Mona's POV
---------------
A few days ago…
"Ehehehe…"
A pair of small paws carefully rubbed a little treasure.
Granadillas.
Those little fruits of sweet and sour, a refreshing pulp hidden carefully by a honey-colored skin.
"Sluuuurp!"
Sticky, web-like strings of drool drenched the little figures faced. Gulping the drool down and licking the lips, the little animal's eyes shone in excitement. Stars could be seen inside its eyes!
Eagerly, the figure drilled its stubby fingers in, pulling the skin right off. What seemed to be eggs or tadpoles or anything else disgusting appeared. The little eggs clustered together in a sack, seemingly a start to what seemed like an alien hive.
But the shine in its eyes didn't dim at all, rather radiated even brighter, almost like a pair of lasers. A waterfall of drool crashed out of its mouth too.
Haphazardly wiping the drool out of the way, the figure drove its fingers in, scooping up the egg sac, and shoved the whole pulp right into its salivating mouth.
"Popoppop!"
Little packets of lightly sweet and sour juice exploded in its mouth.
Instantly the animal's face melted into a smile. With twinkling eyes, the cute animal squeezed its eyes in bliss, laying back comfortingly against the tree trunk.
Hanging one of its arms off on the side of the tree, the rest of its legs dangled off of the tree branch.
The hot sun couldn't even be a problem to the animal! A collage of tree leaves covered most of its body, cooling down the animal in the humid weather, though some patches of light still managed to leak through, showing off the black and white fur.
There was a small mountain of granadillas erected on the figure's stomach, similarly like gems to a human. To this furry little fellow, that was its gems, its valuables, its treasure trove.
"MONAAAAA!" A shrill shriek shattered Mona's relaxing moment.
A barrage of clamoring sounds and "oh-ahs" charge towards Mona. An onslaught of about a dozen furry little capuchins rushed forwards. Some were screeching, some were laughing, some were weaving along the branches and leaves with their paws and tails, some were dead-serious racing, their eyes glued to Mona's treasure.
"WHY ARE YOU GUYS HERE!?" Mona screamed back, quickly clambering, trying to grab all of her granadillas for a hasty get-away.
But it was too late.
"Mona, can you play with me?"
"Hey, no fair, I was going to ask her the same thing!"
"Ugh, I think I need to poop."
"Who wants to play tag with me?"
"Go play tag with yourself loser! Let's play hide and seek instead!"
"Woooh!"
"Mona, can I have some granadillas? I love that fruit soooo much."
A barrage of words tackled Mona as so many capuchins clambered around Mona.
A random hand smacked Mona right on her face. Another pulled her fur. Another pesky little paw snatched a granadilla away!
"Ugh, get away from me!" Mona cried, pushing and shoving all her cousins away, "And whoever took my granadilla, you better give it back, or else I'll make sure to get back at you! You'll regret ever stealing from me. I'm talking to you Mane!"
"Me?" Mane asked. He pointed towards himself.
"I'm not even close to you! Why do you guys always think I did it!?" Mane complained.
"Hehe, cause it's fun bullying you."
"HEY, who said that!?" Mane shouted, but his shouts got drowned out by the rest of the group of capuchins that were all blabbering about.
"C'mon Mona, you're always so fun to be around! We always played pranks and played games, but you're just so boring today."
"A girl needs her own relaxing day. Besides, I was trying to enjoy some dessert, but here you all barge in so savagely!" Mona retorted, her arms cupped all of her granadillas carefully like a precious child, "This is why I hate all you guys. You guys are the most annoying cousins ever!"
"Not more annoying than Mane," a random voice said.
"WHO SAID THAT!" Mane shouted again, but once again, there was no reply.
