While Freida was unknowingly protecting Yajel in her embrace, a large wave that was approaching the shore swept her up and carried her into the shoreline. She has been motionless in the same position ever since they were submerged by the force of the tidal wave that hit them and swallowed them beneath the surface.
Freida remained unconscious until she suddenly felt the need to cough up a significant amount of water, which jolted her back into awareness. As the water left her lungs, she gasped for air and struggled to catch her breath. She had the terrifying experience of thinking that she and Yajel had both passed away as a result of what had happened, only to awaken to find that she was in perfect health and was able to continue breathing.
