Chapter 21 - 21 THE HEAVY RAIN

Princess Chu Hua jumped up from her dream with fear.

"It's a dream." Princess Chu Hua mumbled as her heart pounded in her chest. She held the haft of her sword so tight out of fear. She tried to sit properly as she lay on the tree trunk. Footsteps were approaching her from an unknown side. Princess Chu Hua could hear the footsteps, but she didn't understand which side the footsteps were coming from. They were neither coming from behind, by the side, nor opposite her.

The forest was dark because the sky was pregnant, which couldn't allow the moon to shine brightly on the land. The tall trees were also contributing to making the place darker. It occurred to her mind that the dream she just had was about to happen. She gently turned around to check if she could see clearly what was approaching. She scans around the bush with her eyes like a lioness who is waiting for prey. The footsteps finally stopped. Princess Chu Hua was breathing heavily, and her mind wasn't at rest. Her thought was that the person or the wild animal has sighted her and is about to attack her.

She slowly took out her sword and waited for the attack. After a few minutes of waiting and nothing showed up, she gently stood up to leave. She walked tiptoe from the tree she sat down. Princess Chu Hua was still afraid that she might come in contact with the enemy she wasn't seeing.

Thanks to her creator, she managed to disappear from the area. After a long time of running away from the enemy, she finally found a place to lay her head until morning.

Commander Lucifer found himself in the deep dark forest, wandering. He heard a movement sound ahead of him, which made him stop. Commander Lucifer listened closely to the movement that was coming out of the darkness. His thought was that it was a wild animal, rather than a human being.

"What the hell will a normal human being be moving in this dark forest?" commander Lucifer asked himself rhetorically. Forgetting that he was also a human being walking through the forest looking for someone.

He quickly brought out his sword as he stood still for a while. Commander Lucifer waited until the movement had finally stopped. Unbeknownst to him, it was princess Chu Hua who was moving. He was on his guard as he lay on a tree and carefully searched the environment. Nothing came up, and he lazily dropped the tip of his sword on the ground and sat down on the ground, which had few leaves on it. Commander Lucifer was too exhausted to move from where he was. Besides that, it was already too late for him to continue walking in the forest. He sat there, and within minutes, he was fast asleep. Out of tiredness, commander Lucifer threw away his spear on the way.

Prince Junfeng was also on his own in the forest as walked, feeling weak, thirsty, and hungry. The moonlight was his savior through the forest. The little light the moon was providing to the earth helped him to see some places to set his feet for advancement. The clouds were dark now, and everywhere was darker than before. Prince Junfeng couldn't go any further, so he found a place to lay his head for the night before he continued tomorrow.

He lay on his back as he faced the sky. The rain was about to start. The rain wasn't as big a challenge as finding the princess. His ambition, target, dream, focus, and everything was to see princess Chu Hua, and apart from that, nothing more matters. The sounds of sleepless birds were in the background. Some sounds can be heard from afar, while some were close by in the trees.

Prince Junfeng wasn't worried about his father's death because it only meant that he was going to take over as the king of the gapsin kingdom. There are many beautiful princesses and commoners out there that are ready to marry him, but his eyes were only on princess Chu Hua. The fear of commander Lucifer coming to attack him after he had captured the princess wasn't his problem. In his mind, he can defeat commander Lucifer if only he successfully takes princess Chu Hua away.

The arrow in king Cheng's belly was gently removed by Chao. King Cheng cried out in pain. He could see death approaching him with speed like an earthquake that can't be stopped by anyone.

Some herbs were ground and added to water before being given to king Cheng to drink. Chao and the other men who were standing there with him, they did what they could to make sure that the king took the herbs. They raised his head a little so that he would be able to drink it. King Cheng sipped it and removed his mouth. Chao struggled to make sure that the king didn't give up on life. After going through a lot of making sure that king Cheng takes the medicine, he finally fell asleep as the pain reduced. A white garment was tied around him to protect his blood from coming out of the hole that the arrow left in his stomach. The king slept peacefully. After noticing this, all the Cyprus men went to sleep because it was really a stressful day. The kingdom went quiet as if there were no living soul in it.

It was raining and the rain was so heavy that anyone staying outside lost their happiness. Princess Chu Hua and Commander Lucifer, who were already fast asleep from different locations, were all standing under the tree. So, also to prince Junfeng. There were thunderstorms in the atmosphere. Princess Chu Hua was cooled to a point that she felt like fainting. It seems like that day was cursed because it has been almost a week since the last rain fell, but now that she was out of her comfort zone, everything began to showcase its ugly face. Thanks to her helmet, which was warming her head and protecting the rain from dropping on her head.

Commander Lucifer, on the other hand, stood straight under the tree as if he weren't concerned about the rain. The truth is, he doesn't have any option than allowing himself to get used to whatever was happening around him.

And prince junfeng was again embracing the trunk of the tree like his wife. He embraced it for a while and closed his eyes so tight. The rain started flowing down on the tree's body. When he felt that his arms were getting wet, he quickly took his hands from the tree.

"Oh heaven, why do you have to make things difficult for me?" Princess Chu Hua smirked. If she has the power to fast-forward the night, she could have done it. She never knew that she would one day find herself outside her kingdom, not to talk of staying in the bush, and at worst, it was night.

"When will this come to an end?"

Princess Chu Hua asked herself.
