Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: The Antares Estate

After three years, the state keeper will be replaced by someone who has passed the security and qualification tests.

As for the old estate keepers, they would be working in other mansions or villas owned by the Antares family.

They use a rotation system that allows anyone who passes the tests to serve in the main mansion.

Aside from the estate keeper, other workers in the mansion only stayed for two years before getting reassigned to other properties.

Rand Antares did it to prevent corruption and abuse of power.

However, due to the rotation system of all the workers around her, Loraine Antares, the original owner, was not close to any of them.

Parting with people constantly must have been painful so Miss Antares did not get close with any of the people working for them since they would be transferred anyway.

Instead, she got used to the constant turnover of people around her and simply treated all of the workers the same way.

Still, she was regarded as a great boss because she was not abusive and treated her workforce very well.

'A very busy father, few friends, and no close workers,' Loraine sighed deeply.

The former Miss Antares must have been lonely.

Loraine quickly arranged her attire and headed downstairs to the dining room using the mansion's elevator.

She was a little bit nervous and likewise, excited to meet the people of this world.

What would be their difference to those from her former world?

Loraine was a little nervous because others might find out something was wrong or different with her.

It was unlikely though since the original Miss Antares wasn't close with them.

She was also a little bit excited since it dawned on her that she was truly in a different world and would be living a different life.

Loraine observed the interior of the mansion as the elevator went down.

The house was huge and wide. Yet, she and the workers were the only ones here.

It was somewhat of a waste of space to someone who was once so poor like her.

While walking to the dining room, she can see how wealthy the family was.

The wall and stair decorations, the building layout and design, the furnishing, even the mats and curtains, everything was elegant and expensive.

There were paintings and sculptures here and there and she knew everything on display was valuable.

She remembered the mansion having five floors with numerous rooms on each floor.

Her father occupied the entire fifth floor, while the whole fourth floor was hers.

The third floor was entirely comprised of guest rooms.

Meanwhile, the second floor was dedicated to necessities such as the kitchen and dining room.

Whereas, the first floor was dedicated to receiving guests and included a banquet hall.

The workers have their own accommodation in a separate building next to the mansion.

"Good morning, Miss Loraine!

Your breakfast is ready," the butler greeted her.

"Good morning, Mr. Hansen," Loraine greeted him back.

He was the first person she spoke with and the estate keeper didn't think there was anything wrong with her.

Loraine was surprised that the way the original owner treated others would be the same as her.

She couldn't help but think that maybe the original owner was also herself in a different world.

Maybe, this was a parallel world of the one she came from.

After all, Loraine and Miss Antares both treated others fairly, regardless of their backgrounds, but they won't get close to them.

This was also one of the reasons why neither of them had anyone they could call their best friend.

'Waah, I'm so hungry!'

Loraine's mouth watered when she got a whiff of the food. It smelled nice.

She began eating as soon as she saw the food placed in front of her.

Every dish that was given to her was top-notch.

From the meals she had while assisting Mr. Bale on his business trips, the quality of these foods was on par with Michelin restaurants.

Even though she had previously worked as a secretary for a high-ranking company and had eaten a lot of delicacies while following the boss, she was still just a secretary.

Her former identity was incomparable to her new one.

Being able to eat all these in the comfort of your own home was simply magnificent.

After savoring all the desserts, Loraine was finally satisfied.

'Oops, I didn't look like a starving person did I?'

Loraine looked around and was grateful that no one reacted to how she ate.

'Thank goodness…'

After resting for a while after such a satisfying meal, Loraine went out to take a walk.

All of the workers she encountered on her way out greeted her warmly.

As for her, she only needed to nod slightly to acknowledge their presence since the original Loraine didn't talk much with them.

'Wow, didn't I hit the jackpot in getting transmigrated here?

Just look at all this,' Loraine looked around.

Outside the mansion, she still couldn't see how wide the estate was.

She knew from Miss Antares' memories that the estate was vast, and what she could see was only a small fraction of it.

She could see various types of gardens and pathways leading to various relaxation areas.

Her father seemed to have taken care of everything his daughter would ever need so she wouldn't get bored here.

'My goodness. I need to roam around the entire estate and see everything.

Maybe, there's something fun I can do.'

Loraine was delighted when she saw the garden full of beautiful rare flowers. Her mood improved significantly as she gazed at them.

'And this is simply one of their properties. They have more mansions and villas.'

She was now filled with expectations for her future.

After walking around the flower garden for a while, Loraine got exhausted from how vast it was and went back inside her room.
