Chapter 28 - 28 MERMAIDS CAN READ MINDS

Princess Chu Hua's hair was trimmed to a perfect length. Her hair was short, and it was parked to the back, making the princess look more gorgeous.

She was also given a new outfit to wear as her armor dress, which has a head warmer. It was dark brown.

One side of the dress was a long sleeve, designed with bronze in the form of animals. The other hand was a short sleeve, also with light bronze.

The shirt was above her navel, and the trouser pants had ropes that were used also as a design, but it helps in losing and tying the trousers to a perfect length.

The mermaids were wonderful beings, but she hardly got along with them, as she was a natural human being without any features of aquatic life.

They feed on sea fishes and vegetables, but princess Chu Hua doesn't like any of this. Instead, her daily food was fruits. Life seemed simple and lovely in the sea, but they weren't humans like her.

Princess Chu Hua watched how the mermaids went out of the silver door and swam on the water above them. It was unbelievable that the mermaid's legs turn to tails immediately when they touch the water. Once they leave the water, the frogs' tails don't split into legs, legs grow out from the base of the tail and the tail shrinks back into the body. Incredible!

Princess Chu Hua has been studying them since the very day she came into the kingdom. Everything about them was attractive to her. Their dress was leather armor. A bit of netting, embellished with shells.

All the mermaids were having reddish-colored hair, except for Andarta, the queen goddess. Her hair was blue gold. The design in every corner of the kingdom was stunning as they were full of pearl decorations. Making the place glossy.

Princess Chu Hua was sitting on a coated shining stone as she stared everywhere in amazement. Everything in the mermaid kingdom seemed perfect, and the place was quiet and calm. No disturbance.

Something was telling her to stand up and look around the kingdom, but her mind wasn't allowing her. She still feels insecure somehow. She suddenly came back to her right senses as someone tapped her from behind.

Princess Chu Hua jumped out of fear as she quickly turned around to see the person who touched her. To her amazement, it was queen Andarta, the mother goddess.

"Accept my apology for scaring you a bit," Queen Andarta said with a curved smile on her lips. Princess Chu Hua managed to smile back and responded, "I'm okay, don't bother yourself,"

"Weren't you afraid when I touched you?" Queen Andarta questioned as if she needed the answer for a serious thing.

Why is she asking this question? Princess Chu Hua thought within herself.

"Because I want to know," Queen Andarta said.

Huh? How did she manage to know that that's what I was thinking about? Princess Chu Hua asked within her again.

"Because I can read your mind," Queen Andarta said with a chuckle. Princess Chu Hua's eyes widened. She can't hide anything from queen Andarta then, since she reads her mind and listens to what she was thinking.

" Of course, you can't hide a secret from me. And what made you think I noticed that you lied to me about Lucifer? He is also your lover and I know about it,"

" But…" before princess Chu Hua could complete her statement, queen Andarta cut her off and said, "time is not on our side. You need to start training," her voice echoed with a command.

" You and I know that I can't fight a beast I have never seen in my entire life. Why me?" Princess Chu Huey spoke with teary eyes as she fearlessly stared at queen Andarta.

" You shouldn't be asking me why? We have been waiting patiently for ages to see who the sword has chosen to rescue this kingdom. And here you came with the sword. So, why the questions?"

Queen Andarta spoke with a scolded voice.

I cursed the day I received this sword from Lucifer. Here am I in a strange kingdom while he's there enjoying his life! Princess Chu Hua cursed and raised her gaze to look at queen Andarta.

" I plead with you to return me to my father. He's dying and no one is there to look after him," princess Chu Hua was on her knees begging.

" Your father isn't the only person living on the earth. Someone is looking after your father, you don't have to let that rub you off your peace."

" But I wasn't born for this, rather than Lucifer," princess Chu Hua tried to find a possible way for queen Andarta to set her free.

" Well, I guess the sword has picked you over Lucifer," Queen Andarta knew what princess Chu Hua was up to, but the princess had forgotten that the queen did read minds. Every other mermaid also can read human minds.

Princess Chu Hua ran out of ideas as she stood speechless before Queen Andarta.

"Are you ready for the training?" Queen Andarta's voice interrupted her thought. Princess Chu Hua shook her head and then nodded.

"Good. Now, this way," Queen Andarta pointed in a direction. Princess Chu Hua swiftly turned and stared at the door queen Andarta was pointing at.

Princess Chu Hua took a few seconds to examine the door. The door was made of gold and there was a design in the form of a spear on the door.

She found herself moving closer to the door without being told to move. On getting to the door, she tried to open it, but there was no sign of a place to open it.

Princess Chu Hua turned to ask Queen Andarta how she could open it. Surprisingly, queen Andarta was nowhere to be found. She scanned the room as she searched for the queen.

A sound came behind her as it called for her attention. Princess Chu Hua quickly turned, and she saw the door opening by itself. Out of fear, she stepped back. Unluckily for her, no one was around. Every other mermaid has gone out hunting for food.

The door completely opened. Judging from the door sight, it was clear that the room was dark without any light. It suddenly lights up, making the place look bright.

Princess Chu Hua could feel her heart pounding inside her chest. The light comes up without seeing the person that lights it up.

She stared at the door for a few minutes before she fearlessly motioned to it. As soon as she stepped into the door, she saw a staircase that led underneath. The door suddenly slammed, making princess Chu Hua jump in fear.

She walked down the stairs, taking every step with fear. The path led her to a hall filled with different kinds of weapons. Everywhere was bright as the candlelights were burning.

"Welcome!" A deep voice vibrated the enormous hall.
