You peeped from the crowd to have a better view of what's going on.
Well actually, you were dressed as a maid and that was the only way you could blend in after being whisked back in time to ancient Egypt after a bad failure.
"Jim, can you see the Pharaoh?" You asked your boyfriend who surprisingly followed alongside.
"Yes, he's talking and addressing his subordinates. Also t-" Jim was about to complete his words when some guards entered into the throne room, dragging in a man tied up on both legs.
With no sympathy, he was pushed to the ground close to the Pharaoh's feet.
"Your majesty," the leader of the guards greeted, falling on their knees.
Watching this act, you were getting bored and ready to yawn. But all these changed when the Pharaoh brought out a Sword, beheading the man.
If only you paid attention to the man's crime statement you may have known why he was killed.
"All hail the Pharaoh! Strong in heart, Mighty in Reign!" The whole crowd cried out with a loud voice and you could only watch and wait for the main reason why you were here in the first place.
To save this Pharaoh from an assassination.
With your eyes and your boyfriend's roaming through the palace, you watched for an unusual activity.
Just like magic, a man came in with a big box and a suspicious smile on his face.
"My Pharaoh accept this gift I present onto you!" He smiled again and the pharaoh did something you were never expecting.
"Open the box!" He commanded the man whose eyes went wide.
"My king, you were supposed to be the one who opens the gift not me"
"You dare disobey the pharaoh?" Jim asked, playing the role of a guard.
"No no no Never! I'll never disobey the pharaoh" With shaky hands, the man opened the box slowly.
"Can't you be any faster?" Jim ordered the man with a Stern face.
"Okay! You want a gift to open you stupid guard! Then take a gift" The man brought out a sword aiming towards Jim who expertly broke his act.
"Oh No! Jim, your act is destroyed and you aren't wearing your-" Again, just about finishing your words when the palace guard surrounded him.
"INTRUDER!" They all screamed out with a loud voice.
Murmurs suddenly erupted as the pharaoh looked at Jim with a death glare.
"Who are you and why do you linger here?"
"Um well, let me say to erm…. SAVE YOUR LIFE!"
"From what?"
"DEATH! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SHOULD EXPLAIN THIS?"
"No," you said, coming out. A bad idea, "Your Majesty forgive our words for your life is in danger."
"And how do you know that?" One of the high men asked.
"Well I know you all are planning about the exportation of grains to other lands, but the plan keeps on failing because of the lack of common sense in your head!" You screamed out loud enough to make the pharaoh .
"And you, who's a maid knows how to help us?" The pharaoh's brow frowned deeper.
"Well yes?"
"Good! Kill both of them for Intruders aren't allowed!" The pharaoh ordered making Jim hiss angrily.
"Are you all nuts?...." He screamed out as you quickly thought of a way to get out.
"Before you 'kill' us I have to say I know the Babylon secret of greatness!"
The entire palace went quiet.
"Speak!" The pharaoh ordered coming closer to you.
"They make weapons for war and use their own resources to grow stronger!" You nervously said, facing the most feared but loved Pharaoh in history.
"And how did you know this?"
"It's common knowledge really"
"Then if it's common knowledge, tell us how we get these resources?"
"Dude… Egypt is full of resources!"
"Dude?" The pharaoh raised a brow.
"I mean your majesty, Egypt is full of all the resources…. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha" you nervously rubbed your neck as he shook his head.
"Fine, you stay but the boy goes to the prison or should I say the workers!" Before you could protest, Jim was dragged away.
"Okay I never knew he would be taken away without a word…."
3 WEEKS LATER…
Working beside the Pharaoh wasn't too bad. All the people who came together to bring their thoughts together weren't bad again.
But the sudden change of the pharaoh attitude towards you became a worry.
His treatment was one to call- obsessive.
From the day you stood beside him, his beautiful green eyes couldn't leave yours, making you a bit uncomfortable.
Today, you had completed everything and was now talking to the pharaoh.
"Your majesty, the weapons and buildings are constructed, the war will be days from now and victory is a hundred percent on our side…. Are you listening to me?" You asked after noticing he was busy sipping wine from a golden cup.
"Yes"
"So please could I have my boyfriend back?"
"NO!"
"Wait what?! I've given everything you asked for. Told you strategic planning and incredible plans, gave Egypt an upper hand and showed the other lands we aren't one to spy on. Security level is higher than ever and famine is far from the people. What else do you want?"
"You!" He said dropping his cup, then walking over to you with an Expression you never read.
"Me?"
"Yes Y/N, you. I want you to be with me, by my side I want you to be my queen, Egypt's queen" his eyes went low and a cool breeze whistled past allowing the pharaoh beauty to reflect and now you understood why women fell heads over heels for him.
"Hold it right there your majesty! I never requested a crown just from my boyfriend!"
"You think I can't place the crown on your head?"
"Er-"
"I'm the pharaoh and a single word from my mouth comes to pass. If I want you as my queen I'll have you!"
"Please, your majesty!" You fell down with a plea in your eyes, begging a man Egypt considers as a god. "I can't be your queen!."
"Because of him?"
"Him?"
"Your boyfriend! If so, I'll execute him tomorrow, with a slow death. This is my word!" He angrily declared storming out of the room, leaving you in awe.
"Oh no! I need to save Jim…"
