What do angels and demons have in common?
Well, they both are not from Earth.
So how could an angel and a demon become one person, and how does that even work?
Vampires are usually known as demons? Are they not?
But is innocence and purity an angel? What exactly is an angel? What exactly is a demon?
One is of God and the other from Satan?
Everyone has so many questions, yet no answer-
but has anyone actually had the moment to talk to an angel or even a demon,
let alone both in one being?
Did anyone ever wonder what it was like… to not be from Earth?
Memories of sitting in the cold snow,
pondering all these questions and not having any answers came to her.
She knew she had fallen from heaven,
but she couldn't remember anything or why for that matter.
She remembers falling in snow, waking up with snowflakes falling on her cheeks,
but she didn't feel cold, she had forgotten what cold had felt like.
She remembered her neck feeling like it was on fire.
When she rubbed her hand across it, it was wet.
When she pulled her hand away, there was blood, covering her fingertips,
but she didn't panic; she sat up and stared at her bloody hand.
The blood, her own blood, was warm and yet it was freezing on her hand.
She looked around, and the only thing she saw
was the spot where she had been laying moments before covered with dark red.
It looked as though she was in a small park, she could see trees and
a few benches around her, but it was hard to see the surroundings in the darkness,
and the snow was blinding as it was flying around her.
The girl was used to not knowing where she was, being in the darkness.
She was young when she fell from heaven,
she didn't know anything about the human world, but she had survived,
and yet here she was- bleeding in the darkness.
She finally decided to get up, and her head started to whirl,
she was dizzy and lightheaded; so she sat on the bench nearby,
just a few feet away and realized, she wasn't wearing any clothing,
yet she wasn't even a tiny bit cold.
The blood on her neck began to drip down to her chest and froze right above the breast.
She needed to go somewhere, she needed clothes, and shelter, normal human things;
she decided to get up and walk around, everything was empty.
She couldn't see anything or anyone for that matter;
when just at that moment, a man with a dark hoodie stepped out of the darkness,
leaning on a giant oak tree by the park entrance that led to the open street.
"You lost little girl?" His voice was rough, scratchy, and tinged with liquor.
Her heartbeat was calm, all she could see was his veins
and his heart lighting up like lightening inside
his compact body to the rhythm of his own heartbeat.
Her mouth began to water, and her stomach began to churn as if she were starving.
"Actually, yes I am lost. I can't seem to remember
anything about what happened before now."
After she said that in a faint voice she began to walk forward again,
but he grabbed her by the wrist, jerking her towards him.
"How unfortunate for you; a pretty thing like you
can't walk through the dark with no clothes without drawing attention."
He pushed her onto the ground and got on top of her.
She did nothing to fight back; just stared at his throat;
the veins pumping through his skin as he was fumbling at his pants,
touching her naked body.
Then something overcame her and
with one fierce push of her arm she moved him off her,
straddled on top of him and set her hand on his chest.
She could feel him struggling underneath her small hand
as his heart pumped the blood inside, he began protesting,
not understanding how someone like her could be stronger.
Suddenly, she sank her teeth into his neck,
they pierced through his skin with ease and blood began rushing into her mouth.
It was breathtaking, and shocked through her whole body.
It was a taste she had never imagined before;
it was electrifying and lustful yet tinged with toxicity.
When she was satisfied, she stood up and stared at the blood-stained snow.
It was a beautiful sight to see, but how could she have no feelings,
she didn't know how to feel; she had just taken a mans life
by ripping her teeth into his throat and sucking all the blood out of his body.
She examined her own hand. What was she?
What kind of creature had God made her into?
What has she been cursed with?
Yet she couldn't bring herself to feel sorry for the dead being
that was lying on the ground before her.
Even if she wasn't what she was, he didn't know that,
he saw her as a vulnerable young girl walking alone in the dark, naked.
He was going to do whatever it took to take advantage of her
whether or not she was whatever she was supposed to be.
No, she did not feel sorry for him. His life was the satisfaction to her hunger.
She shrugged as she left the mans body and began walking once more.
She made the decision to figure out where she was going or
whatever direction she decided her "home" would be.
She found another bench to sit on to ponder where she was,
when out of nowhere yet another strange man,
this time in a sleek dark blue tuxedo walked over to her.
He sat beside her and set a white cotton dress with a thick book onto her lap.
He was cleaner than the last man was, his hair was pure white and nicely combed,
his pupils were a glossy white, he looked familiar in some way that she could not describe.
As soon as she blinked a bright light flashed beside her where he sat,
and then he was gone; a white feather left in his place.
When she reached for the feather it disintegrated into snow.
The woman pulled the dress over her naked body,
pushing her arms through the soft long sleeves and
smoothed her silky silver hair over her shoulder.
She could see the blood from her neck already getting onto the dress
and wondered why he hadn't given her something to clean her wound with,
but she was grateful; for the dress at least.
Staring down at the book labeled "Moroi";
as she shuffled through it, a smooth voice suddenly spoke behind her,
"Well that didn't take long for your hunger to fuel. Or for the angels to find you either."
Then a long soft leather coat was draped over her shoulders.
She turned her head to look at another stranger;
he was tall and clean with jet black hair and glistening red eyes.
Almost the complete opposite of the last man she had encountered.
When he blinked his eyes dimmed to a more darkened red.
His veins weren't glowing like the first mans, come to think of it,
the second one didn't have glowing veins either,
but she could still see this one's heart dimly shining,
and she could count every dense heartbeat.
She gave him a short smirk, "I don't understand… do you know what has happened to me?
Do you know who I am?"
He reached for her hand and as she took it
he put his arm over her shoulder and began walking with her slowly.
"My dear, fallen angels don't get a choice to choose what their life will be;
free-will is not an option." He paused to look at her with sinister eyes,
"And you, my lovely fallen angel, are one of the most important.
God has a special task for your descent to Earth."
He gave a wicked snicker, "Let's just say we do God's dirty work."
He then scoffed a bit, "We get to take the blame for all the mistakes.
Rather than giving Lucifer control of anything,
such as bad luck and mischief, that is now our doings to keep in check."
She stared back at him with shining eyes.
"But . . . but why did I drink that man's blood, and why did I kill him.
I don't even feel bad about it. Actually, I think I rather…enjoyed it."
"Azrael, each fallen angel is given a curse they must learn all about."
He gestured lightly to the book she held within her hands.
