Dr. Sam did not use the word lethal but Loraine understood from the look in his eyes that just a bit more and the bullet could have killed Mr. Alistair.
This further emphasized that his enemies aimed to kill him.
'And he calls this just a family squabble? Then, what would an all-out family war be like? They bomb each other?'
Her head might explode from all the possibilities.
"I see. That's great. But what about his leg injuries?" Loraine recalled that Mr. Alistair had dislocated and fractured bones.
"I already fixed his bones.
His right leg condition was more serious.
Fortunately, you brought him on time without any further tossing.
Otherwise, it would have been more difficult and would have required surgery.
However, I still need equipment to check his condition further.
Though I already checked, I still need to see if he has other internal injuries."
Dr. Sam came here in a hurry so he couldn't bring everything with him. After all, he was supposed to be on a vacation with his wife.
"Just write down what you need, and I'll have someone get it from your private hospital," Loraine offered.
They had a lot of people for errands like this.
"All right, I'll also add some more medicine."
Dr. Sam was already aware of the situation through Mrs. Sarah before he arrived, so he was prepared, but he still required the assistance of some equipment.
After he listed everything he needed, Loraine handed it to Mr. Mo.
"You've worked hard, Dr. Sam.
You can take a break now.
You'll be busy again later."
After all, Dr. Mo had also treated Mr. Alistair's injured guards.
Loraine was relieved to learn that Mr. Alistair had already been treated. At least one of the most pressing issues has been addressed.
'What did I do to end up involved in all this?
There is no escaping this situation is there?' Loraine sighed deeply.
She was right that as soon as she saw the injured Mr. Alistair in the forest, she knew couldn't get away from the situation.
'We could at least be rest assured now that he and his men are in a stable condition. We didn't fail in saving him.'
After seeing that they could finally have some rest, Loraine recalled that they still hadn't had their lunch.
With all the rush, she had forgotten that they were supposed to have a meal. Her stomach growled now that she recalled it.
She glanced at everyone. They must be starving too.
"Sarah, order a takeaway for us. Then have someone buy the ingredients for dinner," Loraine must ensure they were all fed well.
It would be bad if they needed to evacuate and everyone was weak due to hunger.
"I'm on it. I was just about to remind you about it," Sarah chuckled.
"Miss Loraine, what is our next course of action?" Mr. Mo inquired while they were waiting for the food.
"Hmm… Keep an eye on the pursuers' movements.
We need to wait for Mr. Alistair to wake up to ask his opinion.
There might be something he needed to do."
Loraine had no particular plan in mind yet since she was so hungry. Moreover, they could not simply plan things without asking Mr. Alistair.
While they were chatting and eating on the first floor, Mr. Alistair woke up.

Alistair did not even bother to open his eyes. Instead, he thought about the events that transpired today.
After staying in the mountains for six months, they decided to leave early due to the arrival of Miss Loraine.
They had to leave to prevent any problems with the other side or possibly exposing his location.
What he did not expect was an ambush along the way.
He knew that all those who followed him to Mt. Kang had no problems, otherwise he wouldn't have had six months of peace. And the ambush would be more comprehensive.
The problem must be the contacts in the company. He truly needed to do another cleansing.
His pursuers were determined to take his life. He was seated in the backseat of the car when the accident occurred, but he was still seriously injured.
He did not bring many of his people to Mt. Kang, making escape difficult.
That was why he immediately thought of the person staying on the right side area.
They have a large number of people, and he would surely escape his predicament with their assistance.
That was why he directed his men to flee to the mountains. It was a gamble. But he knew his bet was correct when he saw Miss Loraine.
"Sir, you are awake! I will call the doctor," his guard was relieved and alarmed at the same time.
"No need, just pour me some water," Alistair's throat was dry.
The guard immediately handed him a cup of water.
Alistair was determined to let the old man bleed a lot after seeing the state of his legs and arms.
Originally, Alistair still wanted to give the old man some leeway to survive because he was still his grandfather-in-name.
But after the events that transpired today, Alistair had changed his mind.
He was aware that if they continued to flee without receiving medical attention, his legs might become paralyzed.
Fortunately, they were able to meet Miss Loraine on time.
If they couldn't it was either they all died or he would have had to be in a wheelchair his whole life.
The arrival of Miss Loraine on Mt. Kang turned out to be a good thing.
"Sir, I sincerely apologize for my negligence," Mr. Gram, the head of Alistair's guard said.
"No need, it's not that we're careless. They were just better prepared than we are. What's the situation?" Alistair asked for a report instead.
"All the guards managed to escape with the assistance of Miss Loraine's people.
Concerning the company, I have already informed the others to continue the plan without panicking."
"Well done. You may now go and rest. You are also injured."
"Thank you, Sir," Mr. Gram said as he walked away.
Meanwhile, Alistair continued to plan in his mind.
The old man would undoubtedly cause problems for his company, so he must still prepare something.
