I had Paige on me, that's what her name is, I could tell by how they yelled her name supporting her. You could tell that the ruckus made everyone in the cafeteria come to watch the fight. I tugged at her hair tightly causing her to gasp. I made a quick move and now I was the one on top of her. I had it around the neck, I don't know, but when I get very angry I can't control myself.
"Let go...!"She screamed, while with her hands she pulled my hair. We were the same, if she didn't let go of me either.
"I'll teach you to respect." I snapped through my teeth. Arms wrapped around my waist causing me to let go of Paige.
"Let go!"I kicked. But he wouldn't let go, he had a hold on me. I watched the boy in the car help Paige, while she cried rubbing her neck. Suddenly we heard a very loud whistle blow that almost made us deaf. There was absolute silence. The director was fuming. Oh no. I think I'm in trouble.
"What's happening here? She asked in an authoritative voice. Then she looked at us both. "This is not a boxing ring so they are hitting in the middle of the hall."
I looked at Paige, she was looking at me. There was anger in her eyes, too much, I could swear she saw them black, much more than normal. She looked at my bewilderment and drew an evil smile that made me shiver.
"You two," she pointed to the boy holding me and the other who was holding Paige, who by the way looked furious, but he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at where the boy was holding me. "Bring them to my office." She ordered and turned away.
The other students returned to the cafeteria until only the four of us were left in the hall. I struggled for the boy to let go of me until he did. I turned to look at him and settled my neck.
He was handsome, tall, had a very good body and from what I could feel he was strong. He was wearing a green shirt and black jeans. His hair was tousled and tousled, sort of as if he had been messing it up himself. I looked into his eyes, he also had a very deep look. What happens in this town?
"Come on, we have to go to the principal's office." He took my arm, delicately. I put it away immediately.
I heard Paige whine. The boy wasn't paying much attention to her. I walked, ahead of me, towards the address. Shortly after I heard footsteps behind me, and the boy who separated me took up position next to me.
"I haven't seen you around here, are you new?" He asked, smiling.
"Another ..." I murmured more to myself. Fuck, I'm obviously new.
"Sorry, I didn't listen." He objected, moving a little closer, putting his hand on his ear. Breathe deeply.
"Yes, I am new." -I replied. "My name is Carolina, by the way."
He smiled.
"I'm Connor." He shook his hand. I took it. We got to the address and I sat in a chair, Paige sat in another next to me. Connor and the other boy, who still don't know his name, were standing.
"Very well, ladies, why was the fight?" She asked, trying not to sound upset.
"She started ..." we both said in unison. I got angrier.
"She pushed me past me as we went down the hall and then slapped me for no reason." Paige told her.
I opened my mouth in amazement. What a lier.
"That's not true," I told the director. "What a liar you are." I looked at Paige. The principal snorted.
"You know what? Since no one is going to tell me the truth, I will find out myself." She turned around and typed something on her computer, some pictures came out of it like security cameras. "With these new cameras, now I will put order in the school." The image came out of the corridor where we were, she delayed it at the time they touched the camp ring and left it. She looked at the boys who were leaving, then she looked at me with Anne, she looked at where Paige pushed her, I defended her, she slapped me, I responded and well ... The fight.
The director turned off the computer and looked at us. "Your first day, Miss Lane." She look myself "They will be suspended for today"
What?!
My mom is going to kill me.
"But, Madam Director ...!" Paige yelled. She dropped it. I didn't say anything ... And what did I expect? That they give me an award? Buffet.
"Kayler," she addressed the boy behind Paige.
With what is called Kayler.
"Take Carolina home. I understand they're neighbors. Take care of her, will you?"
What? There is no. Can not be.
"Connor, take Paige." She finished and pointed us out. I got up at a fast pace and almost ran out of there, if I was lucky I could escape from Kayler and walk myself.
I don't want to be alone with him in a car, he intimidates me, his intense gaze makes me forget everything and causes many things in me that, honestly, I don't want to deal with go with that now.
I know guys like Kayler, arrogant, manipulative, jealous, womanizing. I imagine Paige is his girlfriend. That stupid woman still dared to say that she and he are the ones in charge of this school. They are ridiculous.
I was leaving the school when some arms stopped me, their grip was strong, but it did not stop to hurt me.
"What's the matter, idiot ?!" I snapped, not looking who it was. I turned. It was him. Kayler. He had a mocking smile on his face.
"Running away?" He asked, amused, raising an eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes. "Of course not ... Oh, and don't bother, I can walk home, I don't need anyone to drive me.Goodbye." I turned to go on my way but he was faster and took my arm again. His touch was warm.
"I don't think you want to go alone ... The forest is not very safe." He commented wrinkling his nose, he said it as if he knew very well what was in it.
I crossed my arms. "I don't care," I snapped. His countenance became serious. His jaw clenched a little, at the same time I also saw that he clenched his fists. His gaze was darkening, just as he had seen Paige a moment ago. I was scared, yes.
"I see you're indomitable, you don't like to give in, do you?" He asked. "But you, my dear Carolina, will come with me by hook or by crook." In the blink of an eye I was floating in the air. Kayler was carrying me on her shoulder.
Dammit.
"Put me down!" I kicked. I heard a car door open, then Kayler sat me in the co-pilot seat and put my seatbelt on. He closed my door and he got into the driver's seat. This was the jeep he had seen yesterday. Their seats were fine and almost new.
"I know those who are like you ..." I murmured, as he started the car.
"Oh yeah?" He asked mockingly, as if what I was saying amused him. He started the car and drove off leaving high school behind. I nodded without looking at him.
"They like people to do what they please. But I'm not like that, I don't like to obey anyone." I snapped. "Your girlfriend is proof of that."
He laughed
"It's okay, little Carolina, whatever you say." It didn't sound very convincing. I looked at him with a frown, it's like he doesn't take what I say seriously. I was silent watching the forest, we were already entering it. I don't know why Mom had to choose a house in the middle of the forest. It gives me a certain fear. The howl I heard yesterday comes to mind. A chill runs through my body. To be honest, I'm afraid of being alone at home.
"What do you think made you so pale?" The idiot next to me asked. I closed my eyes for a second. I don't know if I should tell him about the wolf, but maybe he knows if there is or not, after all he has lived here longer than I have.
"You ... Do you know if there are wild animals in this forest?" I asked for. "Like wolves and stuff?" I watched him tense up and squeeze the steering wheel a little hard.
"I don't know ... I've never seen one." He answered curtly. "Would you be scared if there are?"
I look at him. The answer was obvious. "Yeah right if. I live alone in the middle of the forest, and knowing that I am surrounded by wild wolves terrifies me" I confessed.
He was silent for a moment, perhaps pondering what he had said.
"It is logical" he whispered "But don't be scared, nothing can happen to you with me."
