Chapter 7 - Shadow Bat Dungeon (3)

•Limitless Online, Evergreen Continent, Greenwood Forest•

•11:41 PM•

"I hate dungeons!" Dawn yelled running away from a swarm of Shadow Bats. He ran through the the cavern trying his best to lose the bats. Unfortunately, they were catching up to him. He lost count of how many times he had to run through the darkness with the only source of light being the bits of fire on the stone floor.

Dawn had tried to enter the restroom to the next floor but he needed to kill all the monster here first. He tried to go but he didn't have think to memorize the way he came from. Moral of this story, he was in big trouble at the moment.

Dawn ran over to the stone doors that were meant to lead him to the restroom for this floor, he took a sharp turn and ducked behind one of the stone collums. Dawn swiftly turned around.

[Dragon's Breath]

He shot a stream of flames out and let all of the bats ablaze.

•[HP: 25/42] · [MP: 0/60]•

Dawn's attack stopped upon his MP being completely depleted. He peeked his head out and sighed seeing all of the bats were dead. His attack was mostly meant to thin them out but this was definitely better. Dawn wasn't going to complain about a plan going way better than it should have.

[Ding! You have completed the second of three floors in the [Shadow Bat Dungeon. Please proceed to the rest area to claim your reward.]

Dawn cheer seeing the new message floating in front of him. Now he had some time to rest for a bit and recover his mana. Unfortunately, leveling up was so slow for him. Maybe he should do what his class said and go kill some players.

Dawn considered it and nodded to himself. What's the worst that could happen. Plus they'll respawn so it'll work out fine. The worst that could happen is they get vengeful and come back after him bigger and better than before.

Ya know, nothing much.

[Collect]

[...]

After Dawn collected everything, he walked towards the second resting area with hasty steps. After seeing the reward from the first one, he was edger to see what he'll get now. Even if the rewards aren't better, it would still be a good bonus. He might be a bit salty but he wouldn't complain too much about it.

Dawn entered the room and immediately skipped over to the chest in the corner.

[Reward Chest Opened. Player has gained: 40 Copper Coins, Shadow Ring (Grade: Red), HP Potion (Grade: Red), MP Potion (Grade: Red)]

[Shadow Ring (Red):

+7 MP

+7 HP

•Can blink anything for three seconds when used. Ten minute cool down. No MP needed. Can be counteract by using 10 Points of MP.]

"D-Did I just get a ring with no way of using it?" Dawn said looking at the information in front of him. The right seemed like something really good, and it was. However, he was a damn dragon.

"Stay calm, stay calm. Calm is the word of the day." Dawn mumbled letting the screen in front of him slowly fade away. Dawn sighed again, now that was two things he had to find a way to sell in the future.

Dawn walked over to the doors to the next floor silently hopping he has enough time to clear the dungeon. At least now Dawn knew that better loot was waiting for him, but he had to suffer for a bit before he could even imagine getting it.

Dawn pushed the doors open to the next floor wanting to get out of this place as soon as possible. Unlike the first two floors, this one actually had light source in the form of little white lights floating around. It was still a cavern though, the theme wouldn't change since this dungeon is specifically for Shadow Bats.

Dawn stepped into the cavern silently thank whoever designed this dungeon for finally putting in some lights. He didn't have to waist MP to lit up the area now, so that was a plus. Dawn looked around trying to find any monster, but he couldn't.

Just then, red eyes pared into him from the ceiling. Unlike the previous floors, it was only a few.

[Fear!]

Dawn adorably froze in place in tracts. The bat flew down and landed right in front of him. Isn't shadow started to morf and shot towards him with a second of it land. He tried to move dodge the skill in had used on him had completely paralyzed him.

Just before the bat's attack hit, he was able to move again. Dawn side stepped mostly dodging it. The black mist flew last him scratching his leg.

'What was that?' Dawn thought making some distance between the down. The bat in front of his way a lot bigger than the others, only a bit smaller than he was. 'A skill that can paralyze me? That's definitely it, but is there a way to counter it? If not then I'll be in trouble here.'

Dawn thought for a bit then he thought back to the right he had gotten. It blinked someone for three seconds but MP can be used to stop it. Maybe it's the same concept for the [Fear] skill.

More black mist forms and shoots in your direction, five different streams to be exact. Dawn creates a medium sized fire ball and sends it towards the bat. The black mist changed its course and goes straight through the fire ball making it explode and dispose the stream.

Four others where still coming at him through. Dawn kicked off the ground and dashed forward. He was able to evade all of the black mist but was still damaged a bit.

Dawn arrived in front of the bat that spread it's wings, trying to get away from the black dragon in front of it.

[Dragon's Breath]

Dawn shot out a wife stream of flames that killed the bat the moment it was taken by the flames. The Shadow Bats, at least the ones in this dungeon have very low defense but high motility. Dawn on the other hand, had motility, defense and strength.

[Player has gain 12 EXP!]

•[Level: 3] · [EXP: (481/500)]•

•[HP: 35/42] · [MP: 51/60]•

Dawn glanced to his side and saw more black mist was fired at him. The dragon groaned in annoyance. He took a few steps back letting them all fly pass him.

Dawn turned to the side and created a small flame. It flew towards the bat and pieces through it's head. The fire ball was weak but perfect for creatures like the Shadow Bats. With their low defense, Dawn's attacks were able to kill them easily.

If it wasn't for their numbers, this dungeon would of been a work in a forest or a sunny day.

[Player has gain 11 EXP!]

•Minutes Later•

[Ding! You have completed all the floors of the [Shadow Bat Dungeon] The dungeon will be destroyed in ten minutes]

[Reward Chest Opened. Player has gained: 1 Silver Coins, Spell Scroll (Attribute: Darkness), HP Potion (Grade: Red), MP Potion (Grade: Red)]

[Spell Scroll (Attribute: Darkness): When used the play will gain a random spell from the [Darkness Attribute]. Can only be used by a player with darkness attribute.]

Dawn beamed looking at the message. Finally! Now he can leave. The only thing weird was that were wasn't a finally boss or anything. He was fully expect when he killed the last one for some giant bat to pop out of nowhere, so he was being extra safe.

However that didn't seem like the case here. Dawn wasn't complaining though. He only has a fee minutes before he's thrown out of the same.

Dawn sighed and ran at full speed out of the cave. The game was fun, will be come back? Definitely. But for now, he just want to go get some ice cream and sleep. Dawn ran out of the dungeon and up the little incline until he could see the water.

Dawn ran to one side on the cave and left the game. Probably not the best place to leave a game, but he didn't care.

•With Raven, In The Real World•

Raven opened his eyes and immediately felt tired. Although his body hadn't move for the last six hours, his mind was a different story. He didn't feel tired physically but he was mentally drained. Raven took of the headset and set it on his bed side table.

The boy boy sat up but laid back down. Now he knows why he should of stretched before hand. He probably still won't but at least he knows what to expect when coming out of the game. Maybe he'll get used to it at some point in the future.

Raven rolled out of bed and did light stretching. He almost lost his balance a few times as well.

"Now, time for some ice cream."
