with him.”
Mila sighed and stood up. She made her way to the fridge and took out the meal she had wrapped up for Josiah. She set the plate on the counter.
“That’s for you. I think I’m going to have a sandwich,” she told Josiah over her shoulder as she reached for sandwich ingredients.
Josiah’s face lit up. “Thanks, Milz! I appreciate it.”
