Chapter 23 - 23 WHERE AM I?

Princess Chu Hua woke up from her slumber, she blinked her eyes and then rolled her eyeball. She was shocked to see what was surrounding her.

She was caged in a cell.

"Wasn't she supposed to find herself struggling with the water? How did she get in here?" Princess Chu Hua wondered. She was caged in her fear and anxiety.

"Where on earth am I? This place doesn't seem like where a mortal man can live."

Princess Chu Hua was unstable as she paced up and down in the cell. The place was too quiet. The only sound she could hear was her heartbeat. Her heart was beating so fast in her chest.

She located a corner in the cell and placed her buttocks. A sense of reasoning hit her mind.

"Where's my sword and helmet?" She got more confused. Could it be that she has been captured by the Gapsin men?

But that can't be possible because if she isn't mistaken, she remembers when she fell into the ocean. There was no ship or anything in the ocean when she got there. And if there is any, the person who rescued her from the dreaded ocean wouldn't be that wicked to cage her after that. Moreover, she wasn't handcuffed. It seems so strange to her.

She felt the urge to scream out for help, but will it help? What if she screams out and ends up in more trouble?

Princess Chu Hua decided to relax for a while, to see what will happen next. She patiently sat in the corner of the cell as she gathered herself in one place. She was neither cold nor hot. The place was a bit warm, but that wasn't her problem. She could feel that there was danger in that place.

After waiting for an hour, which seems like years, she finally heard footsteps approaching. She widened her eyes in fear.

"Who was coming?" The person was approaching slowly like a thief. But despite the slow walking, the person's steps can still be heard by princess Chu Hua. She listens attentively to the sound.

At that moment, she felt like the earth should open and swallow her up.

The person finally approached the cell's door that was made with irons.

Princess Chu Hua could only see a human shape, but she can't describe if it was a male or female. The place was a bit dark. But it seems to her like the person was in his or her armor tunic with a spear in his or her hand.

"It seems to be a servant."

"Am I in a palace?" Princess Chu Hua whispered to herself.

She was able to see the person's eyes, but not his or her complete face because of the helmet the person was putting on.

"Aren't you meant to be a man? Why did you come in the form of a woman?" The person asked.

Princess Chu Hua could clearly identify that it was a woman. The question here is, "why is she asking her such a question? Were they the ones that created her?" Princess Chu Hua thought to herself.

"I don't understand." Princess Chu Hua responded with fear. If only the lady standing in front of her knew how much courage she summoned to reply to her, she would pity her.

"What do you mean, you don't understand? Is it the English or the question?" The guard asked as she furrowed her brows.

Princess Chu Hua gasped and responded, "everything."

"Oh, I see." The guard responded and shook her head.

She lowered her gaze and carefully studied princess Chu Hua. On the other hand, princess Chu Hua was freezing inside of her.

The guard motioned to leave and princess Chu Hua called out, "wait!"

The guard stopped abruptly and asked her, "what?"

"Please, where am I?" Princess Chu Hua asked as she stood up from the ground.

The guard took a step back. She glared intensively into Princess Chu Hua's eyes. The princess stared back at her, but when princess Chu Hua couldn't get hold of the deep blue eyes that were staring at her, she got off them.

"I'm sorry." Princess Chu Hua apologized.

"Apology… not accepted." The guard responded with anger.

"But…"

Shhh. Princess Chu Hua was about to say something, but the guard warned her to keep her mouth shut as she placed a finger on her lips.

"No more questions." The guard seriously warned her.

Princess Chu Hua nodded her head, looking pitiful like a small child. The guard took a step as she was about to leave, but something passed through her mind, and she brought the step back to its usual position.

"Very soon, you will know where you are. The queen will summon you later." The guard softly said with a chuckle.

When princess Chu Hua saw the angelic face she used while talking to her, she saw it as an opportunity to ask one more question.

"Who is the queen, if I may ask?" Princess Chu Hua asked, but the guard didn't respond.

Princess Chu Hua took a few steps to the iron door and grabbed it with her two hands. She placed her face on the door's rusty iron as she waited for the guard to reply.

After a few minutes of waiting, the guard did as if she were leaving. Before princess Chu Hua could know, the guard turned with force and angrily hit the iron door. Luckily for princess Chu Hua, she immediately took off her hands before the spear could land on the door.

The sound that came out from the iron made the place vibrate. Princess Chu Hua's breath almost ceased as she jumped back to the wall.

"I said, '' No more questions! Are you deaf? I wonder why humans are always stubborn. This is one of the reasons why I hate the world out there!" The guard yelled and left.

After a few minutes of relief, princess Chu Hua began to imagine the last statement made by the guard.

"This is one of the reasons why I hate the world out there!" That statement confused her. The more she tried to relate to the statement, the more she got confused.

"Where am I?" She asked herself the question she asked the guard earlier.

"Am I dead or what? Am I in another world?" More questions keep popping up in her head.

What made her more confused was the fact that the guard was a normal human being, and she was hating the world out there.

"Aren't they in the world she knows?"

Princess Chu Hua sat back in her usual position as she waited to be summoned by the so-called queen the guard was talking about.

She sat quietly and fixed her gaze on the door as she expected the messenger. However, when she was tired of waiting, she began to think about commander Lucifer and her father. They will be wondering where she is. As for prince Junfeng, to hell with his love!

This is the time she needs commander Lucifer's protection the most.

"You promised to protect me all the time, where are you, please? I require your help. Come and rescue me from the hands of the enemies." Princess Chu Hua whispered in agony.

Longing to see someone, she slept off as she supported her back with the wall behind her.

She deserved that sleep. It hasn't been easy for her, going through this hell, for unknown days without taking any baths or changing her outfits. Most importantly, food.

"Queen mother, he isn't a man. The mortal is a woman in a warrior tunic." The guard said to the queen, who was elegantly sitting on her throne.

"Bring her over." The queen responded.
