Raven and Adam were standing in front of a massive manor. They stood next to each other, waiting for someone to open the door for them. Despite Adam's quick driving, it had taken them quite some time to arrive here.
He didn't drive recklessly, but he did exceed the speed limit a few times on their journey. Raven sat in the passenger seat, listening to music and silently praying that no cops pulled over.
Raven didn't want to deal with any of that, it would just be too much of a hassle. Even though almost everyone knew who they were, it would draw some unwanted attention. Adam's butler hadn't even told him to slow down, and he definitely wasn't going to listen to Raven. If anything Adam might go faster.
Raven pondered whether he should make new and more mentally stable friends the entire ride.
"Do you think Miko's mother will try to get the both of you two together? For like ten millionth time?" Raven groaned as Adam asked him teasingly.
"Please don't remind me." Raven stated. He considered leaving now, but the doors opened, and Raven's escape plan was bashed.
A woman with long red hair and dark brown caramel colored eyes stood in front of them. She was five feet five, inches shorter than Raven. The woman was dressed in a black gown with far too much jewelry.
"Raven, Adam, it's so great to see you!" The woman exclaimed as she drew them both into a hug.
"It's great to see you again, Ms. Jones." Raven said this while putting on his best smile. "My father sends his best wishes." That was a lie, but he was trying to be polite.
"And mine as well-" Adam wanted to say something but was cut off.
"How many times have I told you to call me Maya, Raven? I've known you since you were four years old." Maya said. The woman had forgotten Adam was present, but the boy was unconcerned. He was relieved he didn't have to deal with the woman in front of them.
"Is Miko here, Ma'am? Or has she left the house?" Raven despised having to put on this phony smile.
Maya smiled a little when she saw Raven and Adam when she heard that they were here to see her daughter, well mostly at Raven. Maya had been trying to bring Raven and her daughter together since they were ten years old. Raven was the ideal match for her in the woman's eyes.
He was young, intelligent, and respectful, at least to those who deserved it, and he had a promising future ahead of him. The fact that he would inherit his father's business when he was eighteen was the icing of the cake.
Raven and Miko didn't have that kind of relationship and didn't want one. They were close friends, almost siblings, but they could never be in a relationship. It would just feel wrong for them both.
"Miko is in her room upstairs. Why don't you go on ahead and meet her, I'm sure you haven't eaten yet, Raven, so breakfast will be ready soon." Maya stated.
She was a strange lady, but she was well aware of Raven's habits, and he had a habit of either not eating breakfast or eating sweets for breakfast. He ate something normal in the morning only a few times. He didn't skip any other meals though.
Raven and Adam entered the manor and needed to pass through the living room to get to the stairs. The two boys noticed a man on the coach reading a book. He was a slim but tall six-foot-two man. His hair was short and brown, and his eyes were skyblue, he also had on a pair of black reading glasses.
"Good day, Mr. Jones." Raven indicated with a small wave.
"Raven, Adam. I didn't expect to see you until much later." The man gave a small smile. Alexander was a gentle man who, unlike his wife, did not impose relationships on his children. He had also known Theodore for a long time. They went to the same college and have remained friends over the years.
"We made the decision to arrive early." Raven stated. "Father says hello."
"How is that old man is doing these days." Alexander laughed a little. "He has not yet found a new wife, huh. I can't believe I've been married longer than he has. Damn. I'm still upset I lost that bet."
"Dear, what was that?" Maya stated as she walked alongside her husband. Alexander froze, realizing he had made a mistake.
"N-nothing, my dearest wife, my life's love, my heart's owner..." Alexander began saying a variety of things in an attempt to persuade himself that he was not going to die.
Adam and Raven took advantage of the situation and left the married couple to deal with their own issues. Alexander had been married to Maya for over twenty years; they had their ups and downs, but they always came back stronger in the end.
The boys made their way through the halls, passing many maids. They felt pity for Alexander. Now he had to make sure his wife didn't murder him in his sleep. He's not surprised if she does. That woman could be frightening at times.
Raven stood in front of Miko's room, and unlike the last time he came here, he decided to nock, despite the girl telling him it wasn't his fault. He was still traumatized by the experience.
"Please come in!"
He sighed and pushed open the door. Adam almost tackled the short red hair to the ground as he ran past Raven.
"Miko! It's great to see you. I haven't seen you in several months!" Adam yelled, spinning the little girl around. Miko was five foot three inches tall girl with curly red hair and brown eyes.
She was dressed simply in sweatpants, a sports bra, and a jacket. Her cheeks were a bit chubby. She was a year older than Raven, but she didn't look it.
"Let me the hell down, you heathen!" Miko yelled, swinging her feet around, a blush of sheer embarrassment on her face. "And I saw fucking yesterday, you fucking twat!"
"Hello, Miko. How did your tests go?" Raven inquired as he closed the door so that ye girl's mother wouldn't hear all the profanities.
"Look at that." Miko looked at Raven and then at Adam. "That's how you say hello to a friend. You don't approach them and swing them around like a chipmunk!"
"Why did you go with a chipmunk?" Raven said sitting in her chair by her desk.
Miko sat on her bed with a small shrug. Adam sat next to her, and the group simply discussed their plans. Miko was going to Singapore with them and had already packed. Her plan was to accompany Vivian until they left.
"How was the game, Raven?" Adam inquired unexpectedly. He'd just remembered Raven had won the game the day before.
"Hm?!" Miko was taken aback. "Did you really get him to play it?"
"He did." He said spinning in her chair. "It's also very cool; I like the graphics."
"Right!" Adam yelled. "What race and class did you get? I am a knight and an elf."
"Dragon, and I'm a Dragonic Tyrant." Raven's statement made Adam and Miko look at him strangely and as if he was mildly insane. "What?"
"Wait, you can't have dragon as a race." Miko murmured. "Dragonic Tyrant? I've never heard of it before, and I did quite a lot of research after starting the game." Adam nodded in agreement.
Raven opened his mouth but said nothing. It did say something about it being a rare class or something along those lines. He knew his race and class distinguished him simply by the benefits he received as a result of them.
It is impossible to obtain a monster race in Limitless Online. Humanoids are the only races available to players. Elves, Dwarfs, and even Vampires, Sirens, and Demons are available. However, no werewolves much less a dragon.
Demi-humans are the closest races to beasts. Raven thought you could get any race, but he was mistaken. He was starting to realize how unique his race and class really was was.
