Chapter 40 - The good Samaritan

'More , more , more fans' he thought to himself as more folks who were avoiding him came to grab a photo of him before leaving. No one wanted to be left behind when it comes to posting the; I was there and took this pic and also been the first to do so. Such was the social media lifestyle even in another world.

As the numbers reduced and most people began to get their priorities straight, in getting to the building first before worrying about a teen losing his mind before the test was over. Besides the goal of being the first to post such unusual occurrence was already taken as they could see quite a number of people ahead of them. Some walking and talking, others moving like zombies and others just sitting and waiting.

Normally one would get suspicious on the various actions but then who knew if that was the way those folks usually walked or perhaprs those sitting were waiting for friends. All that mattered was getting to the finish line which was that house and joining the feast which was likely a side reward for passing the test on time.

Everyone hates getting to a party late and realize that all the food and drinks have been finished. No greater disappointment lies on the heart of a man who goes to a party and ends up not eating against his will. Might be wrong though, but such actions and behaviour made most of the students to fall into the trap.

"Yes my cuties, come to me, more more" . A pale beautiful woman with a sweet smile talked softly while peering into a screen that showed the young teens approaching the house.

"Hey you, you have lost it ?"

A soft but firm voice asked as the owner of the voice tapped on Hunter shoulder lightly. When he didn't budge, she proceeded to grab his arm lightly.

'Soft'.

That was the word that cleared up his head and made him snap out of his high cloud of bordering insanity, the touch of a female.

Instinctively, he thrust his dagger which was once laying by his side towards her face. Casually she waved her head to the left and dodged it with less effort. Quickly she distanced herself with a short burst backward while still in a crouching position as the second dagger missed her heels by a shave.

"You are good" Hunter said to her as he tried to seat up and face her.

"Not to bad yourself" she replied with a slight smile, now warily of him. She came to help him after watching most people upon getting to him just taking a picture of short video of him laughing like a mad man before leaving.

She had no idea while she came to help him, perharps she was bored since she couldn't find a way to counter whatever was getting people under an influence. Working with folks she had never met before was a no. Besides the fact that she had no deals to cut or contracts to be made when it won't favour her interest. It was better she stayed here and wait for the timer to run out. It said five minutes a while ago, before disappearing.

Naturally everyone was shocked as nobody expected such out of the blues plot twist to come in place. Just like in an exam, let's take maths or chemistry for example. They are always two hours plus and after writing for quite a while because during exams, the rate of moving time is faster than the rate of experiencing time. I do not know what that means but I feel other people might get what I'm saying. So you are writing the exam and of a sudden, the invigilator informs the students that they have less than an hour to go.

Less than an hour sounds like more time than they have less than thirty minutes to go. Why ? because when one hears the former, the mind runs the maths probability with sixty, and the latter with thirty. Thirty because the information says thirty. Does it work for everyone, I do not know. But what I do know was that folks began to rush towards the building like they were told that zombies were at their tails.

Speaking about the the walking zombies at the front, some even overtook them before they got hit by it and others upon realising their mistakes but knew it was late. Though I think its better you fail than to be caught in someone's trap. It just screams incompetence. Here I'm with less than three minutes to go and almost getting my heel sliced by our local madman.

"Local madman?" Hunter said and began to laugh before pausing, clutching his head in pain.

"You heard my thoughts" she stared at him with shock. Before quickly recover herself. He's a Mentalist. Shit, I wonder if he's a high-level one.

Quickly she placed her right hand on her scabbard as she stared at him warily and with caution.

With a hand outstretched, Hunter stared at her and smiled at the sight before him. A silver colored haired girl, a cute full face with dazzling and alluring features. A bewitching eye that trapped and held the gaze of any who would dare to maintain contact. Slightly full lips that screamed soft and tasty. Her hair, almost down to her slim waist and slightly wide hips, attached to long slender legs that any man would love to have wrapped behind his back. Legs that could also strangle and snuff out your breathe like the moth and the candle flame.

Cladded in a short navy blue skirt and long black thigh highs that almost covered up to the skirt, just allowing a sneak peek of her light skinned thighs. With a waist length cloak covering her shoulder down past her midriff and a little above the skirt. It covered her properly, but you could just notice the bulging twins trying to greet anyone staring at her. A golden emblem on the top of her shoulder glittering under the intense rays of the sun.

'Hmm a noble'.

"Oh you are beautiful!" He said out loud.

With a wide grin he continued,

"Will you be mine ?".
