My eyes narrowed at his disrespectful tone but his smile stayed present as he held his hands out in front of him. "The head if you will." I hesitated, then took the carrier's strap from my shoulder and reached inside the bag. I then pulled out the head and handed it to him. After he took it from me he faced it towards himself, causing the eyes to open. However, the only effect it had on him was changing the color of his eyes to green for as long as he looked.
"Ah, what a rush. You'll do a splendid job eternally protecting my treasury, my dear." He then snapped his fingers and the head disappeared into blue fire. His eyes returned to yellow once it disappeared and May was impressed with his magic trick. "Wow! I can't believe we're standing in front of an actual wizard! Hi! I'm CherryMay, Dedrin's friend! It's nice to meet you!" I gritted my teeth at the sound of her yet again calling us friends but didn't bother to correct her.
Theodius looked at May like he didn't notice she was there before, and his eyes lit up as his smile became a smirk. In an instant, he teleported from where he was standing and reappeared behind her to grab her chest. "Hello, cutie!" May screamed from the sudden feeling of him grabbing her breasts, and she froze in place as her face overheated from blush. Theodius didn't react at all to her scream and hesitated as he felt her. "Oo, B cup with extra filling. Nice."
She remained entirely red and frozen and I rolled my eyes. "Great. I'm working for a pervert." Theodius then directed his smile at me as he pulled May closer to him. "Don't knock it 'till you've tried it!" I sighed and turned to face them. "I don't know much about women, but I'm pretty sure they don't like it when you just come up to them and grab their breasts."
He shrugged. "I hear no objections." I looked at May who was boiling red and shaking from head to toe. "That's because she's an idiot who thinks it's rude to tell someone to stop groping them. So stop because I don't want to look at that anymore." Theodius rolled his eyes and let go of her only for her legs to give out from under her, and she flopped to the ground.
She then immediately flew up and behind me as if to hide from him. Theodius laughed a little as he crossed his arms. "You two are an odd pair, aren't you? I never thought the great Dedrin would ask for help." I tried to remove May's hands from my shoulders as I answered him. "I never asked for help and I still don't need it. I'm just in a hurry so I'm forcing her to do the work for me to save time. Also, if you can teleport then what was the point of the dragon?"
He shrugged as he held his smile. "That was just for my cool entrance. But if you're pressed on time then I can give him to you if you like." I was surprised by his sudden offer. If I was able to fly to each trial that would save a huge amount of time and energy. I became suspicious of him after a moment. "There's a catch, isn't there?"
He then placed a hand on his chest with playful offense. "My, my, don't you have trust issues? Can't you have an open mind to the idea that someone would give you something out of generosity?" I gave him a look of disbelief and he put his hand down. "Unfortunately, this isn't the case." I nodded. 'And there it is.'
He continued as if he didn't notice the annoyance behind my stare. "You see, giving you a dragon would definitely put you at a big advantage in completing my quest, so I can't simply make it that easy without a price. So, I must say that your partner is quite a cutie, and I'm tempted to just give you the stone in exchange for her, but-" I immediately grabbed May from behind me and threw her in front of him. "Take her, she's yours!"
May turned around with her eyes wide. "WHAT?!" Theodius looked at me blankly for a second before raising his pointer finger. "I said BUT. But, again that would make it too easy. So... Instead I want you two to retrieve something extra from the next task you are set to complete." I crossed my arms in disappointment. 'Damn it. I was so close.'
He continued with his explanation. "The next test is to steal a spell book from the witch of a stupid name that is hard to pronounce that doesn't matter anyway since once you take her power she'll return to an insignificant state of being. What I'd like you to do in addition to that is to steal her giant ruby of power. If you get both for me I will then give you Saniel the dragon."
I avoided eye contact with him as I nodded with irritated agreement. "Fine." Theodius nodded in return. "Great. I guess I'll send you on your way then, and hopefully, you'll get a dragon out of it. I'll warn you, however, that this task is much harder than killing Medusa. It would be really sad if you died on the second test, so be wise. Oh, and one more thing." He stopped talking to grab May again and bent her backward to plant a kiss on her lips.
She turned bright red instantly and struggled, but failed at trying to get away from him. "Mmm!" He let go of her a second later and she quickly flew behind me again. "Ah!" He laughed and started to walk back to the dragon who had been waiting patiently. "Until we meet again!" He waved to us as he approached the mythical beast and levitated onto its back. The dragon spread its wings again and took off into the sky.
They were soon out of sight and May came out from behind me, slowly. "Well. He was a lot... Handsier than I expected..." I then threw the carrier at her and she stumbled while catching it as I continued to walk forward. "What I'm wondering is why you didn't destroy his face like you did Damien." May dropped the bag and quickly caught up to me with nervousness in her voice. "Well, I was angry at Damien... Theodius just scares me."
Her response lit a match of curiosity in my mind. "I don't really care what your answer to this is, but if I recall correctly you two broke up because you wouldn't sleep with him. Why didn't you? He was your boyfriend after all." May seemed surprised at my sudden question and hesitated as she shrugged.
"Um, I thought I didn't because I wasn't ready, but now I'm thinking it was because deep down I knew something wasn't right. I always felt uncomfortable whenever he tried to touch me other than kisses or hugs and thought it was because we weren't married, but now I know the real reason." Silence passed between us for a moment before I responded. "I was right. I don't care."
