The candidates were very diverse in talents, personality, and demeanor.
Some were shy, nervous, confident, and scared.
But to be chosen as one of the hundred people, they must showcase all their strengths.
Thus, they all worked hard to show off their talents.
Meanwhile, the managers and agents were all busy assessing their aptitude.
As for Loraine, she could only judge: bad, good, better, or best.
She didn't know much about acting and singing, but she could still judge how pleasing their voices were and how true their actions were.
The portrayal of emotion, grace, and beauty were among the things she noted. Along with charisma to reach people and the ability to seem genuine even if they were acting or singing.
The audition lasted for six hours.
Loraine had written down the names of candidates who left a strong impression or impact.
Once the audition was over, the candidates were all told to wait for their notice in two days.
After all of the candidates had left, the managers and agents began to argue about whom they were going to accept. They all exerted effort to persuade others about whom they wanted on the list.
"Don't waste any more time. I still want to go back earlier," Loraine said while looking at the others.
Listening to her, the others didn't put it off any longer.
After an hour, they finally stopped and handed her the list they had compiled.
She went through all of the passing candidates' names.
Most of them were the same as her choice.
However, she added five more candidates to the list, which made it a total of sixty-seven (67) passing candidates.
"Well done, everyone!
Mrs. Fara, you can handle the rest."
Loraine immediately entrusted the following work to her managing director. She didn't want to be busy with work again.
Seven hours at work was her maximum for now.
Choosing from many candidates was harder than she thought since they had to sit for several hours straight.
Thankfully, it was finally over. And she was eager to go home to her comfy and luxurious room.
"Yes, Miss Loraine. I promise to do a good job," Mrs. Fara replied quickly, noticing Loraine was ready to leave.
'Yes. Do my job for me. Hehehe. I won't do all the work myself in this life,' she internally smirked slyly.
Loraine won't allow herself to be buried with work again. Thus, capable people like Miss Fara were vital for her life of comfort and luxury.
"I know, I can count on you. You are doing an excellent job as a managing director," Loraine praised.
"Thank you for the praise, Miss Lorraine.
I am just doing my job.
I will do my best to perform even better," Mrs. Fara was pleased to hear positive feedback from her boss. She felt that all her efforts had been rewarded.
Loraine smiled. These words were very familiar to her.
She used to say it a lot every time Mr. Bale praised her.
Now she knew why Mr. Bale praised her a lot. He must have wanted to keep her so he could have some free time to himself while she did all the work.
As an employee who died of overwork, Loraine knew it was difficult. She wouldn't overwork Miss Fara to death.
"Don't be so modest, Mrs. Fara.
I am delighted with your work.
You can expect a huge bonus this year," Loraine said and Miss Fara's face visibly brightened even more.
Those who heard it were visibly envious but Loraine pretended she did not notice them.
After discussing some business and listening to the company's overall direction, Loraine was set to go home.
But, not without a short excursion.
She asked the driver to drive around the whole city once, so she could enjoy the view.
The driver and bodyguards were perplexed when she gave the order to circle the city, but they still obeyed.
When she was finally satisfied since she was able to see a lot of the cityscape, she finally told them to head back to the estate.
"Welcome back, Miss Loraine!"
She nodded to Mr. Hansen, who had greeted her.
"Mr. Hansen, is there any message from my father?
Will he be back this month?" Lorraine inquired.
She needed to prepare so she wouldn't be shocked if her father suddenly arrived home.
"There is no message, Miss Loraine.
Mr. Ford also didn't contact me.
So, I think Mr. Rand won't be back this month," Mr. Hansen replied.
Mr. Ford was the assistant of Loraine's father. He was the one who took care of the schedule so he got in touch with Mr. Hansen if the master of the house was set to be home.
"I see…" Lorraine wanted to at least see her new father.
But her new father was always busy. He usually doesn't have time to return to the mansion. Sometimes, he won't even be back for the whole year.
"Should I contact Mr. Ford?" Mr. Hansen inquired. He must have noticed her disappointment.
"No. I just asked since I will be traveling around starting tomorrow," Loraine assured their butler.
"Where to Miss Loraine, so I can prepare what you'll need?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure yet. But I would like to tour around the country," Loraine said so Mr. Hansen would have an idea of what to prepare.
"Okay, Miss Loraine. I will immediately prepare things for your tour."
Mr. Hansen was so reliable. He didn't even need to ask for even more details.
"Thank you," Lorraine smiled and returned to her room.
'Huwah, my precious comfortable queen-sized bed!' she almost flopped on the bed immediately but recalled that she needed to clean up first.
She had such a luxurious bath so she would maximize it as well.
There was nothing better than a warm dip in the bathtub after hours of working.
Once she was done, she used the expensive skincare products in the room before going to bed.
As she lay in bed, she was already excited thinking about her tour the next day.
