Chapter 43 - Swimming in Thoughts

'Yeah, she's pretty and all. But that's one in the books, I need two more. Mhm, Light magic ? she might be a healer. The two types of healers , the light based healers and the plant based healers. I wonder which is more effective'.

'By the way, I wonder where Hayden is'.

Click.

Immediately his chair came to a halt. Slowly he laid back on the chair, with his head on the head rest he closed his eyes.

[Hayden where are you?]

Somewhere around the premises of the administration building was Hayden smiling and talking with some random folks. They were all laughing as he cracked some jokes while demonstrating with his hands. One could see the look of interest swirling in the eyes of some of his admirers(female).

"Now I was like bro, what do you mean by you got no cheese, I say cheese for me"

Immediately they all responded, "cheese!" before erupting into laughter. He wasn't left out as he held his stomach while laughing. He was a natural born comedian who laughed at his own jokes.

[Hayden where are you ?]

"Huh" he was startled for a moment and gazed at his audience with a smile.

[Hayden. If you can hear me, meet me at the fig Tree due West from the administration building. Taking the building front doorsteps as your North].

With a reassuring smile, he immediately called out to his new friends.

"Hey guys, I have got to be on my way. It was nice and fun while it lasted".

"Alright man, ring us up later".

"Don't forget my name Hayden it's Cindy!"

"I want a funny guy to be my boyfriend Hayden ?"

"Catch you up later bro"

"Fuck that guy, he ain't even funny".

They all called out to him as he waved back one more time before turning and headed due West.

If you aint got haters, you ain't doing it rightly he said to himself.

"Damn, I'm exhausted".

With his eyes fully opened, he was glad that this time around no one paid him any attention. He was sweating buckets, and the hot sun wasn't making things any better.

Quickly he turned around and began to head towards the fig tree. Moving toward there wasn't a problem, far as he could ignore the whispers and hushed tones, plus the disdain looks from those around. Heck it was like he was an outcast in the midst of the chosen ones.

He knew why, it was more like how the society in his previous life was. If a man had no money he was considered half a man. If a man is unable to

get his wife pregnant, he was considered an impotent man, same as an incomplete man. If a man had a small dick he was considered what ? he had no idea what the females of his earth had come up with that, perhaps he didn't stay alive long enough to hear about it.

The same was also applicable to women. If a woman can't conceive, she's been regarded as half of a woman, and if she's got a body count of more than a first eleven, then she's considered for the streets. Not that it really mattered since everyone gets married every week. I don't think I have seen a wedding on a monday.

It just didn't stop there, does it ? No.

It also goes down to children, them little kids would also collect. If you are in school, be it secondary or high-school or college or university, if you aren't performing up to the expectations of the person paying your tuition and the one teaching you, there's a high chance of being considered a nobody. In some cases one is been labeled as a failure, it doesn't matter if you were to switch line of focus to something else entirely that will bring out the genius in you. But at that moment, one is been considered a failure.

Remember when I said imagine if I read my books every day after school I would have been a medical doctor or lawyer or engineer or some corporate employee earning big bucks monthly while seated in a comfy chair, laptop flashing in my face, the soft cushion massaging my ass, while waiting for closure time, as I proudly walk towards my big benz and zoom off to a club or a house with a lovely housewife and kids all waiting to shout daddy is back.

But Heck, look where I landed. I mean I became an assassin, one who worked once as the government dog on a leash before biting the hand that fed me when it tried to stab me behind. Then an independent contractor when the government gave up chasing me. The man who kills for the money, Heck I was good at the job I did, if not I wouldn't be here.

what I might be trying to say is folks, just do what good for you and what you are good at. You think you are good at crime, but is crime good for you? See everything got itself stucked in a cycle of loop, just don't fuck yourself up. Like my mama would always say, your shit is the food for the plants and the plants shit which we call fruit are our own food. Perharps if I had been a doctor I wouldn't be here. Probably I might be dead, awaiting judgment or maybe still alive trying to save someone's life and saying a moment of prayer when someone leaves finally. But then it really doesn't matter.

He knew what these folks were thinking.

"Why should a cripple be taking the Royals academy test?"

"It's a stain to my pride to be competing with an incomplete human or an invalid for the same position"

"Who is he to think that training to be an elementalist is a walk in the park. oh shit he can't even walk".

Few of the words that he could hear, but their faces said more.

But then did he blame them ? he didn't blame them cause they weren't his cause of misfortune, this body was born like this. But it didn't matter of they were right or wrong, all that mattered was him, his goal, his purpose to be here. And deep down he knew that it would be ones folly to be hindered by such people, For he knew that if anyone of them were to come in between his goals, he would surely not let a man take another breathe before snuffing them out of existence. But for now it's all about counting your bullets, loading your clips and writing down their names. Speaking of names, there were some folks that needed to be taught a lesson, the .....

"Hunter!"

Immediately his chain of thoughts were broken as the running figure of a tall, muscular boy with a short hair came into his view.

"Hayden, Hayden, where have you been?" He said with a smile.

He smiled. He was happy with his family, perhaps Hayden was the brother that he never had. or hopefully the one that never betrayed him.

Hell boy was he wrong.
