Chapter 24 - 24 THE LONG AWAITED WARRIOR

The clinging of the door's rusty chains woke princess Chu Hua. She quickly opened her eyes and stood up in fear.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the person unlocking the door.

It was the same guard that came earlier.

The iron finally fell to the ground as the guard opened the door for her. She was scared to step out. The guard glared at her that princess Chu Hua's soul left her body.

When the guard knew that she was afraid to step out, she signaled princess Chu Hua to come out. She made a way for her to come out.

Each step she took was out of fear. She could feel her heart pounding inside.

It wasn't a hidden secret that her body was shivering. Every part of her body was unstable. Princess Chu Hua was staring at the guard at first, but when she got closer to the door, she lowered her gaze to the ground.

On reaching the door, the guard grabbed her hand and forcefully pulled her out. The guard gripped her wrist as she took her to the queen. Fear was just a mere word. Princess Chu Hua was in a great tremble as she saw what was above and before her.

"She was under the ocean."

Everywhere was shining and glittering like the bright sun. Diamond, gold, and silver were everywhere in every angle of the kingdom.

Princess Chu Hua stared at the water above them. It was like a transparent glass was used to stop the water from reaching them.

"Welcome to the kingdom of mermaids." A voice finally called for her attention.

Princess Chu Hua slowly brought down her gaze to where the queen goddess was sitting. She looked around, and she saw many pretty women surrounding her. They were all in their armor tunic.

Everyone was holding a spear which has different shapes in looks by the edge. They were too beautiful to be warriors.

"Didn't I hear well? Mermaids? Aren't mermaids meant to have tails? Why don't they, and they still call themselves mermaids?" All these questions were passing through her mind. Even though she hasn't seen a mermaid before, she has seen their pictures in books. They were always classified as aquatic beings. Although some people don't believe that they exist, here she is, staring at them in the eyes.

She was more confused as they were all gazing in surprise. Anyway, that's because she was a human, but their looks sent her a signal that there was more to explain about their looks.

After staring at the gorgeous women around her, she looked back at the queen goddess sitting on a throne before her.

The queen's name was Andarta, the warrior goddess of victory. Who has been ruling the Mermaid kingdom for many years?

Her eyes were deep blue with warm, red-brown undertones and a pearly sheen. Her beauty and body shape was beyond description.

She was holding a long spear that had three long teeth at the head. The edges were sharp like a sharpened knife. Her golden crown was dazzling with the help of the sunlight that was penetrating the water.

"W… why am I here?" Princess Chu Hua stammered as she managed to ask.

"I should be the one asking you that question. Why are you?" The queen goddess of the mermaids asked with a soft voice.

"H… How am I supposed to know? I woke up and found myself in your kingdom. You should be in the best position to answer that." Princess Chu Hua answered with a stutter.

"Well, we were all expecting a male being and not a female." Queen Andarta responded with a smirk. It makes Princess Chu Hua look more confused. She suddenly sighted the sword that had been inserted into a shining stone hole.

The sword was dazzling to a point that the light shines on the sword haft.

As she sighted it, something came up in her mind. She could tell that the sword was the cause of all this mischievous scene.

"Lucifer," Princess Chu Hua whispered.

"Are you saying anything?" Queen Andarta asked and princess Chu Hua shook her head.

"How did you get this sword?" Queen Andarta asked with a frowned face.

"T… the sword was given to me by someone." Princess Chu Hua stammered.

"How?" Queen Andarta asked again.

"We had a battle in our kingdom, and he gave it to me. And he was the commander of our kingdom." Princess Chu Hua could speak with boldness now.

"Good. So, where is he?" Queen Andarta asked.

"If I would be able to know his whereby, I wouldn't have been here." She responded.

"How will you get to him without being directed?" The queen asked with excitement.

"My heartbeat will lead me." Princess Chu Hua answered.

"How?"

"Because I love him, and he loves me too. Our love knows no bounds. So, nothing can be a barrier for me locating him." Princess Chu Hua was beginning to make the whole thing a joke.

She wasn't trying to be stubborn, but her mind was telling her that queen Andarta loves commander Lucifer.

"The queen was rather trying to use her to get to Lucifer, nor was she looking for a way to harm him." That was Princess Chu Hua's thought.

When queen Andarta noticed that princess Chu Hua was playing with her senses, she raised her spear a bit from the ground. She then hit it hard on the ground.

From nowhere, princess Chu Hua heard something kick her so hard to the ground. She groaned in pain as she held her stomach.

It was like when she fell to the ground, something was tying her up. She could feel a chain wrapped around her. The more she struggles to stand up, the harder the iron ties.

"Are you ready to cooperate?" Queen Andarta asked. All the mermaids were staring at her as she struggled on the floor.

"Yes! Yes…" she sharply answered.

"Where is he?" The queen asked.

"Please, free me and I will explain."

"Will you?" The queen asked.

"Yes." Princess Chu Hua answered as she let out a moan.

Queen Andarta repeated the same thing she did the previous time. Princess Chu Hua was stranded. She gathered the remaining strength in her and stood up from the floor.

As she stands, she almost falls back to the ground. Two mermaids supported her by holding her arms.

Princess Chu Hua explained how she was given the sword by Lucifer and his reasons for giving her.

"Do you know what this sword is meant for?" Queen Andarta asked with a scolded smile.

"No, I don't."

"This sword was meant for a man who was coming to save this kingdom from destruction. A battle that we have been waiting for many years ago." Queen Andarta explained.

"Then let go of me. I'm not the chosen one, so I don't own the right to be here. Please, take me back to my people." Princess Chu Hua pleaded with the queen.

Queen Andarta burst into laughter instead of taking pity on her.

"What's funny?" Princess Chu Hua asked with a smirk as she freed herself from the two women.

"Nothing is funny. You are the chosen one. Henceforth, you are the commander of this great army."

"Wait, what?" Princess Chu Hua asked in shock.

"All hail the long-awaited commander of the mermaids' kingdom."

As soon as queen Andarta said so, there was a shout of jubilation from everywhere. Looking up, princess Chu Hua saw the mermaids swimming with their tails splashing water and jumping.

"I was right. They have tails. Then how do they have legs like humans?" Princess Chu Hua wondered as she widely opened her mouth, in surprise.
