I was afraid. Not every day they send you a message saying they are going to kill you. Oh my God. It's awful. I've only been here two days and they already want to see me dead. I didn't take my eyes off my phone, I was breathing with a bit of difficulty, maybe I shouldn't pay attention, maybe it's a practical joke.
But what kept me from Kayler? I'm delighted, but I'm not the one looking for him. Who would be the one who sent the message? Paige? I looked at Paige, she was drinking her juice, very calm. I don't see her with the cell phone in her hand so it can't be her. Could it be another girl in love with Kayler? Because there must be several.
I looked back at the cell phone. I think I should calm down and ignore it. This message does not have to scare me, I am strong and I can with whoever is behind this. I turned off the phone and looked at Anne, who was watching me with her frown.
"You're good?" She ask "You are pale."
Yes, I'm fine considering that there are wolves and now in love with Kayler who want to kill me.
"Yeah, it's just ... I'm not feeling well." I lied. It wasn't really such a lie, I feel terrible. She placed her hand on my forehead and nodded.
"That's true, you have a fever." She said, taking another bite of her sandwich. "You should go to the infirmary to get something prescribed."
It's not a bad idea. If I'm a bit lucky they tell me to take the afternoon off.
"It's okay. I will go." I picked up my backpack and placed it on my shoulder.
"Do you want me to accompany you?" Anne asked, pretending to get up.
"No. Don't worry, I'll go. We will speak later. "I smiled at her. I walked straight out of the cafeteria, I could see that Kayler didn't take his eyes off me, much less Paige. I went to the infirmary, knocked on the door twice, and a young girl opened it for me.
"Hello, what do you have?" She wanted to know.
"I think I have a fever."
The girl put her hand across my forehead and nodded.
"So is." I sat on the edge of a gurney that was there, while I watched the girl look for something in some drawers. "I'll give you some pills," she announced, pulling out an envelope, "but they'll make you sleepy, so go home and rest a bit. Don't worry about anything, I'll report you to the principal. She handed me two sachets of pills. I smiled at her. "You just have to leave me your name..." She approached her desk and handed me a booklet and a pen. "...Here." She handed me the notebook, I took it, writing my name on it. There were two names higher up, one said Augusto and one called Hannah Gray. When finished, I handed it to him."First you take two and at eight hours you take another two." She explained.
"Thank you." I left the infirmary with the intention of looking for a taxi or something to take me home, but as I was going down the hall I saw Connor, the boy who pushed me away from Paige yesterday, coming towards me.
"Hello, Carolina." He greeted smiling.
"Connor." Connor was not ugly at all, he is very handsome. Her body is well worked and his gaze is sincere... Sweet. Not like Kayler.
"You're good? I watched you go into the infirmary." First I nodded uncertainly but then shook my head, forming my lips into a single line. He frowned. "Are you sick?" He asked, with a certain tone of concern.
"Yes. Apparently I have a fever, I go home to rest." We go down to the first floor in search of the exit. I just hope I don't run into Kayler, I don't want him to take me home. The bell rang announcing the entrance to the following hours of class. The boys started to leave the cafeteria. I hastened my pace.
"Do you want me to take you?" he inquired, keeping up with me.
It's not a bad idea. This is how I get away from Kayler. And speaking of the King of Rome...
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" He took me by the arm and held onto him. I looked at it wrong.
"Let go of her, Brown." Connor snapped from beside me. Kayler went from me to Connor. He looked at him with hatred. I feel terrible to witness a fight. My head is spinning and I don't have the strength to get away from Kayler, all I want to do is get home and sleep.
"This is not your problem, Connor." He roared. Kayler was holding on to him more. Why am I not doing anything? Ray!
"If she doesn't want to go with you, leave her. You are nobody to tell him what to do." Connor said, clenching his fists. Kayler became more enraged. He released me and approached Connor threateningly. Kayler didn't flinch. They were prepared to start a fight.
"Stop!" I could say. Well, I actually think I screamed. The two boys in front of me looked at me, then their gaze went from hatred between them to concern towards me. It must be because he was sweating, he was looking double. He was looking at two Kaylers —a nightmare by the way—and two Connors. Then I felt faint and then everything turned black.

I opened my eyes blinking a little fast in the process. I looked at everything blurry but it became clearer as the seconds passed. My throat felt dry, bitter. I looked out the window and it was dark. It's already night? I ran my gaze across my room until I stopped at the door frame who was lying on... Kayler.
"What happened to me?" I put a hand to my head, feeling awful. Kayler came over to me and sat on the edge of my bed.
"You passed out, how are you feeling?" He whisper.
"Terrible."
Kayler glanced at me. "Your mother has already arrived. I had to convince her to go to sleep. That you were going to be fine." He let me know. I frowned.
"My mom left you here. With me. At night?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. He scratched the back of his neck nervously.
"Actually she thinks I left," he replied. I looked at him in disbelief. "I climbed out the window." He added, pointing to the open window. I pursed my lips.
"I'm fine. You can go." I snapped, laying down again. He snorted.
"Could you stop being so rude for a moment?" He asked. "I'm taking care of you."
I rolled my eyes. "I can take care of myself." Now that I have Kayler here with me I can ask him a couple of questions that were bothering me. I sat on the bed. "Kayler, who are you really?" -I asked for.
I noticed how he tensed at my question. "What are you and your weird little group hiding?" He got up from the bed and walked across the room huffing. Then he stopped to see me.
"I see you're fine now, so I'm going." After that he left my room without giving me time to say anything. This makes me more suspicious that Kayler and his group are hiding something. And I have to find out.
